You conflate my concurrence with anon's assessment of the homeless situation with some sort of agreement on a solution. This anon does not want tax money spent incarcerating these people for life. The Taliban Detox program is to scoop them off the streets, lock them in a cell and let them detox cold turkey while someone preaches Koranic verses at them. Anecdotal results indicate that it's so unpleasant that the subject never relapses. If the Koranic verses with replaced with positive teachings of whatever faith the subject chose, it seems that the spiritual effects would be beneficial beyond achieving sobriety.
