Pollster Matt Towery Says Media is Still Getting Trump’s Approval Wrong: ‘Donald Trump’s at Above 50%’ (Video)

by Margaret Flavin Jul. 26, 2025 12:20

Pollster Matt Towery joined Fox’s “The Ingraham Angle,” to share why the mainstream media continues to get it wrong when it comes to President Trump’s approval numbers.

Towery suggests that Trump’s approval ratings far exceed what the media claims.

Per The Daily Caller, “Gallup published a poll Thursday showing Trump’s approval rating dropped to 37%, with support among independents falling to 29%.”

Ingraham said, “The overall approval rating, one was 42%. That looked kind of low to me, but overall people are generally, seem to be pretty happy.”

Towery replied, “Well, it is low. And let me tell you, there’s a war that takes place. You talk about the media. =•There’s one among us pollsters as well.”==

“Those of us who poll Trump very well and have been accurate, oftentimes our polls are shunted to the side and instead you get like a Gallup poll.”

“Gallup used to be very good at doing presidential approval. They’re not anymore. They certainly are not with Trump.”

“38% approval? That’s a joke.”

“So, really, when you look at polls, it’s almost like when you look at the old legacy media versus the new media and the conservative media. It’s two different worlds.”

“Trust me, Donald Trump’s at above 50% approval, majority approval in this country. Take it from me. I’m right.”

Zelensky Stripped Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Agencies of Power Because They Were Investigating Officials Linked to His Grey Eminence Andriy Yermak: REPORT

By Paul Serran Jul. 26, 2025

Western MSM continues to lambast Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, even after he backtracked on his own decision on defanging the anti-corruption agencies.

And the British Spectator reported on the reason why he made the worst mistake of his political life:to protect his close friend and gray eminence Andriy Yermak.

“For six years in office, Volodymyr Zelensky never experienced the raging crowd beneath his window. But Ukraine’s wartime president grew too powerful, too confident, bathing in the unwavering support of Ukrainiansin the face of a greater evil. He overstepped.”

Zelensky was sure that stripping the anti-corruption institutions of their independence would go smoothly.

It did not.

The Kiev regime leader had to back down, and introduce another bill undoing the changes introduced by the previous one.

“Ukrainian lawmakers will return from their outrageous four-week holiday to vote on it in parliament. ‘It is important that we maintain unity’, Zelensky said. ‘It is important that we respect the position of all Ukrainians’.”.

But will Ukraine’s anti-corruption agency, NABU, and the office of the anti-corruption prosecutor, SAPO, be able to investigate regime politicians?

“There is no evidence of Zelensky’s personal involvement in corruption, but the same cannot be said for those who share his office.(he’s absolutely is corrupt). In parliament alone,at least 17 MPswho voted for the scandalous bill have been suspected of corruption by Nabu.

But most importantly, the bureau cast its eye over appointees linked to Zelensky’s right-hand man, Andriy Yermak: Pavlo Kyrylenko, the current head of the Anti-monopoly Committee, suspected of illegally enriching himself by nearly £1 million, and Oleksiy Chernyshov, deputy prime minister, allegedly involved in a corruption scheme that cost the state more than £17 million.”

The influence of Yermak in the government can’t be overstated. He and Zelensky live together in the same bunker, sharing the routine of morning workouts and nightly movie sessions.

Yermak was reportedly the mastermind behind the ‘suicidal’ bill against the anti-corruption agencies.

The bill was approved at lighting speed by MPs who in many cases were being investigated by the agencies that they were neutralizing.

“By evening, nothing could stop Zelensky from signing it: not the pleas from the Ukrainian public gathered in front of his office in Kyiv, nor the appeals from G7 ambassadors, nor phone calls from French president Emmanuel Macron and Antonio Costa, European Council president. The pace was unprecedented for a president known to let dozens of draft laws gather dust on his desk for months.”

The spell is broken: Zelensky is now seen as a common politician, suspected of corruption.

Trump wants new nuclear talks with Russia

A landmark treaty limiting the number of warheads will expire in February

US President Donald Trump has hinted that he would resume negotiations to maintain the existing restrictions on nuclear weapons with Russia.

The president made his remarks as the New START treaty, which limits the number of warheads and the means of their delivery, is set to expire on February 5, 2026.

“That’s not an agreement you want expiring. We’re starting to work on that,” Trump told reporters outside the White House before a trip to Scotland on Friday, according to Reuters.

“When you take off nuclear restrictions, that’s a big problem,” Trump said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier this yearthat “dialogue between Russia and the US on arms control is necessary, especially concerning strategic stability.” He stressed, however, that it would require “an appropriate level of trust,” which needs to come with the normalization of bilateral ties severed by the Biden administration in 2022.

The New START treaty was signed in 2010 by then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his US counterpart at the time Barack Obama during a brief period of rapprochement known as the “reset.”

Relations later deteriorated to historic lows over allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election and the conflict in Ukraine.

During Trump’s first term in office, the US withdrew from the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia, which banned ground-launched missiles with ranges of 500–5,500 km, as well as the 1992 Open Skies Treaty, which allowed the countries to conduct surveillance flights over each other’s territory. Moscow followed suit and accused Washington of dismantling the global arms control system.

INTERVIEW: Ukraine already facing a default, Medvedchuk says

"After Kiev failed to make loan payments on June 2, 2025, the S&P international agency immediately lowered its issue rating on Ukraine's GDP-linked securities to D", Ukraine’s banned Opposition Platform said

MOSCOW, July 26. /TASS/. It can no longer be denied that a default has occurred in Ukraine, Viktor Medvedchuk, former leader of Ukraine’s banned Opposition Platform - For Life party who now heads the Another Ukraine movement, said in an interview with TASS.

"After Kiev failed to make loan payments on June 2, 2025, the S&P international agency immediately lowered its issue rating on Ukraine's GDP-linked securities to D (default) from CC (currently highly vulnerable). Now, there is not a single Western expert in economy and investmentdenying an actual default in Ukraine," the politician pointed out.

"Ukraine’s official announcement of a default would not only mean that the country can no longer pay its debtsbut also that it is unable to fight," Medvedchuk noted.

According to him, this is the reason why "a large share of theWestern political elite is much interested in pretending that there is no default in Ukraine.".

Ukraine designated buffer state between West and Russia — Hungarian prime minister

Viktor Orban noted that Budapest proposes, instead of admitting Ukraine to the EU, a strategic partnership agreementto be signed with Kiev, one that would not risk direct military conflict between the West and Russia

BUDAPEST, July 25. /TASS/. Ukraine has been designated the role of a buffer state andwill not become a member of the European Union in the foreseeable future, as this would draw the West into a war with Russia, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated during an appearance on the morning program of Kossuth Radio.

He noted that EU leaders are trying to admit Kiev into the bloc as quickly as possible, but Budapest considers this unacceptable. "If we agree to Ukraine's accession, we will become a battlefield. Geographically, the war will spill over into the neighboring region, which is unacceptable. Many young Hungarians will die. This is not a tactical but an existential question," Orban said.

"Ukraine is a buffer state," he stated, adding that Hungary itself would not wish to play such a role in geopolitics. "We do not want to accept such a fate. We understand how it feels because we were on the western periphery of the Soviet Union, and we do not want to return to that position," Orban explained.

He noted that Budapest proposes, instead of admitting Ukraine to the EU, a strategic partnership agreement to be signed with Kiev, one that would not risk direct military conflict between the West and Russia.

Earlier, the Hungarian government repeatedly stated that Ukraine joining the European Union would drag the bloc into an armed conflict against Russia, which would mark the beginning of a global war.

US has no idea what to do about Zelensky — Seymour Hersh

According to the journalist, the decision to conduct the operation was made by US President Joe Biden personally, following nine months of discussions with White House national security advisers

NEW YORK, July 27. /TASS/. Sources in US intelligence think that the Ukrainian counteroffensive has been thwartedwhile US authorities do not know what to do about Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky next, US Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh wrote in an article published on the Substack platform.

"Zelensky has no plan, except to hang on.It’s as if he’s an orphan - a poor waif in his underwear -and we have no real idea of what Zelensky and his crowd are thinking," the source told Hersh.

According to the intelligence source,Ukraine has "the most corrupt and dumbest government in the world," while "Biden’s support of Zelensky can only come from Zelensky’s knowledge of Biden, and not just because he was taking care of Biden’s son."

On February 8, Hersh published an article claiming, citing anonymous sources, that US Navy divers had planted explosive devices under the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines under the cover of the BALTOPS naval exercise in June 2022, and that the Norwegians then activated the bombs three months later. According to the journalist, the decision to conduct the operation was made by US President Joe Biden personally, following nine months of discussions with White House national security advisers.

The White House has categorically denied the claims. The New York Times reported earlier, citing American officials, that a certain "pro-Ukrainian group" allegedly had the intention of blowing up the gas pipeline running from Russia to Germany.

(This sounds true.)

Ukrainian lawmaker says NABU came under pressure for bugging Zelensky's 'shadow office'

According to Alexey Goncharenko, Timur Mindich is slowly becoming the country's main oligarch and Zelensky's personal wallet

MOSCOW, July 25. /TASS/. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) came under pressure for wiretappingbusinessman Timur Mindich, who is referred to as Vladimir Zelensky's "wallet," said Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian parliament) Deputy Alexey Goncharenko (recognized as a terrorist and extremist in Russia).

Mindich is a co-owner of the Ukrainian production company Kvartal 95, a business partner and close personal friend of Zelensky. In mid-June, it was reported that the businessman had fled the country.

"Mindich is slowly becoming the country's main oligarch and Zelensky's personal wallet. The reason for the attempt to dismantle the NABU and the haste with which it happened stems from the fact that the NABU got very close to Mindich. And here's a hot scoop: the corruption watchdog had a bug in Mindich's apartment for a long time," Goncharenko wrote on his Telegram channel.

He called Mindich's apartment Zelensky's "shadow office." "There, they discussed contracts for weapons selling, bribes in the energy sector, corporate raids, and mulled over which tycoon would be the next to fall under sanctions. Only those from Zelensky's inner circle had access to the apartment," Goncharenko said.

"Someone from this circle gave access to the NABU and helped set up wiretaps. The organization has all the information and all the recordings. I hope that it sticks to its guns and sees this thing through," he noted, adding that now the NABU is "looking for a rat in Zelensky's inner circle."

Goncharenko suggests that the bugging of Mindich was made possible through the above-floor apartment of Gennady Bogolyubov, the business partner of Ukrainian tycoon Igor Kolomoisky (recognized as a terrorist and extremist in Russia). According to the deputy, Bogolyubov secured his departure abroad by allowing this. "His apartment is above that of Mindich, so they were able to drill down and plant bugs on Mindich’s place from there. For his cooperation, Bogolyubov was allowed to leave the country," Goncharenko added.

The wiretapping had been going on for three months. "I hope it will yield a lot of useful information about Mindich and all the corruption under Zelensky."

Over the past three days, protests have spread in many Ukrainian cities due to pressure on the NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).

Situation with Ukraine's corruption watchdogs

Zelensky has long tried to gain control over both agencies. On June 23, the bureau filed corruption charges against Alexey Chernyshov, who at the time served as Ukraine's deputy prime minister. Chernyshov is regarded as a very influential figure in Zelensky’s inner circle, and the charges against him sharpened the conflict. According to some opposition lawmakers, the corruption watchdogs could soon bring charges against other people close to Zelensky.

On July 21, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches in the offices of the bureau staff and also inspected the prosecutor’s office. On July 22, the Ukrainian parliament, where the majority of seats is controlled by Zelensky’s party, passed a bill aiming to strip the NABU and SAPO of their independent status. That same evening, about 2,000 residents of Kiev and other Ukrainian cities took to the streets in protest. Even so, Zelensky signed the bill into law and it came into force on July 23. This led to a new wave of protests.

Kiev’s decision regarding the NABU and SAPO has drawn criticism of the West. On July 24, Zelensky submitted to the legislature a bill on the so-called strengthening of the powers of anti-corruption agencies, which, in fact, overturns the previous decision to limit the NABU and SAP's independence. At the same time, the bill would require that officers of the Security Service of Ukraine subject the staff of the two agencies to vetting.

Ukraine has been known as thoroughly corrupt back into 1990’s, there’s no way to straighten out the mess. It’s a “no man’s land!” I think it’s a curse from the Bloodland wars in the 30’s and 40’s. Millions of people died there during that war.
