#OTD in 1980, the sci-fi film THE FINAL COUNTDOWN was released. USS Nimitz travels back in time to the eve of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Of all the types of aircraft featured in the film, only the E-2 Hawkeye is still in service. The Nimitz will be decommissioned next year.

Yesterday, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved important pro-Israel provisions in its FY2026 Defense Appropriations Bill, including:
✅ $500 million for U.S.-Israel missile defense cooperation
✅ $47.5 million for U.S.-Israel emerging technology cooperation
✅ $75 million for U.S.-Israel counter-drone and directed energy cooperation
✅ $80 million for U.S.-Israel anti-tunnel cooperation
