They are alerting monitors that preprogammed criteria has been met and the data needs to be checked. Usually seismic or wave data. Frequently violent changes in sea level beyond expected or historical norms. Just winging it here from past xp…look in Event Mode.
Confirmed. USGS rating it as an 8.7. They tend to downrate everything, so this must've been undeniably big.
