A verbal altercation escalated after a white man yelled racial slurs, spat on a black man, slapped him across the face and kicked his car.
Based on witness accounts, police reports, and alternate-angle footage, the white man was the initial aggressor, PROVOKING the fight with racist language and the first physical contact (THE SLAP).
Several individuals in the black group, including the man who was slapped (wearing a red shirt), attempted to de-escalate by holding back others and trying to diffuse the tension before punches were thrown in retaliation, leading to the fight.
