EU, UK Diplomatic Missions Hit In Russia's 2nd Largest Assault On Kiev Of War

At least 18 Ukrainians have been killed, with the casualty figure expected to rise, after Russian missiles and drones targeted residential neighborhoods in Kiev early Thursday, which President Volodymyr Zelensky has decried as demonstrating Moscow's contempt for ongoing efforts to forge peace talks. However, the Kremlin has blamed stalled talks on Ukraine's own unrelenting cross-border attacks and failure to compromise.

Photos shared by Zelensky on social media showed emergency crews and residents clearing shattered glass and debris from the streets of central Kiev. One missile directly hit an apartment building, essentially splitting it in half. The assault is widely being described as the second-largest attack on the capital since the war began.

Emergency officials have said at least four children died, with the youngest two years old. An outraged Zelensky stated that "Russia opts for missiles over diplomacy. It continues its campaign of killing rather than choosing peace."

He's of late been urging maximal US and European sanctions to be ramped up on Russia, and for strong Western backing of his military to continue.

The capital was throughout much of the conflict largely spared from the main fighting and death and destruction, but this has been changing over the last weeks and months - in apparent retaliation for Ukraine's increasingly brazen cross-border drone attacks on Russian energy sites and factories.

The biggest single attack on Kiev was a July missile and drone attack that killed over 30 people, including five children. This new assault saw nearly 600 projectiles launched across Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian military.

Mayor Vitaly Klitschko commented on the fresh overnight attack by saying this was chiefly ballistic and cruise missiles which did the most damage. There were also Iranian-designed Shahed suicide drones, and that they pummeled residential areas.

Meta to spend millions backing pro-AI candidates – media

The tech giant has reportedly moved to expand political influence ahead of 2026 elections

US tech giant Meta will launch a California‑focused super‑PAC to support state‑level candidates who favor looser technology regulation, especially regarding artificial intelligence, according to media reports.

A super PAC is an independent political committee that can raise and spend unlimited funds from individuals, corporations, and unions to support or oppose candidates. It cannot coordinate directly with campaigns or parties and was created after 2010 US court rulings that loosened campaign finance rules.

The group, named Mobilizing Economic Transformation Across California, will reportedly back candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties who prioritize AI innovation over stringent rules.

According to Politico, the Facebook and Instagram parent plans to spend tens of millions of dollars through the PAC, which could make it one of the top political spenders in the state in the run‑up to the 2026 governor’s race.

The initiative aligns with Meta’s broader effort to safeguard California’s status as a technology hub amid concerns that strict oversight could stifle innovation.

“Sacramento’s regulatory environment could stifle innovation, block AI progress, and put California’s technology leadership at risk,” Brian Rice, Meta’s vice president of public policy, was quoted as saying. Rice will head the PAC along with Greg Maurer, another public policy executive, as principal officers, according to a company spokesperson.

California has been one of the most active states in advancing AI and social media regulation, with officials set to decide on safety, transparency and consumer protection rules that could affect technology companies’ products.

The move echoes efforts by other tech giants. Companies such as Uber and Airbnb have used mega‑donor political strategies to influence policy in California.

Meta also spent over $518,000 in state lobbying this spring to challenge AI safety legislation, which would impose safety and transparency standards on large AI models.

Meta’s new super‑PAC joins a growing wave of tech‑industry political engagement. Rival network Leading the Future is one example, backed by Andreessen Horowitz and OpenAI President Greg Brockman, which aims to promote pro‑AI policies with over $100 million in funding.

After this Jewish man mocked prayers for the dead he's now going after your guns!

Minneapolis Mayor Who Attacked Prayer Now Moves To The Next Amendment Of The Bill Of Rights

Democratic Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey attacked gun ownership and the Second Amendment during an MSNBC appearance on Wednesday in which he doubled down on dismissing prayer.

Frey’s initial comments criticizing those who prayed came during a Wednesday morning press conference after an active shooter opened fire during an all-school mass held by the Annunciation Catholic School on Wednesday morning, killing two children and wounding at least 17 other people. Frey praised “other countries” that passed sweeping gun control after shootings while appearing on “The Briefing with Jen Psaki.”

“We have more guns in America than people. Say that again. We have more guns in America than people. Why? Why is it so easy to get a gun? Why is it so easy to get a whole heap ton of guns? Why is it that you can buy a gun virtually every month if you wanted to? What good is that?” Frey ranted to host Jen Psaki. “We’re not talking about your father’s hunting rifle. We’re talking about people that have gotten guns that seemingly — in this case, legally — that obviously have a whole ton of mental health issues.”

“You’re not right in the head if you’re going to a church to shoot it up. You’re not right in the head. But the fact that you have guns, in fact, many, many guns, why is that okay?” Frey continued. “You know, this has gone down in other countries and they say, ‘You know what, we’re not going to allow this anymore. We don’t want this to happen anymore. We’re going to do something about it.’”

Australia carried out a mandatory “buy back” of semi-automatic rifles and shotguns after a 1996 mass shooting in Port Arthur. Canada passed legislation banning over 1,500 types of firearms in the wake of an April 2020 mass shooting in Nova Scotia that killed 23 people.

Other Democrats, including Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut and Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota also called for gun laws, including a ban on so-called “assault weapons,” in the wake of the shooting. Frey’s comments drew praise from Klobuchar and CNN host Dana Bash during a Wednesday afternoon segment on the network, during which Klobuchar called for the ban on so-called “assault weapons.”

“Assault weapons” is a euphemism that gun-control advocates use to gain support for banning certain semi-automatic firearms with features that provide a cosmetic similarity to firearms capable of fully-automatic operation.

“What has incorrectly been termed an ‘assault weapon’ is a semi-automatic firearm that fires just one bullet with each pull of the trigger (versus a fully automatic firearm — machine gun — which continues to shoot until the trigger is released),” the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) said in a fact sheet. The NSSF estimated that over 24 million “modern sporting rifles,” which include the AR-15, are “in circulation” in a July 2022 release.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Wednesday that President Donald Trump is actively working on ideas to “transform” Gaza “the day after” Hamas is removed.

Breitbart News: You know, some of these issues are as old as the Bible itself. When you read the story of the kidnapping and rape of Dinah, for example, in the book of Genesis, you have Jacob’s sons who attack the local population who carry out these atrocities, and Jacob wonders whether that attack has now made him odious to his neighbors. And it’s a very similar situation. Israel has to defend itself, but it then is criticized for doing so, and that’s the situation you have in Gaza — very, very difficult. You have to defend yourself. You have to win the war. But to many people observing the war from the outside, the results are very difficult to understand and to absorb.

And I want to ask you about the long-term future of Gaza. President Trump said he wanted to take it for the United States. Then he suggested Israel would do the fighting, [and] then the Americans would move in. What does that really mean? And in a more lighthearted way, I suppose I could ask, are we going to see a Trump intercontinental resort on beaches of Gaza anytime soon, with a golf course and perhaps a Dubai-like shopping center? I mean, is Gaza going to change fundamentally? Because strategically, it seems to be a constant problem.

Netanyahu: Well, it will not change if Hamas remains there, and we have to get rid of Hamas. And you know what we have now? — and I don’t think your audience knows this — we have Gazans fighting Hamas alongside us, because once they see that we’re approaching the end of our military campaign, and we have one or two strongholds of Hamas left, primarily in the city of Gaza along the coast. Once they see that, they they join us and they fight Hamas. They actually fight Hamas. So when that happens, obviously the opportunities abound. And I think, yes, you can have a transitional government.

America will play whatever roles it wants, because it’s a welcome partner in anything. But I think President Trump is discussing this very moment, ideas of how to transform Gaza the day after the day after, what the day after Hamas, because Gaza can only have a different future for its for Palestinians and for Israel alike, and for the entire Middle East, only if Hamas is defeated.

And as far as the criticism that we receive, especially from some European governments, you know, they say we’re all for Israel’s right to exercise, you know, to for right for self defense, except we don’t allow you to exercise that right. You know, Israel should have the right to to defend itself, but don’t exercise that right. Well, I like to see what they would do if they had thousands and thousands of their citizens kidnapped and murdered and raped and beheaded from, you know, something right next to their capital. What would they do? I don’t think they’d go to the lengths that we went to, and that we are going to, to prevent starvation, to feed the enemy population, to take them out of harm’s way.

We know what the Allies did in World War Two. You know, they landed in Normandy, and they had to go through French cities that were occupied by the Wehrmacht, the German army. You know what they did? They just plowed through. They — and I’m not, you know, I respect and admire Churchill enormously. I don’t think he was a war criminal. I don’t think Eisenhower was a war criminal. Of course not! But they had to win the war, and as they continued, and went into German cities, they did the same.

Now, we don’t go to such lengths. It’s a different era. It’s a different time, and we unfortunately lose many of our brave soldiers in the process, because we don’t “Dresden” the place, okay? We just don’t. We could, but we don’t. And so Israel, that is taking these unbelievable measures, as I said, is being accused, while Hamas, that is taking these unbelievable measures to to starve its population and kill its civilians, they’re getting off scot-free.

So I don’t think — I think the European cynicism and the weakness will dissipate. Appeasement usually does, if the the other forces win, and we are the “other forces,” and we intend to win.

Netanyahu also said that few European leaders had shown the “strength” Trump had, in the face of terror.
