China deploys drones, nets, and fines in mosquito virus crackdown Foshan locks down 7,000 patients. Fines hit ¥10,000. Electricity cut for violations.

China’s outbreak isn’t airborne. It’s insect-driven. But the response looks familiar—nets, drones, fines, and forced isolation. Foshan leads the case count. No one explains why it’s the epicenter. Same climate as nearby cities. Same infrastructure. No mutation confirmed. No vector density model published.

“Authorities had reported more than 7,000 cases of the virus as of Wednesday, mostly in the southern Chinese manufacturing hub of Foshan… This suggests that most of the population had no preexisting immunity, making it easier for the virus to spread quickly.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/china-fights-mosquito-borne-chikungunya-virus-with-drones-fines-and-nets/ar-AA1K3wSt

Patients are locked in mosquito-net beds. Not for transmission. For optics.

“Patients in Foshan have to stay under the cover of mosquito nets in their beds and will only be permitted to leave after at least one week has passed, or they test negative for the virus.” https://www.ladbible.com/news/world-news/china-chikungunya-virus-measures-stop-spread-latest-615014-20250807

Enforcement escalates. Fines hit ¥10,000. Electricity cut for violations.

“People who do not empty bottles, flower pots or other outdoor receptacles… can be subject to fines of up to 10,000 yuan ($1,400) and have their electricity cut off.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/science/biology/what-is-chikungunya-the-virus-now-spreading-in-southern-china/ar-AA1K151g

Symptoms aren’t fatal. But they linger. Months of joint pain. No cure.

“Other symptoms can include a headache, muscle pain, joint swelling or a rash… joint pain can be severe, disabling, and in some cases, may persist for months.” https://www.newsweek.com/chikungunya-virus-china-outbreak-symptoms-health-mosquito-2109551

No source confirms how many drones are deployed. No one tracks mosquito kill rates. No one explains how predatory mosquitoes were sourced. No one models ecological blowback.

Big Tech’s Investment Numbers Don’t Add Up

Micron says it’ll drop $200 billion on chip manufacturing. But wait—its market cap? Just $121 billion. And last year’s free cash flow? A tiny $386 million. So, where’s the other $199.6 billion coming from? “Micron Technology… plans to invest $200 billion in semiconductor manufacturing and R&D to dramatically expand American memory chip production.” https://www.commerce.gov/news/press-releases/2025/06/president-trump-secures-200b-investment-micron-technology-memory-chip

Treasury Secretary Bessent waved the number around during trade talks. No details. No timeline. Just a headline and a handshake. “Micron Technology… intends to invest about $200 billion, underscoring the administration’s push to deepen domestic semiconductor capacity.” https://deepnewz.com/china/treasurys-bessent-says-trade-talks-wrapped-flags-200-billion-micron-investment-d9408788

Dig into Micron’s own filings and you find $6.4 billion from the CHIPS Act. The rest? Mysterious partners, unpriced debt, and uncommitted equity. “The chipmaker… said Micron will boost its U.S. investments to about $150 billion in memory manufacturing and $50 billion in research and development.” https://www.investopedia.com/micron-technology-to-spend-usd200b-to-boost-domestic-chip-production-11753272

This isn’t a plan. It’s a headline engineered to hype the stock. Apple played the same game—$600 billion for U.S. manufacturing. Analysts called it “uneconomic.” “Apple’s additional $100 billion investment into US manufacturing, for a total of $600 billion… analysts say they’ll have trouble spending that much money in America over the next four years.” https://finance.yahoo.com/video/apples-us-manufacturing-promises-uneconomic-153611552.html

Let’s lay it out:

Market cap: $121 billion

Promised investment: $200 billion

Free cash flow: $386 million

Reality check? Pure fantasy.

Micron’s $200 billion is not a bet. It’s a hot air balloon. No real cash backing. No math behind the scenes. Just a press release and a pumped market.

This is the new normal. Announce a flashy number. Pump the stock price. Buy time. Cross your fingers the debt materializes.

Still think this ends with earnings growth? Try running the numbers on $200 billion against $386 million free cash flow. Micron’s future is priced on borrowed air. This isn’t isolated. It’s systemic. That $200 billion fantasy is one piece of a much bigger puzzle filled with inflated capital expenditure promises.

Zuckerberg, Altman, and Thiel quietly build luxury bunkers. Preparing for a collapse they won’t explain. If AI is going great, why are they digging holes?

Sam Altman once admitted he keeps a “go bag” and has an agreement with Peter Thiel to flee to New Zealand if things collapse. “Altman said in 2016 the pair would lay low at one of Thiel’s properties in New Zealand.” https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12974609/What-know-Worlds-billionaires-building-bunkers-assembling-fortresses-outside-mansions.html

Thiel’s bunker plans near Lake Wanaka were blocked by New Zealand’s local council. “Independent commissioners reported that Thiel’s bunker design would ‘substantially detract from the quality and naturalness of the outstanding natural landscape.’” https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12974609/What-know-Worlds-billionaires-building-bunkers-assembling-fortresses-outside-mansions.html

Mark Zuckerberg is building a $270 million fortress beneath his Hawaiian estate. “Late last year it emerged Mark Zuckerberg was building a $100 million hidden fortress buried beneath his Hawaiian island ranch, complete with its own energy and food supplies and blast-resistant doors.” https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12974609/What-know-Worlds-billionaires-building-bunkers-assembling-fortresses-outside-mansions.html

Altman, Thiel, and Zuckerberg aren’t prepping for weather. They’re prepping for collapse. Private islands. Blast doors. Hydroponic farms. Not one of them trusts the system they helped build.

No one’s asking why the richest men in tech are building escape hatches. No hearings. No press questions. Just permits, land grabs, and silence.

They say AI will save the world. They’re building bunkers in case it doesn’t.

'Jewish Jihad Has Infiltrated Us': This Scholar Hopes the Gaza War Will Be Israel's 'ISIS Moment'

Middle East scholar Assaf David, one of the few Israelis in direct contact with Gaza residents, wants his fellow citizens to recognize the horrors unfolding there in their name. He relays chilling accounts from Gazans, describes their hatred of Hamas and warns that 'Jewish jihad' has seized control of Israel

On July 19, Assaf David had the feeling that something terrible was happening in the Gaza Strip, even in terms of the already-emerging disaster there.

"People with no connection between them wrote to me in private messages or on Facebook: 'I can't walk,' 'I've felt dizzy since the morning,' 'Something has happened to my eyesight.' Suddenly there were reports that dozens of people were arriving at emergency medical centers for treatment with symptoms of exhaustion. So I realized that something truly extreme had happened."

Dr. David, a Middle East scholar, is one of the few Israelis who are in direct, unmediated contact with inhabitants of the Gaza Strip; in recent months he has been documenting and conveying the horrors of the war to the Israeli public via social media and conversations.

In a Facebook post that day, three weeks ago, issued a warning about what he was seeing: "a frightening leap in public reports and personal messages from Gaza about a rapid worsening of the starvation epidemic. People from across the Strip are writing about dizziness, fainting, vomiting. Hundreds are crowding the clinics that are still functioning. Children are losing consciousness."

"Today my family and I have not eaten a thing," an acquaintance from the Strip wrote him. "We have nothing to eat – absolutely nothing is left, in the fullest sense of the word!" another reported.

The following day, the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry published an announcement about the unfolding wave of deaths, which had claimed the lives of 18 people within a 24-hour period. Dozens have since perished of hunger.

"Since that day I've been truly depressed," David tells Haaretz. "Because I'm afraid we've reached the point of no return that experts warned about many months ago, after which nothing can be done. What that means is that if you've reached a certain level of malnutrition, even flooding the place with humanitarian aid won't help. There will still be a great many who will suffer irreversible damage, and death will become a mass phenomenon. Regular aid will no longer help – what's needed is emergency medical assistance.

Why the Pesticide Liability Protection Act Threatens Our Food Supply and the Health of a Nation

As stewards of the land and providers of our nation’s food supply, farmers and ranchers carry a profound moral obligation—to produce the safest, healthiest, and most nutritious food on the planet. It is not just our livelihood; it is our responsibility to future generations.

That is why I am writing today with deep concern regarding the Pesticide Liability Protection Act currently under consideration in Congress. If enacted, this legislation could cause irreparable harm—not just to the health of farmers and ranchers who work directly with these chemicals, but to the broader public who unknowingly consume their residues.

The Dangerous Path of Corporate Immunity

This bill threatens to open the floodgates for a new wave of pesticides and herbicides engineered by agrochemical giants—products that may be even more toxic than those currently on the market. By shielding these corporations from legal accountability, it removes their last remaining incentive to ensure their chemicals are safe.

We have seen this story before. In 1986, Congress passed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, granting pharmaceutical companies immunity from liability for vaccine-related injuries. The consequences were swift and staggering: a surge in new products, rushed to market without proper safeguards, and a dramatic rise in chronic health conditions in children and adults alike. It was a public health turning point, and not for the better.

The parallels to our current situation are striking. Consider the case of glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup. Bayer (which acquired Monsanto in 2018) has faced more than 177,000 lawsuits involving the weedkiller and set aside $16 billion to settle cases. Over $11 billion has been paid out in Roundup lawsuit settlements, with individual jury awards reaching as high as $2.1 billion in recent cases.

These staggering financial settlements reflect the real human cost of inadequate chemical safety oversight. Even more alarming is the widespread exposure we’re seeing in our most vulnerable population: children. About 87 percent of 650 children tested had detectable levels of glyphosate in their urine, according to CDC analysis. Research shows that children exhibit higher levels of glyphosate in biofluids than adults, and recent studies indicate that higher levels of glyphosate residue in urine in childhood and adolescence were associated with higher risk of liver inflammation and metabolic disorders in young adulthood.

Intel boss accused of China ties while overseeing U.S. defense chip program. Intel’s vetting process appears to be a polite shrug in a locked room

Intel’s CEO is under fire. But the real story isn’t what’s being said, it’s what’s missing. Tan’s China ties, Cadence’s criminal plea, and $8B in taxpayer subsidies are all on record. But no one’s asking how Intel passed vetting. Or why the board ignored subpoenas.

“Cadence Design Systems admitted to knowingly exporting restricted electronic design automation tools and semiconductor IP to China’s National University of Defense Technology (NUDT)… Tan ran Cadence as CEO from 2008 through 2021… The company pled guilty last week and agreed to pay over $140 million in combined criminal and civil penalties.” https://www.techspot.com/news/108959-intel-questioned-over-ceo-lip-bu-tan-china.html

“Tan—personally or via venture funds—invested at least $200 million in hundreds of Chinese companies involved in advanced manufacturing and semiconductor design… Some of these firms reportedly have ties to the People’s Liberation Army or the Chinese Communist Party.” https://techovedas.com/intel-under-fire-ceos-china-links-and-cadence-dealings-raise-national-security-questions/

“President Donald Trump called for the immediate resignation of Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan… Tan ‘is highly CONFLICTED and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem.’” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-is-calling-for-intels-ceo-to-step-down-heres-why/ar-AA1K6yk0

“Intel shares fell 5% after President Donald Trump said on social media that Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan should resign… Trump called the executive ‘highly CONFLICTED’ in a Thursday morning post.” https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/07/stocks-making-the-biggest-moves-premarket-lly-pton-intc-duol.html

Tan ran Cadence while it sold restricted chip tools to a Chinese military university. Cadence pled guilty. Paid $140M. Tan was never charged. But Intel hired him anyway. Then gave him control of Secure Enclave, a defense chip program funded by taxpayers. No one’s explaining how that cleared vetting. No one’s showing divestiture records. No one’s asking why Intel’s board ignored subpoenas. Trump’s post tanked the stock. But the board’s silence is louder. Tan’s portfolio touched PLA-linked firms. Intel’s response? “Committed to national security.” It avoids the point entirely.

Texas Dems fail to show up, House fails to reach quorum on redistricting vote, Speaker withholds direct deposit of missing reps

The roll call vote on Friday saw 95 members of the House present, five votes shy of the 100 members needed for a quorum.

During a roll call vote on Friday, the Texas House of Representatives failed to establish a quorum, or the minimum number of lawmakers needed to conduct business, after Democrat lawmakers in the state fled to stall a vote on a new congressional district map that could see five new GOP House seats.

The roll call vote on Friday saw 95 members of the House present, five votes shy of the 100 members needed for a quorum.

Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows announced during the session that Democrats who fled the state will no longer be receiving their paychecks through electronic means, and must instead show up in person to receive it.

"Yesterday, Attorney General Ken Paxton and I took action to domesticate the civil arrest warrants in the state of Illinois, seeking to make them enforceable beyond Texas state lines. I expect suits in other states will be forthcoming," Burrows said.

He said he has also been in "constant contact with the Department of Public Safety, which has been working to track down absent members in an effort to return them to our chamber. These efforts will continue through the weekend. For those that have fled to Illinois or to California, be reminded that the FBI’s assistant has reportedly been enlisted, and their powers are not confined to any singular state boundaries."

"Starting today, to safeguard taxpayer dollars and account for forthcoming liabilities under Rule 5, Section 3 of House rules, which authorizes fines for members absent without leave, 30 percent of each quorum-breaking member’s monthly operating budget will be reserved and made unavailable for expenditure. Absent members must also appear in person to approve or enact any of the following: requests for travel reimbursement, personal action requests including those increasing or decreasing staff salaries, approval for newsletters and House Reproduction Services."

He also noted that while legislation for flood recovery and infrastructure funding in the wake of devastating flooding seen in the state in July, "the bill cannot be referred to committee without a quorum. Every hour you remain away is time stolen from those Texans in need."

I went looking for the elusive, jet-setting daughters of Paul Keating years after Katherine's link to Epstein and Andrew was exposed. These unearthed documents floored me: SPECIAL INVESTIGATION BY KARLEIGH SMITH

Before the shadow of scandal ever touched her name, Katherine Keating lived a life of privilege befitting the daughter of one of Australia's most storied prime ministers.

Raised in Canberra's Lodge during Paul Keating's years in office (1991–1996), she later set her sights overseas, carving out a place for herself in the United States.

But as I embarked on an investigation into the elusive lives of the Keating sisters - her sibling Alexandra is also based in America, while the whereabouts of eldest daughter Caroline remain a mystery - I uncovered paperwork suggesting Katherine is now poised to begin afresh in another country, six years after her link to Jeffrey Epstein first emerged.

According to documents filed with Companies House in the UK on July 17, Katherine incorporated her business, Keating Company International, listing Britain as her country of residence.

It is understood she used to live in Los Angeles, perhaps until quite recently.

The reason for her move across the Atlantic remains unclear, although it may be as simple as seizing new business opportunities in London.

Leaving America would represent a significant change for the self-styled 'corporate activist', who forged her reputation in New York high society through powerful connections and a string of high-profile roles in media and the sustainability sector.

Her connection to the late paedophile financier Epstein, and his disgraced royal mate Prince Andrew, became headline news in 2019 after the Daily Mail identified her in photographs taken in 2010 as she left Epstein's notorious New York townhouse.

In the images, she was seen farewelling Andrew.

The fact that the daughter of the Australian Labor Party's most prominent republican was so chummy with a British royal was surprising in itself.

Add to that Epstein's 2008 conviction in Florida for soliciting prostitution from a person under 18, and many Australians back home were left wondering what on earth Katherine was thinking by visiting his home.

At the time, she had been living in New York with her then-boyfriend, millionaire hotelier André Balazs, and both appeared to be acquaintances of Epstein's partner-in-crime Ghislaine Maxwell, who was found guilty of sex trafficking in 2021.

Katherine has always refused to comment on her ties with Epstein, Maxwell and Andrew, and there is no suggestion she or Balazs were aware of or involved in any of Epstein and Maxwell's criminal activities.

Katherine was contacted for comment on this story.

Sometime after establishing herself in the Big Apple, the 43-year-old traded her east coast lifestyle for the bright lights of Los Angeles. Documents indicating a recent transatlantic move suggest she may now have London in her sights.

According to property records, she lived in a US$2.5million (AU$3.77million) home in Laurel Canyon, a leafy Hollywood Hills enclave that towers above Sunset Boulevard.

The mid-century modern home was designed by Dutch architect John Sjoberg.

Katherine was not at the residence when Daily Mail called by last week, and nor was she at her sister Alexandra's home, just steps away up the road.

Alexandra, 40, also lives in Laurel Canyon with her husband, film director Rupert Sanders, who is infamous for cheating on his ex-wife Liberty Ross with actress Kristen Stewart in 2012.

Kristen and Rupert were photographed kissing in her car in Los Angeles. She had starred in the film Snow White and the Huntsman, which Rupert directed and Liberty also acted in.
