Woman shot Wednesday morning near JCPS elementary school
This happened near the same bus stop where a teen fired a gun last week.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman was shot Wednesday morning near a JCPS elementary school.
Just before 8 a.m., a person was shot at 11th and Chestnut streets, near Coleridge-Taylor Elementary School, according to a Louisville Metro Police Department news release.
A witness also told WHAS11 News they saw the shooting happen.
Coleridge-Taylor Elementary was under a brief lockdown but has since reopened.
LMPD is currently on scene. Chief of Police Paul Humphrey arrived on scene at around 8:30 a.m.
LMPD didn't share any other information about the shooting.
This happened near a bus stop where shots were fired last week. A teen was arrested in connection to that shooting.
WHAS11 News is working to get more information from police and we will update this story with more information as we learn more.
