Israeli military spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin confirmed there was a strike 'in the area of Nasser hospital in Khan Younis,' in a statement posted to X

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says an Israeli strike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip was a “tragic mishap.”

He said in a statement Monday that Israel “values the work of journalists, medical staff and all civilians,” and that the military is investigating.

Israeli military spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin confirmed there was a strike “in the area of Nasser hospital in Khan Younis,” in a statement posted to X on Monday.

The IDF’s chief of the general staff, Rav Aluf Eyal Zamir, has ordered an inquiry into what happened and how it happened.

The strike on one of the main hospitals in the Gaza Strip killed at least 20 people, including five journalists, and injured scores more, according to officials from the health ministry, which is run by Hamas.

Defrin said the IDF does not target civilians and had launched an internal investigation into the strikes. He accused Hamas of hiding among civilians but did not say whether Israel believed any fighters were present during the strikes on the hospital. Continue…

The confrontation comes after Capital Pride quietly took down its statement of solidarity with Palestinians this year, sparking criticism among some members of the community.

Hundreds of Palestinian supporters blocked the Capital Pride Parade shortly after it began Sunday afternoon, demanding parade officials come down and meet their “demands.”

Protesters gathered on Wellington Street near O’Connor, dancing to music while holding up signs and Palestinian flags. Many signs said “no pride in genocide.”

A giant pink-and-black banner read “all of us or none of us” and “stone wall was an intifada.” They also chanted slogans like “free, free Palestine,” “long live the intifada” and “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

“We will not leave until our elected officials and Capital Pride come down and meet our demands,” said Masha Davidovic, a member of Queers for Palestine-Ottawa group.

At about 2:30 p.m., the decision was made to cancel the remainder of the parade.

Shopify adds new restrictions on merchants selling 'hateful' and offensive products

A store was selling Holocaust-denial merchandise after a ban on hateful content was removed from acceptable use policy in 2024

Shopify Inc. tightened rules against “hateful content” as users sell racist merchandise using its popular e-commerce platform, roughly a year after removing a similar ban.

A company help page describing prohibited product types on its app and payment system Shop was updated since May to add a ban on “products promoting hateful content, violence, gore, profanity or offensive content,” based on archived versions of the website reviewed by Bloomberg News.

It’s a policy reversal for Canada’s most valuable technology company. Last July, Shopify removed a ban on hateful content from its acceptable use policy. That hasn’t been reinstated, but new rules have come in for merchants who use its Shop sales channel, which has “additional prohibited product types,” according to the website. Continue…

'''Kelowna Presentation: The Harmful Consequences We Cannot Ignore

Exposing the COVID injection harms and steps you can take to protect your health'''

"Across Canada, medical professionals faced intense pressure to comply with the COVID-19 "vaccine" agenda. Provincial health laws, such as British Columbia's Health Professions Act, have transformed medical licensing into a tool of coercion–mandating doctors, nurses, and other health practitioners to accept injections for themselves and administer them to patients, under threat of huge fines, license revocations, or even jail time. This has obstructed public access to ethical, evidence-based healthcare, while shutting down scientific discourse."

Toronto man faces charges for filming a police station

The Democracy Fund will be assisting the legal defence of Chad Briand, a Charter auditor, who is facing charges for filming outside of a police station.

Chad Briand, a Toronto resident and Charter auditor, is entangled in a legal battle after filming outside a police station in February 2025.

The Democracy Fund (TDF), a charity dedicated to defending constitutional rights, has stepped in to support him, highlighting the ongoing tension between individual freedoms and state overreach in Canada.

While peacefully recording on public property, Briand was approached, questioned and arrested by police. Initially charged with obstructing a peace officer under Section 129 of the Criminal Code, he faced an additional harassment charge in July 2025 for an alleged social media post about the arresting officer.

The incident, captured on video and widely shared online, can be viewed here.

Seeking help, Briand turned to TDF for assistance.

On August 18, TDF lawyers appeared in court, formally noted as his counsel. With a Crown pretrial looming, TDF is preparing to vigorously defend Briand’s Charter-protected rights.

“Filming in public, without engaging in unlawful activity, is not a crime,” said Adam Blake-Gallipeau, TDF’s senior litigation counsel. “We are committed to defending Mr. Briand’s Charter-protected rights and ensuring fair treatment under the law.”

Briand expressed gratitude, stating, “I’m thankful for TDF’s support as I fight these charges and stand up for my rights.”
