As good as it looks on the surface, the problem is still there. The career criminal homeless person or the incurable mental patients are just moving to another town to continue sowing chaos. These people need to be put in jail or mental facilities in order to really clean up the streets. Anything less is just kicking the can down the road.

I deal with the homeless just about every day. There are very few I have spoken with that aren't on the street by choice. Most are chemical dependent or have severe mental illness compounded by excessive chemical abuse. One guy I knew was a sorry case. His wife passed and he went off the rails. He was a chronic alcoholic and was constantly in and out of jail until he passed away. I felt bad for him, but he still refused help and preferred being on the street. He told me he didn't want to go to a shelter because they wouldn't let him drink there. Another guy I tried to help was found frozen to death in an alleyway. I tried to give him blankets and food, but he refused them. Some people are so mentally ill that they need lifelong care in a facility. There is no denying it.

I am from a large metro city. One million plus. I have had psycho ward patients threaten myself and my family for money while going about our daily business. I have seen people attacked by the homeless, I have seen people literally howling at the moon because they are lunatics that should be locked up in a facility because they can not function in polite society. Take your bleeding heart and fuck off.
