Elon Musk has filed a lawsuit against Apple and OpenAI, accusing them of creating a monopoly in the AI market through the integration of ChatGPT into the iPhone and blocking competitors.
According to Bloomberg, companies X and xAI are demanding billions of dollars in compensation, claiming that the deal deprives users of choice and hinders innovation. Musk says Apple makes it impossible to promote other chatbots in the App Store.
The lawsuit states that the exclusive agreement with OpenAI established ChatGPT as the only integrated AI bot on the iPhone. OpenAI denied the accusations, calling them "a continuation of Musk's attacks." Apple has not yet commented.
In addition to compensation, the lawsuit seeks to ban the "illegal deal" between Apple and OpenAI.
