Trump to outlaw mail-in ballots and voting machines in fraud crackdown: 'THEY CHEAT AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE'

Donald Trump is back to bashing mail-in ballots and says he will sign an executive order outlawing the voting method. The president snubbed the expansion of mail-in voting in the 2020 election to accommodate for the pandemic.

He said mail-in ballots caused widespread 'fraud' that he claims is to blame for his loss to Joe Biden.

But four years later during his successful 2024 campaign, he repeatedly pushed his supporters to embrace voting by mail.

The pendulum swung again on Monday when the president took to his Truth Social to slam the idea of voting in elections by mail ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Trump said he will be 'leaving a movement to get rid of mail-in ballots' and overhaul voting machines that he claims were used by Democrats to steal that 2020 election for Joe Biden.

He did not give a timeline for issuance of an executive order on ending the voting method, though it's likely to come before the 2026 midterm elections as Republicans aim to hold onto their majorities in the House and Senate.

Over the weekend, video emerged showing a local lawmaker and an accomplice stuffing papers into a ballot drop box in Michigan ahead of local elections.

Abu Musa, a city council member of Hamtramck, Michigan, was seen handing bundles of what appear to be absentee ballots to the vehicle's driver, who then deposited them into a drop box. Michigan State Police confirmed the authenticity of the clip, which was filmed August 1 just before the city's latest primary election on August 5.

Musa won that election with more than 1,129 votes.

Trump kicked off his rant by claiming that the U.S. is the 'only country in the world that uses mail-in voting.'

'All others gave it up because of the massive voter fraud encountered,' Trump claimed.

But many nations use mail-in voting – including countries whose leaders are convening at the White House on Monday.

Some countries that have no-excuse mail-in voting, meaning they do not need a reason to vote by mail rather than in person, are Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, Spain, and many others.

There are also many countries that offer conditional or limited mail-in voting options. Trump, despite pushing mail-in voting and early voting on his supporters in the 2024 election, says that Democrats are using the 'mail-in ballot hoax' because they can't win elections through traditional in-person voting.

'Democrats are virtually unelectable without using this completely disproven mail-in scam,' Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added: 'Elections can never be honest with mail-in ballots/voting, and everybody, in particular the Democrats, knows this.'

Versant to rename MSNBC, drop famed peacock logos in Comcast separation

MSNBC will change its name later this year and drop the storied peacock image from its branding — the first real public-facing changes in Versant’s upcoming separation from Comcast’s NBCUniversal.

The political news network will be renamed My Source News Opinion World, or MS Now, Versant Chief Executive Officer Mark Lazarus wrote in an internal memo to employees that was seen by CNBC.

In January, Lazarus told a group of MSNBC staffers that the network wouldn’t change its name. But during the past few months of transition planning, NBCUniversal leaders decided MSNBC should take on a new name “to accelerate the distinction between the MSNBC and NBC News organizations,” Lazarus wrote in the memo Monday.

MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler added in her own note to employees that the news group’s focus won’t change.

“While our name will be changing, who we are and what we do will not. Our commitment to our work and our audiences will not waiver from what the brand promise has been for three decades,” she wrote.

MSNBC has been undergoing aggressive hiring for about 100 new positions to stand up its own newsroom independent from NBC News. The network has already hired about 40 journalists from CNN, Bloomberg, Politico and other news organizations to establish its first-ever Washington, D.C., bureau.

“During this time of transition, NBCUniversal decided that our brand requires a new, separate identity,” Kutler wrote. “This decision now allows us to set our own course and assert our independence as we continue to build our own modern newsgathering operation.”

While MSNBC and NBC News will have duplications in coverage, CNBC’s news organization is already separate enough from NBC News that executives decided it didn’t need a name change. Also, technically, the “NBC” in “CNBC” never stemmed from National Broadcasting Co. Rather, CNBC stands for “Consumer News and Business Channel.”

Still, CNBC will likewise be getting a new logo without the famed NBCUniversal peacock. This will be true for all of Versant’s brands that have a peacock in the logo. Sports content on the USA Network and Golf Channel will be branded together under USA Sports. Digital companies GolfNow and SportsEngine will also change their logos.

The MSNBC name change and the new logos will all be introduced before the end of the year, when Versant plans to spin out as a publicly traded company.

MSNBC will soon kick off a national marketing campaign to accompany the launch of the new name, “unlike anything we have done in recent memory,” Kutler noted in her memo Monday.

MSNBC is the second-most watched cable news network, averaging 1.2 million prime-time viewers year to date. The network has 28 on-air anchors, 21 correspondents and reporters, and provides more than 120 hours of live programming each week. (That’s a complete lie, hence why they are changing the name)

Fox News averaged 3.012 million total primetime viewers and 380,000 Adults 25-54 viewers in Q1 2025. During total day, Fox News had 1.919 million total viewers, and 247,000 demo viewers.

Looking at its performance compared to the same quarter in 2024, FNC was up +46% in total viewers and +63% in the demo during primetime. In total day, the network was up a respective +48% and +58% in those measured categories.

According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News’ rule at the top of cable news has now stretched to 93 consecutive quarters.

Fox News was the most-watched cable network during primetime in total viewers and the second most-watched network in the demo and repeated those positions during total day.

MSNBC

In primetime, MSNBC averaged 1.024 million total viewers and 96,000 demo viewers. During total day, MSBNC had 593,000 total viewers and 57,000 A25-54 viewers.

Relative to Q1 2024, the network was down -18% in total viewers and -21% in the demo during primetime. MSNBC dropped a respective -27% and -30% in those measured categories during total day.

Despite the downward trend, MSNBC has seen an uptick since January.MSNBC was the third most-watched cable network in total viewers andNo. 19 in the demo. During total day, MSNBC landed in third place in total viewers and 12th in the demo.

Trump weaponization czar teases ‘more’ developments with Schiff, warns J6 Committee alums to ‘keep an eye on their mailbox’

President Trump’s weaponization czar Ed Martin dropped hints that his team may soon take additional investigative actions against Sen. Adam Schiff and members of the since-defunct House Select Jan. 6 Committee who weren’t pardoned by former president Joe Biden.

Martin, who helms the Justice Department’s Weaponization Working Group, took note of the criminal probe of Schiff (D-Calif.) over allegations of mortgage fraud and strongly implied something else is in the works.

“There’s a referral from Bill Pulte about mortgage fraud about Adam Schiff. That’s publicly discussed. His own lawyers have been out there,” Martin told Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.”

“Now there’s more on Adam Schiff.”Martin did not specify what else could be coming down the pike.

Back in May, Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte referred Schiff to the Justice Department for “multiple instances” between 2003 and 2019 when the senator allegedly “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms.”

This includes accusations that he listed his Maryland home as a primary residence in multiple mortgage refinancing filings despite being an elected member of Congress from California at the time.

Some lawmakers have homes in both their states and in the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia area during their time in Congress. But Pulte alleged that Schiff also sought a similar exemption on a Burbank, Calif., condo that he also dubbed his primary residence.

In a separate matter, Schiff recently faced surfaced accusations from a former Democratic House Intelligence Committee aide who alleged the then-congressman approved leaks of classified information to harm President Trump during the height of Russiagate.

It is unclear if those allegations are what Martin was referencing. DOJ officials concluded Schiff may have had liability protections for those leaks under the speech and debate clause of the Constitution, according to an FBI memo on the accusations obtained by The Post.“All we’re going to do, again, is get to the facts of this and use all the tools that we have in our system,” Martin stressed.

Last week, Martin was seen in Brooklyn checking out New York Attorney General Letitia James’ multi-family residential property that is subject to a mortgage fraud inquiry.

Pulte alleged that the AG may have “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government-backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms.”

Similar to the Schiff accusations, Pulte alleged that James declared a Norfolk, Virginia, property purchased in 2023 her “principal residence” while calling her Brooklyn brownstone she’s owned since 2001 her second residence.

Beyond Schiff and James, Martin also teased that he is reviewing members of the since-defunct House Select Jan. 6 Committee, despite Biden’s sweeping 11th-hour pardon for the panel.

“We’re all in that too,” Martin said.“A lot of people did not get a pardon that were involved in the select committee, and they ought to be keeping an eye on their mailbox, because there’s a lot to be asked about.”

Martin didn’t specify names, but noted that US Attorney General Pam Bondi “let us loose on” issues of alleged government weaponization.

Trump ally says criminal investigations into Obama and Biden are imminent

Trump ally and Republican lawyer Mike Davis has long been pushing for criminal investigations into former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, as well as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and top FBI, CIA, and Department of Justice officials.

A number of investigations approved by Attorney General Pam Bondi indicate that Davis may soon achieve his goal. Bondi has approved two federal criminal investigations into New York Attorney General Letitia James and California Senator Adam Schiff.Bondi also ordered an unnamed federal prosecutor to start a grand jury investigationof whether Obama administration officials committed federal crimes when they looked into Russia’s actions during the 2016 election.

Bondi’s instructions came just weeks after Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, accused Obama and his aides of having taken part in a “treasonous conspiracy,” adding that she sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice.

“This is the greatest conspiracy in American history,” Davis claimed during a recent interview with NBC News. He also suggested that the Democrats had orchestrated plots against Trump. “There must be the most severe legal, political, and financial consequences for this unprecedented weaponization. This must never happen again.”

Obama, Biden, Clinton, as well as the former officials at the FBI, Department of Justice, and CIA have all rejected the allegations on repeated occasions. Democrats have argued that the new investigations are an effort to take the spotlight away from Trump’s abuse of power and failure to release the Jeffrey Epstein files. (No one is thinking about Epstein, that excuse is caput)

Former top FBI and Department of Justice officials have noted that a special counsel appointed by Trump and Republican senators has already investigated the assertions and discovered no crimes. They referred to the idea as “absurd,” “bananas,” and “insane,” according to NBC News. (KEK that sounds like fear to me)

Davis told the network that he doesn’t know of Bondi’s next steps, but he lauded the Senate confirmation of Jason Reding Quiñones, a new U.S. attorney in South Florida, calling him a friend whom he pushed senators to back.

“I want Jason to set up his own grand jury and pursue this aggressively,” said Davis.“And I want him to put criminals in prison for a very long time.”

He argued that Quiñones should convene a special federal grand jury to investigate what he claimed was a Democratic conspiracy to take down Trump, going all the way from the 2016 campaign to the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago in 2022 to today.

Three former Justice Department and FBI officials told NBC News that the search was conducted properly, that it was approved by a federal judge, and was in response to actions taken by Trump.

The officials noted that the National Archives initially informed them that Trump appeared to have classified materials following his first term in office. Trump went on to reject requests that he return the documents for a year. A former top Justice Department official told NBC News that Davis's call for a criminal investigation is “outrageous.”

“The Democrats set the precedent that former presidents are fair game,”said Davis.

An anonymous former top national security official told NBC News: “Either Bondi and Gabbard know that there is indeed no evidence of any criminal activity, in which case it’s completely corrupt and a political stunt.” “Or, more darkly, they actually believe this stuff and are acting out of authoritarian instinct, and this is something out of Orwell,” the ex-official added.

Republicans have accused former federal prosecutor and Columbia Law School professor Daniel Richman of conspiring with former FBI Director James Comey. Richman told NBC News that it’s possible to file criminal charges based on debunked claims. “If you’re willing to ignore the facts, you can come up with criminal charges,” he told the network.
