"Trying to subordinate India and then treating it as a rival when it doesn’t submit could therefore further destabilize this already chaotic transition, thus possibly leading to unforeseeable consequences that accelerate the decline of Western hegemony more than if the West treated India as an equal."

I got news. India has already subordinated us. Business has become reliant on cheap Indian labor whether off shoring US jobs or the H1B method. Since the 90's, our institutions have been shoving out qualified US students in favor of anyone not from this country. Go on Trump, take away the imported/exported labor from India and invest in US labor again. Otherwise, we'll still subordinate to India in the tech sector. And if India prefers to play ball with China and Russia, why on earth would we continue to allow them access to our tech systems much less rely on them?
