Anon's divorced single mother of 2 working as a nurse (and is still having trouble making it due to her deadbeat X not paying child support) just got hit with a $500 tax taken out of her pay because "younger people need to pay more to fund Social Security".
Anon gets the numbers but people on the ground trying to make it aren't always able to afford it even though they have what some would consider a good paying job. It's not easy to get back up once you've had the shit kicked out of you and you're left with nothing. She can't catch a break. Tired of hearing how we're a rich country and we're all doing better.. not everyone is. None of this transfers to anon's recently retired parents living on Social Security who worked hard to make it the past 40 years due to the shit economy. People in their 70's can't take advantage of the jobs that are coming back.. jobs that anon's father lost in the 80's Living paycheck to paycheck for so long doesn't allow people to invest even if they wanted to. Just wish Trump could hear stories like this because this IS the poor and working class who wonder when the crumbs will fall from the table to benefit them also..
