BlackRock CEO Larry Fink Appointed to Lead the World Economic Forum

Reuters reported that last week, the World Economic Forum (WEF) closed an investigation on its founder Klaus Schwab, 87, clearing him of any wrongdoing after a whistleblower alleged the Schwab family mixed their personal affairs with the forum’s resources without proper oversight. Schwab filed a criminal complaint and separate legal action against the whistleblowers; he intends to drop the cases.

WEF appointed BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and Roche Holding’s vice-chair Andre Hoffmann as interim co-chairs of its board. They said that they look forward to reinventing and strengthening the organization.

Senior, 76, Died While Trying to Meet Meta AI Chatbot ‘Big sis Billie’ that He Thought Was Real Woman

Thongbue Wongbandue, a 76-year old man from New Jersey who had cognitive problems after a stroke in 2017, died while trying to meet a flirtatious AI chatbot. The AI character, ‘Big sis Billie,’ flirted with him and convinced him that it was a real woman living in New York, and the bot even asked him to come visit and provided a New York address. Wongbandue fatally injured his neck and head after falling in a New Brunswick parking lot while rushing to catch a train to meet ‘Big sis Billie’.

Documents show that that Meta does not restrict its chatbots from telling users they are “real” people.

Reuters reported on an internal Meta Platforms document entitled “GenAI: Content Risk Standards” detailed policies on chatbot behavior that has permitted the company’s artificial intelligence creations to “engage a child in conversations that are romantic or sensual,” generate false medical information and help users argue that Black people are “dumber than White people.”
