>drone was providing over watch
The question is if the truck was sitting at the crossing when the command was given to brake the train, or if the drone tracking it determined the ETA at the crossing was the same for both train and truck.
If the truck was sitting on the tracks, I don't know why the riders in the cab didn't get out.
OTOH, If the truck timed the run at the crossing for the arrival of the train, then the truck must have been tracking the train. The truck would have had to slow down as the train braked.
Either way, sitting on the tracks waiting to be hit, or ramming the train at the crossing was a suicide mission for the people in the truck.
One person in the truck allegedly walked away, so I have to consider the scenario that a commando took over the truck, incapacitated the two occupants, then parked the truck on the tracks and got out.
Of course, it could also be as simple as the truck trying to beat the train, and the drone, knowing that road was supposed to have been closed told the engineer to brake as a precaution due to the breach in protocol. Could have been a bomb or guns in the truck, so dangerous even if halted at the crossing.
