80 years ago, on August 6, 1945, nuclear weapons were used for the first time in human history.
The American B-29 bomber "Enola Gay" dropped the atomic bomb "Little Boy" on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, containing about 64 kg of uranium-232 and equivalent in power to 13-18 kilotons of TNT.
As a result of the explosion, between 70,000 and 100,000 people were killed in a single day, according to various estimates. By the end of 1945, the number of victims increased to 140,000 due to those who died in hospitals from wounds and radiation.
