So I wanted to expand on something else I said a long time ago: That I decided to play the role of the tank in all this. There was a very specific intention behind that.

With the radically increased access to information which exists as a result of modern computing technology, people are so overwhelmed that many end up viewing only negative things, and from that developing a view of the world which is radically darker than what's actually there. Now, eventually people will adjust and get more comfortable with how what they're seeing online relates to the actual, real world, but until then society is hugely vulnerable to bad actors stoking the fires of hate. So, because of this and also as a result of other things being done, I've managed to attract a huge amount of the world's ire directly upon myself, for the specific reason of obtaining this power:

Every stone which anyone has ever thrown at me, for any reason, no matter where it came from, is forgiven.

Hopefully what's left over is more manageable with that huge chunk of animosity gone.
