Maybe not important, and I could be wrong, but I smoked for several decades and never saw anyone hold a cigarette like this.

It looks like the way someone holds their keys for self-defense when walking through a dangerous area, with one key sticking out through their fist in case they need to strike at someone. (Though this method is considered incorrect by most who teach self defense.)

If it's a weapon like this, we have to wonder what he was doing walking around with it in the street. E.g., was he fearful for his safety, or about to commit an assault, or MK triggered and not under his own control?
