Regarding PB notable 23420714
That was NOT Biden- it was wholly DOGE and Trump. I took the DRP because, knowing Trump, his first offer is his best offer. Our agency had a robust system in place for determining telework eligibility and my family made arrangements to leave the swamp based on that with considerations for 2 days in office per week. The return-to work full time (in-office) was untenable for being a family. It would have entailed 13-15 hour days because of commute/traffic, cost too much money in gas and parking fees, and worn out my car within a year which I couldn’t have afforded to replace. We could not afford to move closer and could not afford to drive in daily. I agree the offer was generous and still support Trump, but my job was not public customer service based (in house only) and saved the government more money by being telework. I was far more productive from home because “in office” days turned into ridiculous socialization/team building events which I couldn’t get out of. I wish more thought had gone into the whole matter- some people are more productive teleworking than others and their productivity is easy to prove with all the tracking they had on our equipment. Letting people live outside of of DC LOWERED wages (locality pay based on cost of living per determined area). Everyone that returned to office got a huge pay jump for DC locality.
