Arizona to Pilot Overseas UOCAVA Voting Program Using Voter’s “Personal Device,” to Include Cell Phones

"Historically, UOCAVA voters in Arizona were required to waive their right to a secret ballot to vote due to how those ballots were processed once they were returned to Arizona's county election officials.

Enhanced Ballot also makes it much easier for voters, particularly those in locations where they may not have access to a printer or scanner. The new system allows voters to complete the entire voting process from a personal device, including signing their ballot affidavit. However, the system still allows voters to print and mail their ballot, giving voters more flexibility and control over their voting experience while providing security for all choices.

The system has undergone rigorous testing, and contingency plans are in place; all ballots will be processed using Logic & Accuracy tested tabulators using paper ballots. Launching this new Enhanced Voting UOCAVA voting system for the Congressional District 7 Special Election allows for only a limited number of voters to be impacted, and the system is being treated as a pilot program to allow for flexibility and learning during this election. The system will be used statewide in future elections.

“This is the upgrade we’ve been working toward for 20 years,” Fontes added. “We’ve been doing electronic delivery and return for nearly two decades and this system finally brings the increased security and anonymity our voters deserve.”

The AZSOS received a grant from the Department of Defense’s Federal Voting Assistance Program for $2 million in 2023 and Enhanced Voting was the vendor chosen to provide the technology required to administer the new system. The grant was made available by FVAP to encourage states to improve the voting process of UOCAVA voters, many of which are military personnel. According to FVAP, about three-quarters of the 1.3 million active-duty military members are eligible to vote by UOCAVA because they're stationed away from their voting residence. However, as of 2022, only 63% registered and only 26% voted.

One of the reasons the state chose Enhanced Voting to provide support for this initiative is their excellent reputation for cybersecurity protection. The Enhanced Ballot received Rabet-V certification from the Center for Internet Security, the only product of its kind to receive this certification. A veteran career intelligence officer who spent more than a decade working for Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee repeatedly warned the FBI—beginning in 2017—that then-Rep. Adam Schiff had personally approved leaking classified information to smear then-President Donald Trump over the now-debunked Russiagate hoax.

Schiff became the face of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative, shamelessly reading the discredited Steele dossier into the congressional record and falsely claiming to have seen intelligence proving Trump’s guilt—claims that were pure fiction.

According to JusttheNews.com, these new bombshell allegations are detailed in FBI memos that Director Kash Patel has now turned over to Congress, exposing Schiff’s brazen use of intelligence as a political weapon.

The FBI 302 interview reports obtained by Just the News state the intelligence staffer — a Democrat by party affiliation who described himself as a friend to both Schiff, now a California senator, and former Republican House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes — considered the classified leaking to be "unethical," "illegal," and “treasonous,” but was told not to worry about it because Schiff believed he would be spared prosecution under the Constitution's speech and debate clause.

No publicly-disclosed opinion from the Attorney General or the Solicitor General can be found making that determination as a matter of law.

But officials told Just the News that DOJ officials showed little interest in pursuing Schiff when the allegations were brought to them years ago, citing the very same excuse the lawmaker had offered.

A 2023 FBI interview proved pivotal. The whistleblower described meetings where Schiff authorized leaks calibrated to discredit Trump, going so far as to declare the leaks would help lead to an indictment:

When working in this capacity, [redacted staffer's name] was called to an all-staff meeting by SCHIFF. In this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information which was derogatory to President of the United States DONALD J. TRUMP. SCHIFF stated the information would be used to indict President TRUMP.

According to the whistleblower he "stated this would be illegal and, upon hearing his concerns, unnamed members of the meeting reassured that they would not be caught leaking classified information.”

Unfortunately, the leaks no longer fall within the statute of limitations, effectively shielding Schiff from prosecution. Meanwhile, as we’ve previously reported, he’s recently faced referral to the DOJ for suspected mortgage fraud, making this pattern of ethical lapses impossible to ignore.

In other words, the much-vaunted war on drugs has been going on for a very long time. It is still going on. It will go on forever. Children today will be living under the drug war when they become adults and probably until the day they die.

Today, DEA agents, federal prosecutors, and federal judges continue to do the same things that federal officials have been doing our entire lives. They arrest people who possess or distribute drugs. They prosecute them. They jail them.

And the process just keeps repeating itself, year after year, decade after decade forever.

Do all these federal officials really believe that their efforts will somehow bring victory in the war on drugs? I can’t believe they do. Nobody can be that obtuse. Every single DEA agent, U.S. Attorney and Assistant U.S. Attorney, and federal judge in the land has to know that what they are doing is just mindlessly repeating what their counterparts were doing 40 years in their effort to win the war on drugs.

It’s just a continuous stream of arrests, prosecutions, and prison sentences, with no end in sight. Forty years from now, when today’s crop of DEA agents, prosecutors, and federal judges are retired or dead, there will be the new crop of DEA agents, prosecutors, and federal judges doing the exact same thing.

And for what? What do they accomplish? Nothing. They bust one drug dealer and ten more pop up to take his place. That’s the way black markets work.

Moreover, if this were a cost-free exercise, that would be one thing. But it’s not. Along with all the taxpayer money that goes into this mindless federal program are violence, drug gangs, drug cartels, official corruption, turf wars, murders, and, of course, the destruction of the civil liberties and privacy of the American people.

Hegseth Warns U.S. Enemies: ‘I Want To Know Who Owns The Land Around Our Bases’

Speaking on Tuesday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth sent a warningthat the Trump administration would investigate who is buying land around U.S. military bases in the homeland.

“Congressional Republicans have introduced companion bills to halt Chinese purchases outright, and the Pentagon is aligning with USDA and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to identify and shut down high-risk acquisitions,” North Carolina journalist Sloan Rachmuth noted on Substack.

“I want to know who owns the land around our bases and strategic bases, and getting an understanding of why foreign entities, foreign companies, foreign individuals, might be buying up land around those bases,” Hegseth asserted. “That’s something I should be paying attention to on behalf of the American people, on behalf of my department and on behalf of the president. It’s common sense. And so, food security, just like energy resilience, just like where we get our water, that’s all national security, especially in a contingency.”

“So we would be asleep at the wheel if we were not fully a party to an effort like this to ensure that our nation had the food supply it needs, but specifically our troops have what they need on our basis so that in those moments, you can rely on us here in the United States to provide that security,” he continued, warning, “So no longer can foreign adversaries assume we’re not watching and we’re not paying attention and we’re not doing something because we are.”

In April, Rep. Pat Harrigan (R-NC) introduced the Military Installation Retail Security Act, which would ban companies owned by enemy nations from operating retail stores on U.S. military installations. In October 2023, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) introduced the “Protect Our Bases Act,” which would “require the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to annually review and update the facilities and property of the United States Government determined to be national security sensitive for purposes of review of real estate transactions.”

In the North Carolina Senate, lawmakers introduced the NC Farmland and Military Protection Act, which would bar any foreign government from buying land within a 25-mile radius of military installations. The North Carolina House is considering a similarly named bill, which would increase that radius to 75 miles. North Carolina is the home of Fort Bragg, Pope Army Airfield, and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, among other military bases.

“Agriculture is our largest industry, generating $111 billion a year and covering over 8 million acres. The military is our second-largest sector, adding up to $80 billion annually and supporting more than 650,000 jobs,” Rachmuth noted. “Allowing hostile governments to buy farmland near these sites is not just an economic risk — it’s a direct threat to operational security. Property near runways, radar stations, or training grounds can be used for surveillance equipment, drone staging, or subtle encroachment on military activities.”

In 2023, the people of North Dakota saw a Chinese plan for opening a corn mill near a sensitive military base and took matters into their own hands, blocking the project.

The Grand Forks City Council, aware that the U.S. military did not have jurisdiction to kill the project, voted unanimously in February 2023 to block Chinese food producer Fufeng Group from building the mill only 12 miles from the Grand Forks Air Force Base. In spring 2022, three North Dakotans sold the land for millions of dollars; the town’s mayor, Brandon Bochenski, pointed out that the proposed $700 million plant would create more than 200 jobs, but also admitted there were national security concerns.

Syrian Government Faces Increasing Accusations Over Torture, Murder

Syria’s new Islamist-led interim government is facing increasing accusations of torture and murder, amid a wave of violence all over the country.

Murders are being reported in Syria on a daily basis. In many cases, government forces, especially the so-called General Security Service (GSS), are accused by families of the victims or activists of committing, facilitating or covering up the murders themselves.

While the government is making promises to reform its forces, the rate of crimes is increasing. In just under a month, there have been at least six prominent cases where the GSS or forces affiliated with the government were involved in a way or another.

On July 24, Ahmad Khadour, an Alawite civilian man, was beaten to death at a GSS checkpoint near the town of Karto in the governorate of Tartus. The personnel killed Khadour and arrested three other men who were with them because he refused to “bark like a dog,” according to activists.

Initially, the GSS completely ignored the crime. Only after the cease gained some attention from the public, the force released a statement announcing the arrest of the personnel who killed the man. However, instead of acknowledging what happened, the force in fact attempted to justify the crime, claiming that Khadour, who had just returned to Syria, was wanted and that he resisted arrest.

The government’s story led to legitimate questions about the arrests made, with activists suggesting that the personnel behind the crime, whose photos and identities were not revealed, were likely released right away and deployed in another area.

While Khadour’s murder was clearly motivated by sectarian hatred, this is not always the case. On July 29, Yusuf al-Labad, a devoted Sunni Muslim and a supporter of the new government, was reportedly killed by the GSS inside of the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus.

Like Khadour, al-Labad had just returned from abroad, namely from Germany. He reportedly planned to stay for a few days in the Umayyad before meeting his family. However, his seclusion came to a tragic end when he was arrested by the GSS for no clear reason then beaten to death in the mosque detention room.

The government released a statement addressing the crime, but instead of taking responsibility, it accused the man of being mentally ill. The statement basically said that al-Labad started acting frantically and when he was apprehended by the GSS, he slammed his body against the wall to death. These accusations were refused by his family, which noted that the man’s medical records in Germany show that he was completely sane.

Iran, Israel Exchange Threats Of Assassinations

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on August 11 renewed his threats to the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei, causing more tensions.

The new threat to the Islamic Republic was a response to what Katz said was a Hebrew-language graphic circulated by Tehran marking senior Israeli officials as assassination targets, including “Terror Minister Israel Katz.”

The same graphic included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom it accuses of crimes against humanity; Israeli Air Force chief Tomer Bar, whom it brands a “murderer of children”; and many other senior officials.

“I suggest to Iranian dictator Khamenei that when he leaves his bunker, he occasionally lift his eyes to the sky and listen carefully to every buzz,” Katz wrote on X, apparently referring to Israeli drone activity.

The Iranian graphic appeared to be heavily inspired by one used by the Israeli military during the 12-day war on Iran earlier this year.

Israel started the war on June 13, stating that its goal was to cripple Iran’s nuclear program. The war ended when a ceasefire was suddenly announced on June 24, just two days after the United States joined the war by attacking three key nuclear sites in Iran.

More than 30 senior Iranian military officials and around a dozen of the Islamic Republic’s leading nuclear scientists were assassinated during the war. It was later revealed that these killings were a part of an operation codenamed “Red Wedding” , the infamous scene in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series and HBO series “Game of Thrones,” in which several main characters were slain in a surprise attack.

In his post on X, Katz warned the Iranian Supreme Leader that the “participants of the ‘Red Wedding’ are waiting for him.”

U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Khamenei amid the war, posting on Truth Social: “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”

Katz revealed later in July that Israel sought to assassinate Khamenei during the war with Iran, but couldn’t locate the leader.

“If he had been in our sights, we would have taken him out,” he said at the time, adding that Israel “searched a lot” for Khamenei, but the operational opportunity did not arise.

The assassination of Quds Force commander Qassim Suleimani by the U.S. in 2020 and the later death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a 2024 suspicious accident, left Khamenei as the last hardline figure with major influence in the Islamic Republic.

While Israel claims that at no point it was trying to topple the Iranian government during the recent war, Katz’s previous and new threats suggest otherwise. The Islamic Republic is taking these threats seriously. In June it was reported that Khamenei appointed three potential successors.

Pentagon Plan Would Create Military 'Reaction Force' for Civil Unrest

The Trump administration is evaluating plans to create units composed of hundreds of National Guard troops tasked with rapidly deploying into U.S. cities facing protests or unrest, The Washington Post reported Tuesday, citing internal Pentagon documents.

The "Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force" plan calls for 600 troops, split into two groups of 300, to be on standby at all times so they can deploy in as little as one hour, the Post reported.

The troops would be stationed at military bases in Alabama and Arizona, the documents showed.

A Defense Department official refused to confirm the report in a statement to Newsmax.

"The Department of Defense is a planning organization and routinely reviews how the department would respond to a variety of contingencies across the globe. We will not discuss these plans through leaked documents, pre-decisional or otherwise," the official said.

The report came a day after President Donald Trump announced he was taking federal control of the police department in Washington, D.C., and insinuated that five other cities could face a similar effort from his administration, Newsweek reported.

Trump said the attempt to address crime and homelessness would "go further" than D.C., as he specifically named Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Oakland, California.

Trump's willingness to employ the armed forces on American soil relies on a section of U.S. Code that allows the commander in chief to circumvent limitations on the military's use within the United States, the Post reported.

The "Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force" documents, although marked predecisional, are comprehensive and address potential societal implications of such a program.

The documents, bearing time stamps as recent as early this month, were compiled by National Guard officials.

The Post reported the plan could begin in fiscal year 2027 if funded through the Defense Department's traditional budgetary process. It was unclear whether the initiative could begin sooner through alternative funding.

Several people protested in front of a hotel in Tel Aviv where the management of the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF) is staying, including its CEO, John Acree. This is the first protest in Israel against GHF's staff.

The protesters said they would demonstrate "until the siege (on Gaza) is lifted, GHF is dismantled and food flows freely to the Strip."

One protester said, "Every day they operate under a false humanitarian cover. Palestinians die of hunger or are shot trying to survive. We will not let them hide comfortably in their hotel while Gaza is starving."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is seeking a deal to release all of the hostages and that partial deals are "behind us," in an interview with i24 News. It is time to end the war, he said.

Discussing the army's plan to take over central Gaza, Netanyahu said Israel will first allow the population to leave before the army enters. Gaza City, in central Gaza, is Hamas' last stronghold, he said.

Netanyahu also said residents should be allowed to leave the Gaza Strip if they would like, as has happened during other wars, like in Syria, Ukraine and Afghanistan. For countries that want to help Palestinians, "open your doors," he said.

The prime minister also accused former officials and the "Kaplan movement" of spreading misinformation. He added that some military leaders had opposed entering Rafah, assassinating Hezbollah's former secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah and carrying out the pager operation in Lebanon.

He said one side of the political spectrum (the left) is given more leeway and that he is scared for his safety and the safety of his family. Calls to murder him and his family have been normalized, he said.

Speaking about the recent war with Iran, Netanyahu said Israel would have carried out the strike on the nuclear program with or without U.S. support, but praised U.S. President Donald Trump for strengthening ties with Israel.

Trump Must Take Out Deep State Now – Larry Klayman

Renowned attorney Larry Klayman says the coming indictments of the Deep State traitors who tried to frame President Trump as a Russian spy in his first term are all in serious trouble. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard charges that Obama Administration officials politicized intelligence and laid the groundwork for a “years-long coup” against President Donald Trump after he won the 2016 election. Gabbard first uncovered a mountain of documents implicating many in the so-called Deep State.

Gabbard claimed in a post on X that former President Barack Obama and key members of his national security team, including then-CIA Director John Brennan and then-DNI James Clapper, fabricated a narrative about Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election to “subvert” Trump’s presidency. They even made up evidence, such as the so-called Steele Dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton. They were all lies to make President Trump look bad. If these people are not stopped now while Trump is in office, and in control of the DOJ, then they will come after him when he is out of office and no longer in power. Klayman says, “Why is this different from the past? . . .. President Trump and the people around him, including Tulsi Gabbard, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, Dan Bongino and others, have learned what they are up against. They’ve tried now to assassinate the President twice. I believe the Left and the Democrats were behind it. I think they wanted him dead. They did not want him (Trump) to be elected. There was also all the lawfare (like warfare) over the last many years. It’s obvious Trump and his team have come to the conclusion that they have to get the Left and the Deep State before they get them.”

Klayman says President Trump is at greater risk now than anytime in the past. Klayman explains, “Because President Trump has been so successful thus far, he is at great risk. There will likely be other assassination attempts and on the lives of other people in the cabinet. There will be attempts of assassination of anybody who supports him. I was in California recently, and I was wearing my Trump inauguration jacket from 2017, and some guy starts screaming I was a Nazi and this and that. I did not respond because I was in the middle of a bank. There is so much hatred out there, and this is why they have to take these people out legally and peacefully.”

Klayman points out people have the right to defend themselves, especially in the home, and Klayman urges people to use their Second Amendment rights if and when there is a need to do so. As the indictments come down in the not-so-distant future, expect violence. Klayman says, “The Left has its back up against the wall. They are a drowning man, so to speak. . .. There will be violence. They will try to foment violence.

Who is likely to be indicted? Klayman names a few for starters. This list includes John Brennan, James Clapper, Peter Strzok and Mark Elias. Then Klayman predicts, “They will first go for the low hanging fruit before they get to Hillary Clinton and other higher ups. They will see if they can flip them. This time it’s different, and this time I believe there will be some accountability.”
