watch the water…

New Hampshire water source was purchased by Chinese Billionaire's water bottling company

While this is bad for obvious reasons, the water is most likely contaminated with PFAS.

I live less than 5 minutes from this pond and the Nashua River flows into it. The Nashua River also runs into the pond on the other side of me, which is where my well water comes from.

Two of my neighbors has had their well water tested and came back 6x the amount for PFAS. We had ours tested and are awaiting results. It's most likely contaminated. PFAS causes all kinds of cancers; especially kidney and prostrate, among others. The State of NH pays for the testing if it comes back positive, and will pay $5k towards rectifying the issue–but that only covers ONE SINK to have a filter. It's thousands more to have a full-house system, which we'll have to pay for. Do you think the Chinese Billionaire will pay to have the water he steals from our wells filtered?

Here are a couple of GLP links where this issue has been discussed recently:

"Granite Staters:

Please come to voice your concern regarding the recent purchase by Chinese beverage company, Nongfu Spring, of a critical site impacting Nashua’s Pennichuck water system.

8/12 – Nashua Alderman Meeting – 7:30 Pm

Nashua City Hall

229 Main Street, Nashua, NH

Aldermanic Chambers, located on the 2nd floor

Nongfu Spring, the largest Chinese bottled water company, owned by the richest man in China, Zhong Shanshan, purchased the site in Nashua on January 31, 2025, for $67 million, over four times the appraised value at $15 million, for a beverage plant that will draw significant water from Nashua’s Pennichuck water system.

The plant site borders Pennichuck Creek upstream of Pennichuck Water Works critical infrastructure, is in the flight path of Nashua Airport, and is also near the Nashua FAA Control Center and defense contractors such as BAE. New Boston Space Force Station, Portsmouth Naval shipyard and Joint Base Cape Cod are not too far away."
