How the President Can Circumvent GOP Gamesmanship on Appointments

Dr. John Eastman explains how President Trump can force Congress into recess and get his languishing nominees in place.

AUG 20, 2025 JULIE KELLY1/2

DR. JOHN EASTMAN IS A SENIOR FELLOW AT THE CLAREMONT INSTITUTE, AND FORMER PROFESSOR OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAW AND LAW SCHOOL DEAN. HE REPRESENTED PRESIDENT TRUMP IN SEVERAL CHALLENGES TO ILLEGALITY IN THE CONDUCT OF THE 2020 ELECTION.

THERE ARE ABOUT 2.5 MILLION CIVILIAN EMPLOYEES IN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCHOF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE FOR ONLY ONE OFFICER OF THAT BRANCH—THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES—WHO, TOGETHER WITH HIS SELECTED VICE PRESIDENT, SERVE AS THE HEAD AND THE EMBODIMENT OF THE PRINCIPLE OF CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED IN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH. TO ENSURE THAT EXECUTIVE BRANCH EMPLOYEES WORK IN TANDEM WITH THE AGENDA OF THE PRESIDENT ELECTED BY “WE THE PEOPLE,” THERE ARE ABOUT 1300 OFFICERS WHO ARE APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT AFTER THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE U.S. SENATE.

Some of these officers are members of part-time boards and commissions, or ambassadors to a variety of small countries around the world. These employees don’t really have a role in supervising the numerous executive departments and agencies. What remains are about 800 positions that the president can fill with the Senate’s consent, to oversee the vast bureaucracy. And of those remaining 800, about 177 are in “term” positionsor carryovers from the prior administration for which President Trump has not made a replacement nomination.

But he has nominated 371 people thus far, according to the tracker compiled by The Partnership for Public Service and the Washington Post.Of those, the Senate has confirmed only 126.More than half a year into President Trump’s term, these 126 are expected to oversee a bureaucracy of some 2.5 million. To put that in context, President Obama had nearly 300 of his nominees confirmed by this time in his first year in office.

Languishing in the Senate are 241 nominees, including nominees to such national security positions as the inspector general of the CIA, the director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, the inspector general of the Intelligence Community, the general counsel of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the undersecretary for intelligence and analysis at the Department of Homeland Security, the undersecretary for nuclear security at the Department of Energy.

Given the explosive recent revelations and criminal referrals by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbardabout how Obama and Biden administration officials manipulated intelligence assessments to create a phony narrative meant to undermine President Trump’s first administration, these positions should be extremely high priority. So should top positions at the Department of Justice, where the criminal referrals were sent, but even there, key rolessuch as the associate attorney general (the third highest position in the department) and the assistant attorney general for the criminal division, remain languishing in the Senate.

One suspects that President Trump is growing increasingly (and rightfully) frustrated by the inability of the U.S. Senate to act on his nominees for these and many other crucial positions in the Executive branch—particularly since the Senate is ostensibly under majority control of the president’s own party. Yet the Senate, under the leadership of the Senate Majority Leader, RepublicanJohn Thune, adjourned on Saturday night, August 2, without acting on the hundreds of pending nominations. A single U.S. Senatorwill now participate in a charade, convening at 1:00 p.m. every third day for a brief moment in a pro forma session in order to not be formally in “recess.”Why? Because under Article II, Section 2, Clause 3 of the Constitution, the president has the power to appoint people to vacancies when the Senate is in recess for more than 10 days….

Preventing the president from exercising his recess appointment powermay make some sensewhen the Senate is controlled by the opposition party, but when, as now, it is controlled by the president’s own party, whose ability to confirm his nominees has been obstructed by delay tactics of the opposition minority party, the pro forma sessions only serve to reward those trying hamper the president’s ability to get people in placeto help him with the agenda he was elected to pursue.

The House of Representatives began a similar set of every-third-day “pro forma sessions” a week earlier, reportedly to avoid a roll call vote on a call to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.=That makes little sense, however, because the possibility of such a vote will still be there when the House returns from its August recess in September.

So why is the House also in pro forma sessions every third day? Because Article I, Section 5, Clause 4 of the Constitutionprovides that “Neither House, during the Session of Congress, shall, without the Consent of the other, adjourn for more than three days.”So the failure to go into recess and allow President Trump to make recess appointments is back on Majority Leader Thune, and he seems adamant about not taking== a real August recess that would allow the president to exercise his recess appointment power.

There is, however, a constitutional way around this logjam, though the authority has never been utilized. Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution gives the president the authority to “adjourn” the two houses of Congress “to such time as he shall think proper” “in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment.” House Speaker Mike Johnson has it fully within his authority to reconvene the House in a regular session instead of a pro forma session, hold a vote to adjourn for the entire August recess, and request the Senate’s consent to the adjournment. If the Senate refuses to consent, the president’s power to adjourn the Congress until whatever dayhe thinks proper—the date both Houses have already determined to end the “pro forma session” charade and return to full duty in earlySeptember would be a good one—would be triggered, as would his recess appointment power.

Speaker Johnson, the country is waiting for you to act so that President Trump can get his nominees in place and move forward implementing the agenda for which “We the People” voted.

https://www.declassified.live/p/how-the-president-can-circumvent

(You know what’s fucking outrageous, the Republican Senate raced to get Bidan’s pick in.== The real question is why the Senate Reps are blocking his nominees. First they are power hungry because they had to go along with the OBBB and are angry about it. My guess is some of them will be exposed who they are. Tyrants and criminals, who know what Trump will tackle next.)

German Chancellor Merz Says Entitlement Programs No Longer Sustainable

August 25, 2025 | Sundance |

CTH noted several months ago, end the Marshall Plan for Europe and things will change quickly.

Germany is in a tight economic place as a result of: (1) former leftist Chancellor Olaf Scholz alignment with climate change policy, radically changing the German energy base and driving up costs; (2) the financial support for Ukraine; (3) the financial burden of mass African/ME migration, and (4) the new Trump-era EU tariffs that effectively end the Marshall Plan.

Put all four elements together and the German economic contraction is only forecast to worsen. This is the reality that current German Chanceller Fredrich Merz is facing. Thus, as a non-pretending former businessman, Merz recently told his party and the German electorate that current financial conditions no longer support the expansive entitlement state.

Pensions, benefits and even healthcare are potentially going to be impacted.Germans are not happy.

GERMANY – The German welfare state is no longer financially sustainable, Friedrich Merz said on Saturday. The chancellor argued for a fundamental reassessment of the benefits system as spending continues to soar past last year’s record of €47bn (£40bn).

In a state-level party conference meeting on Saturday, Mr Merz said: “The welfare state as we have it today can no longer be financed with what we can economically afford.”

Once the export champion of Europe, Germany’s economyhas slowed dramatically since 2017, with GDP growing by only 1.6 per cent since then versus 9.5 per cent for the rest of the eurozone.

Germany’s economy shrank by 0.2 per cent last year following a 0.3 per cent dip in 2023 – the first time since the early 2000s the economy has retreated two years in a row.

Industrial production fell under the Left-leaning “traffic light” coalition of Olaf Scholzand continues to slide under the new government, with GDP declining by 0.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2025.

Meanwhile, spending on social welfare has exploded, and is set to increase further this year as Germany’s population ages and unemployment rises. Although the majority of benefit recipients are German, large numbers are non-German citizens.

[…] Germany has in place a so-called “debt brake”, which limits how much the government can borrow to fund its spending plans.

Mr Merz’s views on the welfare state are likely to provoke discontent among his Social Democratic Party (SDP) coalition partners, whom he relies on for a thin majority in the Bundestag.

[…]Lars Klingbeil, the SPD leader and vice-chancellor, hit back at Mr Merz’s announcement with calls for increased taxation on top earners. He called for a summit focused on helping industry leaders respond or adapt to US tariffs and said “no option is off the table” when it comes to plugging the 30-billion-euro gap in Germany’s budget. (more) (they have for decades have raised taxes on the rich, which they deserve, but not for decades. They did the same 10 years ago)

A note of caution. Historically speaking, when the German economy gets bad enough, Europe ends up in a war.

Nolte: Far-Left NYT Reports First Immigrant Population Drop in Decades

John Nolte25 Aug 2025

As though it’s a bad thing, the far-left New York Times reported that for the first time in decades the immigration population has dropped in the U.S.

“For the first time in decades, more immigrants are leaving the United States than arriving, a new study finds,” the Times reported, adding that this signifies “an early indication that President Trump’s hard-line immigration agenda is leading people to depart — whether through deportation or by choice.”

“An analysis of new census data released … found that between January and June, the foreign-born population in the United States — both lawful and unlawful residents — declined by nearly 1.5 million,” the report continued. “In June, the country was home to 51.9 million immigrants, down from 53.3 million six months earlier.”

Naturally, the Times summed it all up using unnamed, cherry-picked “experts”:

But experts predict looming negative economic and demographic consequences for the United States if the trend persists. Immigrants are a critical work force in many sectors, and the country’s reliance on them is growing as more baby boomers retire.

The Times even went as far as to advocate for illegal alien labor…

“Restaurants, farms and assisted-living facilities are already grappling with labor shortages that could become more pronounced,” one so-called expert told the Times. “Many of those roles are filled by undocumented immigrants, whose population reached 14 million in 2023[.]”

If the Times is telling you the overall illegal population is 14 million, you can bet it’s at least twice that.

The Times said the study does not distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants who are leaving the country, but why would a legal immigrant leave the country? It makes no sense.

There are some numbers on that…

According to a Bureau of Labor Statistics studyreleased this month, the overall foreign-born population drop is higher than what the Timesreported: 2.2 million, which is made up of 1.6 million illegal aliens.

To me, the most interesting factor is this: According to a separate Times’ report from last week, since Trump took office, ICE has deported 180,000 illegals (the administration says it’s closer to 330,000).

Either way.

Let’s say that 1.6 million illegals are no longer in the country and that ICE only deported 180,000 to 330,000 of those 1.6 million. This tells us that Trump’s push to incentivize self-deportation is working.

And when I say “incentivize,” I don’t only mean the positive incentives offered by the administration that include airfare back to your home country and $1,000 after you arrive. The negative incentives are, in my opinion, even more effective. Just the fact that we have a president who is actually enforcing the law is a major incentive because the era of illegals feeling comfortable living here has finally come to an end.

Additionally,Trump is aggressively removing the magnets Democrats put in place to attract illegal aliens: Welfare, food stamps, free housing, and free health insurance. Do you get free housing and health insurance? I sure don’t.

Removing 14 million to 30 million illegals will be next to impossible, even for Trump.Incentivizing illegals to self-deport is the real key. And I would argue that the way the administration is handling the “Maryland Man” case is part of that strategy.

Democrats and their regime media allies have turned Kilmar Abrego Garcia into a sacred cow, even though he is a credibly accused gangbanger, human trafficker, and wife-beater. But the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just keeps coming at him. After he was deported to El Salvador, a judge ordered Garcia’s return. Garcia returned but was immediately jailed on criminal charges. Then a judge released him. Then ICE took him into custody for deportation to Uganda.

Where this ends up, no one knows, but the message it sends to America’s illegal immigrants is that even the most sacred of cows among you are not safe from justice, and if the backing of the media and the Democrat party cannot protect this man, no one in this country illegally is safe from deportation.

Everything Trump is doing is working, and he deserves credit for the self-deportations as well, because those have always been part of his plan.

YouTube Secretly Uses AI to ‘Improve’ Videos Without Asking Creators First

Lucas Nolan25 Aug 2025

Google’s YouTube has been secretly using AI to “enhance” users’ videos without their knowledge or consent, leading to a growing sense of unease among content creators.

BBC reports that YouTube, the world’s largest video-sharing platform, has been employing AI to make subtle alterations to creators’ videos without their knowledge or permission. The AI-driven changes, which include sharpening wrinkles in clothing, smoothing skin textures, and even warping ears, have left many content creators feeling unsettled and misrepresented.

The issue first came to prominence when popular music YouTubers Rick Beato and Rhett Shull noticed something amiss in their recent uploads. Beato, who runs a channel with over five million subscribers featuring popular interviews with music legends, initially thought he was imagining things when he spotted strange artifacts in his video. “The closer I looked, it almost seemed like I was wearing makeup,” he recalls. Shull, a friend of Beato’s, investigated his own posts and found similar AI-generated distortions, prompting him to create a video on the subject that has garnered over 500,000 views.

After months of speculation and complaints from users on social media,YouTube finally acknowledged that it has been running an experiment on select YouTube Shorts, the app’s short-form video feature. The company stated that it uses “traditional machine learning technology” to unblur, denoise, and improve clarity in videos during processing, comparing the process to the enhancements made by modern smartphones when recording video.

However, experts argue that there is a significant difference between users having control over AI features on their personal devices and a company manipulating content without the consent of the creators. Samuel Woolley, the Dietrich chair of disinformation studies at the University of Pittsburgh, suggests that YouTube’s choice of words feels like a misdirection. “Machine learning is in fact a subfield of artificial intelligence,” he explains, dismissing the company’s attempt to draw a line between “traditional machine-learning” and generative AI.

The incident has raised concerns about the growing role of AI in mediating the information and media we consume, often in imperceptible ways. As Jill Walker Rettberg, a professor at the Center for Digital Narrative at the University of Bergen in Norway, points out, “With algorithms and AI, what does this do to our relationship with reality?”

The use of AI to enhance or alter images and videos is not new, with companies like Samsung and Google implementing similar features in their smartphones. However, the lack of transparency anduser control in YouTube’s case has led to a sense of unease among content creators, who fear that it could erode the trust they have built with their audiences.

Woolley argues that YouTube’s actions risk blurring the lines of what people can trust online. “This case with YouTube reveals the ways in which AI is increasingly a medium that defines our lives and realities,” he says. “What happens if people know that companies are editing content from the top down, without even telling the content creators themselves?”Read more at BBC here.

(Can the government secretly overtake Google so our whole world and reality is not destroyed by the insane arbiters of history.)

https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2025/08/25/youtube-secretly-uses-ai-to-improve-videos-without-asking-creators-first/

YouTube Is Using AI to Alter Content (and not telling us)

13:56

Is YouTube secretly applying an AI filter to Shorts without telling creators? I recently noticed my videos looked strange and smeary on YouTube compared to Instagram, almost like a cheap deep fake. In this video, I investigate what's going on and why I believe it's a massive problem for everyone on this platform.

After talking with Rick Beato and seeing discussions on Reddit about the same "oil painting" effect on videos from creators like Hank Green, it's clear there is some kind of non-consensual AI upscaling being applied to our content. For me, this is a huge issue that threatens to erode the most important thing a creator has: the trust of their audience.

Canada PM Mark Carney Bails to Ukraine After Dropping Trump Tariff Fight

Frances Martel25 Aug 20251/2(Canada is totally fucked, unless they get rid of the NWO they will never be free.)

Leftist Canadian Prime MinisterMark Carney visited Kyiv on Friday to sign agreements supporting the country’s efforts to stop the ongoing Russian invasionof its land, leaving Canada shortly after agreeing to drop tariffs on the United States.

Carney’s tariff policy is notable, and somewhat surprising, after he campaigned for the top office almost entirely on a promise to challenge President Donald Trump, dismantle the longstanding friendly relationship between Canada and America, and convince the United States to drop tariffs Trump imposed to protect American industries. The emphasis on supporting Ukraine represents an abrupt shift away from Carney’s signature campaign policy, the opposition to American interests.

The Liberal leader was first appointed to succeed longtime radical leftist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in March after the latter announced his retirement in the face of shockingly low approval ratings and a surge in popularity for the Conservative Party. Despite having no political experience before becoming prime minister, Carney successfully eliminated a 26 percent conservative polling lead and defeated rival Pierre Poilievre in a general election in April.Almost immediately after winning the prime ministership, Carney dropped his opposition to Trump, visiting the White House and agreeing to policies that brought Canada more in line with Trump’s economic vision for the relationship.

The issue of tariffs, dominant in Canadian headlines on Friday, rapidly evaporated as Carney materialized in Kyiv. The Canadian leader met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in anticipation of Ukrainian Independence Day and signed a variety of agreements to help bolster the Ukrainian military and oppose Russian imperialism.

Zelensky expressed gratitude for the visit and described their private talks as relating to “diplomacy, work within the Coalition of the Willing, sanctions efforts, energy cooperation,Canada’s potential assistance in Ukraine’s reconstruction and rehabilitation programs for our veterans, as well as our defense cooperation.”(Canada is broke and will be broker soon)

Carney reportedly committed millions to help Ukraineproduce a larger army of drones, which Zelensky called the “number one priority in defense and tactical operations, as they help save lives on the battlefield.”

The Canadian prime minister’s office issued a statement that, in addition to repeating Zelensky’s emphasis on weapons procurement, went out of its way to express gratitude to the Trump administration for its efforts.

“The two leaders discussed Russia’s ongoing war of aggression and welcomed U.S. leadership in working toward an end to the killing,” a readout of Carney and Zelensky’s conversation read. “The Prime Minister and the President agreedthat just and lasting peace can only exist with robust and credible security guarantees, and that no decisions about Ukraine can be made without Ukraine.” (==Never going to happen, security guarantees can’t be there. No NATO involvement. Everything is a lie with these creaps)

The two countries also issued a joint statement celebrating that Carney’s presence in Kyiv “reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between Canada and Ukraine, grounded in shared democratic values, respect for sovereignty and international law, and a mutual understanding that borders must not be altered by force.”

“The leaders called for an immediate, complete, and unconditional ceasefire as a first step toward launching a genuine peace process aligned with the principles of the United Nations Charter,” the statement read. “They emphasized the importance of reliable security guarantees for Ukraine as part of any future peace agreement.”

The countries’ statement did not elaborate on what commitments should be included in an unconditional ceasefire, nor did it in any way define “reliable security guarantees.”

The Ukraine visit served to divert attention from Carney’s pro-U.S. tariff policy. On Thursday, Carney called President Trump in anticipation of the announcement that Ottawa would soon drop tariffs. The prime minister’s office described the talk as “productive and wide-ranging” and addressing “current trade challenges, opportunities, and shared priorities in a new economic and security relationship between Canada and the U.S.”

On Friday, Carney confirmed that Canada would drop retaliatory tariffs on the United States imposed during the Trudeau era — rather than imposing more retaliatory tariffsin response to Trump’s escalation of fees on goods not included in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a continental free trade agreement, throughout the year.

“Canada and the United States have reestablished free trade for the vast majority of our goods. Canada will retain our tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos as we work intensively to resolve the issues there,” Carney declared in victory last week.

The prime minister framed his caving to pressure from Washington as nonetheless beneficial to Canadabecause the country allegedly still “has the best trade deal with the United States. And while it’s different from what we had before, it’s still better than that of any other country.”

Carney also emphasized that over 85 percent of trade between the two countries remains tariff-free as part of the USMCA.

While campaigning in April,Carney vowed not just to counter demands from America for a better trade atmosphere, but to fight tariffs Canada had nothing to do with. At the beginning of that month, President Donald Trump announced a slew of tariffs on nearly every country that does business with the United States, subject to individual negotiation. The White House explicitly stated at the time that Canada and Mexico were not part of the package of “Liberation Day” tariffs, but Carney issued a defiant public statement, anyway.

“We are going to fight these tariffs with countermeasures. We are going to protect our workers and we are going to build the strongest economy in the G7,”Carney bizarrely vowed. “In a crisis, it’s important to come together and it’s essential to act with purpose and with force, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Carney campaigned on ending the longstanding friendly relationship with the United States.

“Over the coming weeks, months, and years, we must fundamentally reimagine our economy,” Carney promised Canadians. “We will need to ensure Canada can succeed in a drastically different world. The old relationship we had with the U.S. based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military co-operation is over.”

Carney campaigned against conservative rivalPierre Poilievre by falsely declaring him to be too friendly to Trump — a statement clearly rebutted by Trump’s own commentsabout the Canadian election.

“I think it’s easier to deal, actually, with a Liberal. And maybe they’re going to win, but I don’t really care. It doesn’t matter to me at all,” Trump said in an interview in March.

Of Poilievre, Trump said, “the Conservative that’s running is stupidly no friend of mine. I don’t know him, but he said negative things. So, when he says negative things, I couldn’t care less.”

US won’t play key role in Ukraine’s security guarantees — Trump

Washington should support the effort led by Europe, the has president said

(Hilarious Kek, who didn’t know this was coming? This means no one can do it without the U.S. they were counting on Trump paying for it; and NATO countries can’t go without US. US will not defend a non NATO country, nor cause major division with Russia)

Europe must take the lead in providing “significant security guarantees” to Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said on Monday.Washington’s role will be supportive rather than primary, he stressed.

“Europe is going to give them significant security guarantees — and they should, because they’re right there,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Office. He added that Washington would remain involved “from the standpoint of backup.”

This isn't the first time Trump has clarified Washington’s role in resolving the Ukraine conflict. Speaking in the Oval Office last week with Vladimir Zelensky,Trump was asked if security guarantees for Kiev could involve US troops.

We’ll let you know that maybe later today,we’re meeting with the leaders of seven great countries. There will be a lot of help.Europe is the first line of defensebecause they are there, but we’re going to help, we’ll be involved.

Since the taks with ZelenskyTrump has also clarified++ that as far as Washington is concerned, Ukraine getting Crimea back and joining NATO are both “impossible.” ==

He told Fox & Friends last Tuesday that Kiev had approached the US-led military bloc to seek help in trying to get the peninsula back.

“They went in and said ‘We want to get Crimea back’. This was at the beginning,”Trump revealed.“The other thing they said was ‘We want to be a member of NATO’. Well, both of those things are impossible.”

“It was always a no-no,” both during the time of the Soviet Union, and now with Russia,Trump explained, adding that Russia has always stressed it did not want “the enemy” on its border.

Zelensky said on Saturday that new details of security guarantees for Ukraine would be ready “in the coming days.”

“The teams of Ukraine, the United States, and European partners” are working together on the architecture of these guarantees, he said. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stressed that “robust security guarantees will be essential” and claimed that Washington, despite its limited role, would remain part of the process.

Zelenskyand his Western European backershave called for “Article 5-like guarantees” that would obligate countries to respond collectively if Ukraine were attacked. ==He also proposed defining which states would be responsible for ground support, air defense, and maritime security, alongside commitments to fund Ukraine’s armed forces.=+

Speaking in Kiev on Friday NATO chief Rutte called for strengthening Ukraine’s military capacity and putting in place binding guarantees from Europe and the US. Some nations have even floated sending peacekeepers, while Canada has not ruled out contributing troops.Washington has rejected deploying ground forces but left open the possibility of air support. (Which won’t ever happen obviously.)

After meeting Trump earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed that Ukraine’s security must be ensured but warned against solutions that exclude Moscow. Russian ForeignMinister Sergei Lavrov argued that guarantees “must be subject to consensus” and denounced proposals involving foreign military intervention as “absolutely unacceptable.

(Zelensky thought he was successfully conning Trump, because Trump was so attentive, but the idiots didn’t listen to his words, they never do, so once again Trump dodges the stupid EU and Ukraine trap.)

Kek, Zelensky obviously didn’t see Trump’s announcement, arrogant little shit

25 Aug, 2025 15:58

Zelensky claims Ukraine has united EU and US

Relations between Washington and Brussels have been strained as Trump has called on Europe to play a bigger role in its security

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has claimed that his country can be considered the foundation of Western unity. His comments come amid strained relations between Washington and Brussels over defense spending issues and further military aid to Kiev.

In a Telegram post on Sunday, Zelensky said“Ukraine can in a single day gather and unite the world’s leaders around itself.”He further claimed thatKiev has “restored the unity of Europe and the US and now serves as the foundation of this alliance.”

However, ties between the US and its European NATO partners have only deteriorated since US President Donald Trump took officein January. He has demanded that these nations play a larger role in their own security and pay for any further US military support for Kiev. He’s also imposed 15% tariffs on most imports from the EU.

Amid his efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict,Trump has also restored US diplomatic contacts with Moscow, held multiple phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and met his counterpart in Alaska earlier this month to discuss a peace deal.

Last week, Trump hosted Zelensky in Washington along with several other European leaders, who arrived to support him after his previous visit to the White House, in February, ended in a shouting match. Back then, Zelensky was accused by Trump of being ungrateful and “gambling with World War III” by refusing peace with Russia.

The latest summits have been described by Trump as “productive.”He has suggested that a peace deal, which would likely include land swaps, has become more feasible.

However, Zelensky has rejected such proposals, vowing in his Independence Day address that Ukraine would retake Crimeaand other former Ukrainian regions, despite Trump himself stating it would be “impossible” for the peninsula to return to Kiev’s control.

Moscow has repeatedly described the Ukraine conflict as a Western proxy war against Russia, but has said it remains open to a negotiated settlement.

Russian officials have insisted, however, that any deal must address the root causes of the crisis and include Ukrainian neutrality, demilitarization, and recognition of the territories that voted to join Russia between 2014 and 2022.

(Zelensky the war maker must be embarrassed about his totally stupid announcementUkraine is truly not a sovereign nation, they keep forgetting that.)

Ex-Ukrainian commander ‘biding time’ to challenge Zelensky – Guardian

A recent poll shows that Valery Zaluzhny, currently Kiev’s ambassador to London, is more popular than Vladimir Zelensky

There is an “increasing belief” in Kiev that former commander-in-chief, Valery Zaluzhny, is preparing to go head-to-head with Vladimir Zelensky in a potential presidential race, The Guardian has claimed.

Amid growing tensions, Ukrainian leader Zelensky removed the general from his post in February 2024 and dispatched him to the UK to serve as Kiev’s ambassador.

In an article on Monday,The Guardian claimed that while Zaluzhny has painstakingly concealed any political ambition he may have, “many assume he is just biding his time before entering the fray.”The British newspaper cited the general-turned-envoy’s supposed musings as to how he would present himself to Ukrainian voters and what platform he would run on, should he decide to vie for the presidency.

The outlet further stated that Zaluzhny has been receiving a steady flow of Ukrainian and Western dignitaries at both the embassy in London and in Kiev earlier this year.(Zelensky chose to send him to the UK)

The Guardian also quoted anonymous sources as saying that in March, following the infamous showdown between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump at the White House,Vice President J.D. Vance secretly reached out to Zaluzhny, in an apparent attempt to sound him out as a potential alternative leader. He reportedly turned down Vance’s overtures.

Last week, freelance journalist Katie Livingstone claimed that Zaluzhny was “quietly preparing a run for president – in direct opposition to Zelensky.”She quoted an unnamed sourceas suggesting that his team had “effectively begun” an unofficial PR campaign.

Zaluzhny’s press representative was quick to deny the speculation.

A survey of 1,000 people in Ukraine conducted July 4-5 by ‘Rating’ indicated that the former commander-in-chief was trusted by 73% of respondents. That would put him in first place among political figures in the country, with Zelensky trailing six percentage points behind, the poll suggested.

Another survey by a different pollster in late June showed that 41% of Ukrainians believed the country was drifting toward authoritarianism.

Zelensky’s presidential term expired in May 2024, but he has refused to hold new elections, citing martial law. The Kremlin insists that the Ukrainian leader has lost legitimacy.

Western and Ukrainian officials held ‘secret meeting’ on ousting Zelensky – Russian intel

Top officials in Kiev have backed plans to replace the Ukrainian leader with former military chief Valery Zaluzhny, the SVR has said

US and UK officials have secretly met with key Ukrainian powerbrokers to discuss ousting Vladimir Zelensky and replacing him with former military chief Valery Zaluzhny, according to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).

In a statement on Tuesday, the SVR claimed Western officials had gathered at an undisclosed Alpine resort with top Zelensky aide Andrey Yermak, Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kirill Budanov, and Zaluzhny, who is currently Kiev’s ambassador to the UK.

According to the agency, all sides agreed “it is high time” for Zelensky to be replaced and called the change “a key condition for resetting Kiev’s relations with the West and continuing Western military aid.”

The SVR reported that US and UK officials told their Ukrainian counterparts they want Zaluzhny to become president. The agency claimed that Yermak and Budanov “saluted” the plan and secured promises that they would keep their current posts if Zaluzhny took over.

Zaluzhny, who served as commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces between 2021 and 2024, has enjoyed high approval ratings, with speculation that he would likely beat Zelensky in a potential presidential election.

The SVR also claimed the covert meeting revealed why Zelensky had initially backed a bill that would have stripped two Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies of their independence. The crackdown sparked protests at home and criticism from the West, prompting Zelensky to roll back the reform.

According to the SVR, Yermak “set up”Zelensky by advising him to push the controversial law, knowing this would undermine his image abroadand provide justification for Western partners to seek his removal.

The SVR went on to address ordinary Ukrainians, saying: “A new president of your country has been chosen at an Alpine resort. Is this the triumph of Ukrainian democracy and independence you dreamed of?”

Zelensky’s presidential term expired last May, but he has refused to hold a new election, citing martial law. .

President Trump to Sue to Prevent Grassley From Blocking of Alina Habba’s Confirmation for US Attorney with Unconstitutional ‘Blue Slip’ Custom(VIDEO)

By Cristina Laila Aug. 25, 2025 12:

President Trump on Monday said he will be filing a lawsuit to prevent Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) from blocking Alina Habba’s confirmation for US Attorney of New Jersey with the unconstitutional ‘blue slip’ custom.

Late Sunday evening, President Trump once again called out Grassley for blocking judicial confirmations because of the outdated ‘blue slip’ custom that defers nominations to the home state senators.

“I have a Constitutional Right to appoint Judges and U.S. Attorneys, but that RIGHT has been completely taken away from me in States that have just one Democrat United States Senator. This is because of an old and outdated “custom” known as a BLUE SLIP, that Senator Chuck Grassley, of the Great State of Iowa, refuses to overturn, even though the Democrats, including Crooked Joe Biden (Twice!), have done so on numerous occasions. Therefore, the only candidates that I can get confirmed for these most important positions are, believe it or not, Democrats! Chuck Grassley should allow strong Republican candidates to ascend to these very vital and powerful roles, and tell the Democrats, as they often tell us, to go to HELL!” Trump said on Truth Social on Sunday.

As previously reported, last Thursday, US District Judge Mathew Brann, an Obama appointee, said Alina Habba is “not lawfully holding the Office of US Attorney” of New Jersey.

The Pennsylvania-based federal judge oversaw a challenge to Alina Habba’s authority because the judges in New Jersey had a conflict of interest after they ousted her from her position as interim US Attorney last month.

A group of federal judges last month declined to extend Alina Habba’s term as interim US Attorney of New Jersey after Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries launched a pressure campaign to oust her.

Alina Habba’s term as interim US Attorney was set to expire after 120 days. Habba resigned as Interim US Attorney and became Acting US Attorney for New Jersey after the Trump DOJ outmaneuvered the judges.

Last week, Alina Habba said Senate JudiciaryChairman Chuck Grassley is trying to block her confirmation in the Senate by holding up the ‘blue slip’ tradition.

LFG @AlinaHabba!

Grassley is working with Democrat Senators from New Jersey in a "gentlemen's agreement," giving them VETO POWER over Habba's confirmation.

It's called a "blue slip," and it's not based on ANY law at all.

"The only person I could get approved are Democrats or maybe weak Republicans. We don't want that."

"This is based on an old custom. Not based on law. I think it is unconstitutional."

I’m pretty sure none of these EU leaders, nor Zelensky bothered to read his book or listen to his videos on “The Art of the Deal”.

They don’t understand he reveals all of Trump’s tactics, because they are Europe and consider themselves superior, but if they had they would have understand that Trump was negotiating while they thought they were manipulating him and got control of him.

After 9 years why don’t they actually study him, so they know what they were walking into. Hint: First Time ever inviting numerous EU leaders to the WH, and then, wow them with praise and niceties, and he hardly disagrees and never gets upset!

Trump rethinks sending feds to ‘killing field’ Chicago after mayor resists: ‘Want to be asked to go’

By Published Aug. 25, 2025, 3:02

WASHINGTON —President Trump indicated Monday he was leaning against deploying federal forces to fight crime in Chicago, saying he doesn’t want to “barge in on a city and then be treated horribly by corrupt politicians.”

Trump had said Friday that he planned to replicate his DC crime crackdown in the Windy City, followed by New York City — only to be met with local pushback.

Democratic Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said he was “evaluating all of our legal options to protect the people of Chicago from unconstitutional federal overreach.”

“In a certain way, you really want to be asked to go,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Monday morning.

“You know, I hate to barge in on a city and then be treated horribly by corrupt politicians and bad politicians, like a guy like [Illinois Gov. JB] Pritzker, he has to spend more time in the gym.”

“They have a political thing about it,” Trump added while signing anti-crime executive orders.

“It’s like the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. But I don’t like going to a town, city, place, a state, and then be criticized by some corrupt or incompetent governor where crime is rampant.”

Trump noted that on Friday he had “made the statement that next should be Chicago, because, as you all know, Chicago is a killing field right now, and they don’t acknowledge it, and they say, ‘We don’t need him. Freedom! Freedom! He’s a dictator. He’s a dictator.’

“A lot of people are saying, ‘Maybe we’d like a dictator.’ I don’t like a dictator. I’m not a dictator,” the president went on.

“I’m a man with great common sense and a smart person, and when I see what’s happening to our cities, and then you send in troops, instead of being praised, they’re saying, ‘You’re trying to take over the Republic!’ These people are sick.”

Trump’s abrupt reversal followed his claim that African-American women were wearing red “Make America Great Again” hats and pleading for federal intervention in Chicago.

He did not mention any updated plans for New York City.

Trump has mobilized hundreds of National Guard members and federal agents to help fight violent crime in Washington. He ordered similarsurges of federal resources to various cities in 2020, during his first term.

On Aug. 11, Trump ordered the Metropolitan Police Department in DC to be brought under federal control for 30 days.

“I really want to be appreciated when we go into a city and wipe out the crime,” he added while hosting South Korean President Lee Jae Myung Monday afternoon, arguing his DC crackdown had worked.

“It sounds so horrible. I’m embarrassed to say it in front of you, because they don’t have anything like this. Washington DC, sir, has not had a murder in 11 days.”

(NYP is wrong, he’s asking for an uprising of citizens to demand Trump send troops to Chicago. NYP can’t read the President or room.Has anyone ever heard Trump act like he’s offended? All they had to do is look at Vance almost laughing out loud.)

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick voids ‘illegal’ $7.4B payment to Biden ally-staffed nonprofit for semiconductor research

By Josh Christenson

Updated Aug. 25, 2025, 9:58 a.m. ET

WASHINGTON —Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick canceled an Biden administration agreement Monday to distribute billions of dollars for semiconductor research through a nonprofit set up and staffed by former political appointees, according to a letter obtained by The Post.

The 2022 CHIPS and Science Act provided for $11 billion in semiconductor research and development funding to be given out by the Commerce Department’s National Semiconductor Technology Center.

“Rather than establishing these operations within the Department, however, Biden Administration officials spent significant time, effort, and resources creating an unaccountable, outside entity–Natcast–to administer taxpayer funds,” Lutnick wrote Natcast CEO Deirdre Hanford.

Four days before Biden left office on Jan. 20, Lutnick noted, the Commerce Department agreed to set aside $7.4 billion in “advance payments” to Natcastafter spending nearly two years setting it up and tapping administration officials, advisers and allies to fill out positions.

That arrangement both effectively removed the incoming Trump administration from being involved in the process and provided “virtually all” of Natcast’s funding— prompting incoming Departments of Justice and Commerce officials to take another look at the Sunnyvale, Calif., nonprofit.

The funding had been slated to be in effect until 2034.

“These actions do not just give the appearance of impropriety; they flout federal law,” Lutnick told Hanford, pointing out that no provisions in the CHIPS Act authorized an outside entity like Natcast to distribute semiconductor research funds.

“The GCCA [Government Corporation Control Act] plainly prohibits agencies from establishing a corporation to act as an agency without specific authorization, and the January 16, 2025, agreement does nothing other than set forth the terms of the Biden Administration’s attempt to do just that.”

Natcast’s selection committeeincluded Biden White House alums likeJason Matheny, former deputy director for national security in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; and Kendra Wilkerson, the CEO of a nonprofit that “promotes greater equality for women and nonbinary professionals in technology fields==,” according to the Biden Commerce Department.

Donna Dubinsky, another Natcast executive, worked as senior counselor to former Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and signed off on the nonprofit’s 501(c)(3) status.

Susan Feindt, the Biden Commerce Department’s vice chair of its CHIPS Act advisory committee, is now the senior vice president of ecosystem development at Natcast.

Jeremy Licht, the former chief counsel on semiconductor incentives at the Biden Commerce Department, is now the general counsel at Natcast.

Hanford, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, also served on the Biden Commerce Department’s Industrial Advisory Committee.

Lutnick’s revocation of the funding comes after Environmental Protection Agency AdministratorLee Zeldin revealed appointees of the 46th president were “rushing to get billions of dollars out the door before Inauguration Day” to lefty nongovernmental organizations.

Trump’s EPA chief recently told The Post’s Miranda Devine on her “Pod Force One” podcast that he uncovered $20 billion “parked at an outside financial institution,” later revealed to be Citibank, that was meant to be sent “through eight pass-through entities … riddled with self-dealing and conflicts of interest.”

“When the money goes through the prime recipients to others — in many cases, also pass-throughs — EPA no longer is a party of the account control agreement,” Zeldin said. “EPA is losing oversight by design intentionally.”

Lutnick’s Commerce Department hopes to regain a similar level of oversight now.

“Ending this illegal relationship will ensure efficient use of taxpayer funds and continued American leadership in the semiconductor industry, and it will return responsibility–and accountability–for faithfully executing the CHIPS Act to the Department, as Congress intended,” the secretary’s letter concluded.

“The Department reserves the right to pursue all legal remedies against Natcast.”

(Hope they are researching the Bidan family scam, they probably got double the amount.)

WHAT HAPPENED:Journalist Katie Couric drew backlash after attacking the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where President Donald J. Trump has assumed control as chairman and restructured leadership and programming in collaboration with Richard “Ric” Grenell, as a “disgrace” on social media. Bizarrely, the 68-year-old focused her ire on an Instagram post shared by the Kennedy Center featuring several smiling young staffers.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED:Katie Couric, President Trump, Kennedy Center President and Executive Director Ric Grenell, and The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam.

📍WHEN & WHERE:August 2025, Washington, D.C., at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

💬KEY QUOTE:“We didn’t cancel a single show. Your team couldn’t perform for Republicans. They cancelled. It is this exact intolerance that we fight against. Everyone is welcome to the Kennedy Center… Even you!” – Ric Grenell

🎯IMPACT:Trump’s restructuring has sparked controversy, with legislation proposed to rename parts of the Kennedy Center in his honor.

Journalist Katie Couric has attacked the Kennedy Center, where President Donald J. Trump has assumed control as chairman, as a “disgrace” on social media. Couric, 68,focused her bizarre outburst on an Instagram post featuring smiling young staffers at the Kennedy Center’s “Opera in the Outfield” event, saying, “This is so sad. I grew up going to the Kennedy Center… What they’ve done to it is a disgrace.

“Richard “Ric” Grenell, acting president and executive director of the Kennedy Center, responded directly:“We didn’t cancel a single show. Your team couldn’t perform for Republicans. They cancelled. It is this exact intolerance that we fight against.” He added, “Everyone is welcome to the Kennedy Center… even you!”

The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam, who attended the “Opera in the Outfield” event, also responded to Couric, saying,“It’s a disgrace that you’re trying to hurt this institution now, simply because you have different political ideas from the people running it.It reveals your wafer-thin concern for the arts, and your petulance and disdain for the will of the people.”

Notably, the Kennedy Center had been struggling under the Biden government, which Trump attributed to infiltration by “woke” ideologues pushing ideological programming. Under the leadership of the America First leader and Grenell, it has put on many highly successful events, with Trump promising major renovations to bring it “back to the absolute TOP LEVEL of luxury, glamour, and entertainment.”

Congressional allies of Trump have introduced legislation to rename parts of the Kennedy Center. One proposal seeks to name the Opera House after First Lady Melania Trump, while another, the “Make Entertainment Great Again Act,” aims to rename the entire venue as the “Donald J. Trump Center for Performing Arts.”

Snoop Dogg Slams LGBTQ Propaganda in Children’s Movies.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED:Snoop Dogg expressed unease about taking his grandson to the movies after seeing homosexuality in Disney’s 2022 animated film Lightyear.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED:Snoop Dogg, his grandson, and Disney.

📍WHEN & WHERE:Snoop’s comments were made during the It’s Giving podcast in August 2025.💬KEY QUOTE:“What you see is what you see, and they’re putting it everywhere.” – Snoop Dogg

🎯IMPACT:Snoop’s remarks have drawn criticism from liberals, with some lobbying for him to be dropped from upcoming performances.

Snoop Dogg has shared his discomfort about taking his grandson to the movies after being “blindsided” by homosexuality in Disney‘s animated film Lightyear. Speaking on the It’s Giving podcast, the rapper recalled how the 2022 Pixar spinoff left him struggling to answer his grandson’s questions about the female character Alisha Hawthorne, who is depicted as having a wife and a child who is their biological offspring.

“What you see is what you see, and they’re putting it everywhere,” Snoop stated. He described his grandson’s confusion during the movie, asking, “Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!”The rapper admitted he was caught off guard, saying, “I didn’t come in for this s**t. I just came to watch the goddamn movie.”

Snoop expressed concerns about introducing LGBTQ+ relationships to young audiences, saying, “These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

The film, which features Alisha Hawthorne marrying her partner and raising a child, includes Disney’s first same-sex kiss, a scene that was initially cut but later reinstated after production employee backlash.

The rapper’s remarks have sparked criticism from liberals online, with one writing, “Being afraid of gay parents in movies is crazy.”Liberal lobbying for Snoop to be removed from his scheduled performance at the Australian Football League’s Grand Final has also emerged.

Despite his near-universal celebrity status, Snoop Dogg has a history of skepticism and opposition to the radical LGBTQ+ agenda, especially concerning transgenderism. The grandfather of eight has previously faced backlash for referring to Bruce Jenner—who now calls himself Caitlyn—as a “science project.”

Notably, in recent months, a number of countries have begun reconsidering invasive hormone replacement and gender reassignment surgery and procedure access for minors. President Donald J. Trump has moved aggressively against such practices in the United States.
