Attorney General Pam Bondi has filed paperwork to dismiss a $100 million lawsuit filed by the Proud Boys over the political persecution they suffered in the wake of the January 6th protests.

The move signifies a stark policy shift for Trump, who earlier this year pardoned or commuted the sentences of virtually all of those defendants who targeted by the Biden administration in the years since January 6th.

Eight months into Trump’s second term, several of the political prisoners targeted by Biden still have not been pardoned or had sentences commuted, and a handful are still in prison.

Bondi’s move to dismiss the Proud Boys’ suit is seen as outright betrayal by patriots and supporters of President Trump.

Bondi’s decision to pursue the Biden administration’s posture toward the Proud Boys with regard to the alleged involvement in a fabricated insurrection comes just days after the Biden Department of Justice’s key witness against the Proud Boys recanted his testimony that resulted in convictions and decades of jail time.

Top Proud Boy Enrique Tarrio (@NobleOne on X) and the so-called “Seditious Five” in June filed a federal lawsuit against the federal government for the Biden administration’s political persecution against them in the wake of the FedSurrection on January 6th, 2021.

They say the federal government should pay $100 million in restitution for the criminal prosecutions, and are asking for a jury trial to settle the matter.

Israeli strikes in Yemen reportedly targeted gathering of Houthi leadership

Hebrew media outlets report that Israel carried out its most dramatic strike yet in Yemen earlier today, aiming to wipe out the Houthi leadership.

According to the reports, citing unnamed security officials, Israeli intelligence learned at around 1 p.m. that 10 Houthi ministers, including the minister of defense, and senior officials had gathered outside Sanaa to hear a speech by the group’s leader, Abdul Malik al-Houthi.

The IDF then launched a strike targeting the meeting. It remains unclear if the Houthis’ chief of staff, Muhammad Al-Ghamari, was present, the reports say.

Israeli intelligence provided real-time details of the gathering, enabling the strike, which was carried out despite heavy air defenses in the area. As al-Houthi delivered his address, Israel reportedly monitored it to see whether he realized his senior officials were being targeted, and he gave no indication of being aware, the reports say.

The outcome of the strike is not immediately clear.

While officials have cast the strike in dramatic terms, previous Israeli operations in Yemen framed similarly have failed to halt the Houthis’ continued drone and missile attacks during the ongoing war.

The IDF carried out the targeted strike after two IAF interceptions of Houthi drones earlier in the day, marking the second Israeli attack on Yemen this week.

Ben Gvir plans new policy barring protests on major roads or at synagogues

Police minister seeks AG’s approval but vows to implement policy regardless if she does not respond within 5 days; opposition MKs decry attempt to ‘trample’ free expression

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is seeking to implement a new policy dictating how police are to handle protests, which would forbid demonstrators from blocking major roads or rallying at synagogues.

The plan is highly likely to face significant legal challenges.

The new policy, published in full Thursday, would prohibit protests blocking highways and major routes, as well as roads leading to hospitals, isolated towns, emergency routes and Ben Gurion Airport.

It would also require protesters to obtain approval from the police, who Ben Gvir oversees, in order to block roads within cities. Protests at synagogues would likewise be prohibited based on the claim that they impede freedom of religion. (Protesters have sometimes demonstrated against religious political leaders at the synagogues they frequent.)

“Freedom of religion and the [freedom of] conscience for worshipers in the synagogue overrides the freedom to protest within or at the site of a synagogue or any other house of worship,” the document reads.

Ben Gvir said he he had sought the approval of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara for the move several months ago, but claimed he received no response. He issued an ultimatum to the legal official Thursday, vowing to implement the restrictions regardless of her approval should she fail to respond within five days.

Several senior police officers voiced their displeasure with the restrictions, telling the Ynet news outlet that decisions regarding such matters should be made by officers on the ground, rather than an elected official.

After trip to Damascus, 3 US lawmakers criticize Israel for ‘destabilizing’ strikes on Syria

A bipartisan trio of US lawmakers who recently got back from meetings with Syrian officials in Damascus issue a rare condemnation of Israel, taking issue with last night’s IDF strikes in Syria.

Democratic ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee Jeanne Shaheen, along with Republicans Sen. Joni Ernst and Rep. Joe Wilson, say the message they got from Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and other top officials in Damascus was that “Syria needs a chance to succeed and move past the violence and strife that consumed the country for over 14 years.”

“Last night’s destabilizing strikes on Syria by Israel make that goal more difficult to achieve,” the lawmakers say.

“We commend President Trump for taking the bold step of lifting sanctions off Syria earlier this year. Through the work of the President’s Special Envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, a once-unthinkable and historic meeting occurred directly between the Syrian and Israel governments just this month,” they continue.

“The Syrians are prepared to move forward with Israel to advance peace. It is unclear how long the door to this opportunity will remain open. We call on Israel to seize the moment and immediately cease hostilities so the progress made by Syrians and Special Envoy Barrack can continue,” the US lawmakers add.

“A stable and secure Syria is the only path toward freedom from Iran’s reach and containment of the ISIS threat.”

Only Liars And Manipulators Say Gaza Isn’t Starving

Most Israel apologia at this point is just people pretending to believe things they don’t really believe.

Israeli news outlet Haaretz has published a harrowing report on starvation in Gaza which further discredits the Israeli narrative that the photos of skeletal children we’ve been seeing are antisemitic Hamas propaganda, for anyone who’s still clinging to delusions about such things.

Haaretz reporters were taken by doctors on video tours of hospitals in Gaza, conducting interviews with numerous medical personnel and obtaining many photos of civilians showing signs of extreme starvation. Throughout the report we encounter story after story of severely emaciated children, mothers unable to breastfeed starving babies because of their own starvation, people with preexisting conditions severely exacerbated by malnutrition, diseases spreading due to crippled healthcare infrastructure and ruined immune systems, and wounds failing to heal due to inadequate food intake.

The article is one of the more uncomfortable things I’ve seen throughout the entirety of this genocide, and that’s saying something.

“What we saw there left no room for doubt about the scale of the horror,” write Haaretz reporters Yarden Michaeli and Nir Hasson.

“Seventeen youngsters had deteriorated into a state of severe malnutrition without preexisting health conditions; 10 suffered from previous illnesses,” they write, saying “Anyone who claims that the images of starvation in the Gaza Strip are a result of acute genetic or other diseases, and not due to a grave shortage of food, are lying to themselves.”

This comes as the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) formally declares that the people of Gaza are suffering from a famine that “is entirely man-made”, which must be halted and reversed with extreme urgency.

Israel has of course denounced the IPC’s findings as antisemitic Hamas propaganda, with the Israeli Foreign Ministry saying that “The entire IPC document is based on Hamas lies laundered through organizations with vested interests,” and Benjamin Netanyahu branding the report “a modern blood libel, spreading like wildfire through prejudice.”

You might find this response ridiculous, and of course it is, but really, what else does Israel have left? When all major human rights institutions are accusing you of horrific crimes, your only options are either (A) admit the obvious fact that there’s no way every single mainstream humanitarian organization is lying about your actions, or (B) claim that they’re all in on a giant globe-spanning conspiracy because of a nefarious prejudice against your religion.

Of course they’re going to go with (B). This is Israel we’re talking about, after all.

Trump's idea to accept more Chinese students appears to contradict earlier admin policy

Earlier, administration officials had planned to revoke Chinese student visas over security concerns following repeated warnings from lawmakers, intelligence agencies about how China exploits the university programs.

In an apparent departure from early administration policy goals, President Donald Trump floated the idea of significantly expanding the number of Chinese students permitted to study in the United States, raising confusion from within his own party.

Just months ago, administration officials planned to revoke Chinese student visas over security concerns following repeated warnings from intelligence agencies about how China exploits its citizens in the U.S. to steal valuable trade secrets and research.

Years of scientific, industrial espionage

In recent years, policymakers have also raised concerns about Chinese nationals studying or working in the United States over the national security risks—including the economic espionage or intellectual property theft that have become hallmarks of Chinese national strategy.

Since President Trump’s first term, Chinese students have been accused of or charged with spying on sensitive U.S. military installations, illegally registering to vote in a U.S. election, and reporting back to the Chinese Communist Party about U.S. technological research.

One Chinese national, who came to the San Francisco area on a student visa in 2011, conducted a multi-year campaign to develop ties with local and federal government officials, including Rep. Eric Swalwell, D., Calif., on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party.

Lawmakers and intelligence officials in recent years have identified the Chinese Communist Party as the primary threat to America, warning of growing economic espionage, trade secret theft, research appropriation, and transnational repression.

In a report released earlier this year, the House Committee on Homeland Security cataloged more than 60 cases of espionage and acts of transnational repression connected to the Chinese Communist Party across 20 states under the Biden administration alone. These examples were only part of the 224 cases between 2000 and 2023, according to the committee.

Many of the examples cited by the committee include the transfer of sensitive military information and the stealing of U.S. trade secrets that could benefit the Chinese government or companies. However, Chinese students have also been implicated in the Chinese efforts, Just the News has previously reported.

“China continues to utilize ‘non-traditional’ collectors to conduct a plurality of their nefarious efforts here in the U.S. due to their successful ability to hide in plain sight,” former Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center Bill Evanina warned Congress in his 2023 testimony.

“The non-traditional collectors, serving as engineers, businesspersons, academics, and students are shrouded in legitimate work and research, and oftentimes become unwitting tools for the CCP and its intelligence apparatus,” he testified.

Graham warns: Defeating Hamas is non-negotiable, but must be done as soon as possible - interview

Graham described Lebanon’s announcement that disarming Hezbollah is a “national goal” as an important first step – but warned that words must be followed by action.

US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a senior Republican voice on foreign affairs, visited Lebanon and Israel this week, pressing a hard line on Hezbollah and voicing strong support for Israel’s war against Hamas.

Graham described Lebanon’s announcement that disarming Hezbollah is a “national goal” as an important first step – but warned that words must be followed by action in a Thursday interview with The Jerusalem Post.

"Hezbollah is not just a Lebanese problem. It’s a world problem. Hezbollah has American blood on its hands, and they need to go," he says, referring to the plan to dismantle Hezbollah that the Lebanese government will present next.

“The Lebanese military is going to present a plan for disarmament. Time will tell if it can be accomplished politically,” Graham said, noting that without such a step, “the country is frozen in time. It can never go forward.”

While expressing hope for a peaceful solution, the senator stressed that the US and Israel must ensure there is “a credible threat” of force. “If the day comes that you have to do it by force, the Lebanese Armed Forces will need partners – and I think it’s in America’s interest to make sure Hezbollah is disarmed,” he stated.

The senator, who met this week with senior Lebanese officials including the prime minister and president, said there was there's no hope of attracting American business investment or having any major support for the country economically or militarily until there's a real plan to disarm Hezbollah that's being implemented.

Graham expresses strong defense of Israel’s campaign - with a caveat

Turning to Israel’s war in Gaza, Graham compared it to America’s fight in World War II. “Nobody suggested to the United States that we went too far in trying to defeat the Japanese and the Germans. Israel is surrounded by terrorist groups that wish to kill all the Jews. The idea that Israel is somehow inappropriately responding tells me that the world doesn’t see this as an existential threat to the Jewish state.”

He condemned European countries that are pushing for recognition of a Palestinian state. “What are the borders? Who’s in charge? Will they have a military? None of those questions are being asked. It’s just political posturing that emboldens Hamas and makes the war go on longer,” he warned.

However, Graham also cautioned Israel to pay attention to shifts in American politics. “Democrats voted overwhelmingly to stop arms transfers to Israel. Even some Republicans are now accusing Israel of genocide. That should be taken seriously into account", he said, adding that defeating Hamas is “non-negotiable” but must be done as soon as possible to allow discussions about the post-war regional order.

“My hope is that by the end of this year, Hamas and Hezbollah will both have been neutered as effective proxies of Iran. Then in 2026, we can start a serious conversation about integrating Israel into the region and providing Palestinians with a better future – but without Hamas,” he said.

"Hopefully, we can pick up normalization with Saudi Arabia. But that can't happen as long as there's major military operations going on", the senator empathized.

AIPAC-Funded Republicans, On Behalf of ADL, Launch Investigation Into Wikipedia for 'Anti-Semitism'

A pair of AIPAC-funded Republicans, working on behalf of the Anti-Defamation League, sent an intimidating letter to the Wikimedia Foundation on Wednesday announcing they're under investigation in relation to "antisemitic and anti-Israel" content on Wikipedia.

House Republicans announced on Wednesday, Aug. 27, that they have launched an investigation into Wikipedia, alleging that the internet encyclopedia has organized efforts to “inject bias” into its entries.

"In a letter obtained by USA TODAY, the Republican-led House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, chaired by Rep. James Comer of Kentucky and the head of the cybersecurity subcommittee, Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina, sent a request for information to Wikipedia’s CEO Maryana Iskander.

Specifically, the request was made for an investigation into “foreign operations and individuals at academic institutions subsidized by U.S. taxpayer dollars to influence U.S. public opinion.”

In the letter, Comer and Mace referenced a report from the Anti-Defamation League, in which they allege that Wikipedia coordinated a campaign to manipulate entries related to the War in Gaza, which they allege advanced “antisemitic and anti-Israel information.”

"As our research showed earlier this year, antisemitism and anti-Israel bias on Wikipedia are a significant problem. We welcome the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform opening an investigation into this issue and thank Rep. James Comer for his leadership effort to address this hate," in a statement released by ADL on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

The ADL says jump and the GOP asks, "How high?"

The ADL has had Wikipedia in their crosshairs ever since their liberal editors approved a page for the Gaza Genocide and another for Jewish supremacy.

A Trump administration official, in a statement to Laura Loomer, admitted that Secretary of Education Linda McMahon held a meeting with ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt but denied that the ADL has a working relationship with the administration.

The Trump administration never issued a formal, public denial that they were working with the ADL and instead only issued that indirect denial which was filled with obvious lies using Loomer as their conduit.

There is every reason to believe the ADL and the Trump administration, as well as the "liberal" American Jewish Committee, are working hand-in-glove with the administration to suppress criticism of Jews and Israel.

Hopefully, Wikipedia will not cave to the Israel Lobby's intimidation.

US-Israeli scheme for Lebanon includes forced displacement, turning Beirut suburb into 'refugee camp’: Report

The plan falls in line with Washington’s broader goal of disarming the Lebanese resistance

There is a new US plan for a “clampdown” on Beirut’s southern suburb, which could potentially see the area come under the control of a foreign or Arab security force, according to a report released by Al-Akhbar newspaper on 27 August.

The southern suburb, a strong base of support for Hezbollah, was heavily bombarded by Israel during its brutal war on Lebanon last year. The suburb has been repeatedly hit by airstrikes since the ceasefire took effect.

According to Al-Akhbar, the plan aims to “treat the southern suburbs just like Palestinian refugee camps.”

The 1969 Cairo Agreement for years allowed Palestinian groups a degree of autonomy over refugee camps in Lebanon. Despite the agreement being declared null in the 1980s, the status of the camps has remained more or less the same.

However, Lebanese troops maintain checkpoints and a heavy presence around the camps. Palestinian camps in Lebanon have recently begun a symbolic disarmament process in line with the state’s efforts to monopolize control of weapons in the country.

The Al-Akhbar report frames the new US plan as part of Washington’s broader goal of disarming Hezbollah, which the Lebanese government vowed to achieve in a cabinet session in early August.

“The US proposal envisions checkpoints at all entrances [of the Beirut suburb], thorough searches of individuals and vehicles, and a tight control on goods, materials, and money flows. This mission would not be handed to the Lebanese army. Instead, the plan calls for a foreign security force, possibly an Arab one, to take on the task,” it said.

Al-Akhbar also said the plan falls in line with US efforts to “empty the southern border region.”

A recent report by Axios said there is a US plan for a “Trump economic zone” near the southern border, aimed at preventing Hezbollah from re-establishing its presence there. The report said this would happen with the help of Gulf financing.

During a press conference in Lebanon’s Presidential Palace on Tuesday, US envoy Tom Barrack confirmed plans for the economic zone.

A female nursery school teacher has been convicted of raping and drowning her partner's four-year-old daughter by sitting on her in the bath.

Amber-Lee Hughes was found guilty of the crimes against Nada-Jane Challita in the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on Thursday.

She was arrested after the four-year-old was discovered dead in a bathtub filled with water in 2023, inside the apartment Hughes shared with her father, Elie Challita.

As the judge described the events that occurred on 23 January 2023, the day Nada-Jane was murdered, her father's face was visibly distressed.

Throughout the trial, which began earlier this year, Hughes insisted she was innocent and pleaded not guilty. It was not until last month that she confessed to drowning the girl after an argument with Challita over infidelity, but she continued to deny the rape.

Hughes and Challita had a turbulent defined by multiple altercations, during which she continually threatened to harm the child, according to the prosecution authority.

Judge Richard Mkhabela described to the court how Hughes premeditated the murder the child.

'The accused made the threat. She has the propensity to make violent threats. The objective evidence shows that after stopping communication with Mr Challita at 16:35, Mr Challita continued sending the accused messages but she did not respond but had read the messages.'

According to the evidence handed over to the court, the nursery school teacher also raped the girl by inserting foreign objects into her genital, Eyewitness News reported.

The judge told the court that it was unnecessary to review the evidence about whether the drowning was accidental because of Hughes' admission.

'The accused’s latest admissions… is an admission that she drowned the deceased by sitting on top of her, and further that the drowning caused the deceased’s death,' he said.

He added that Hughes’ 'belated admission is incongruent with the scientific and medical evidence' presented by forensic pathologist Dr Hestelle van Stadan, who conducted the post-mortem examination.

'The said admissions meet all the elements of murder,' he noted.

Following the drowning, Hughes reportedly described making three attempts to take her own life.

She told the court she had been suffering with borderline personality disorder but admitted she was fully aware of her actions.

She developed a romantic relationship with Challita in 2021, and moved in with him and his young daughter.

”We understand that Israel has expressed deep regret for harm to civilians,” Shea said. “We note the prompt nature of this investigation and response and call on this Council to condemn the continued use of civilian infrastructure by Hamas.”

Her remarks echoed a statement by Israel’s UN ambassador, Danny Danon, who said further details would be released in the coming days. “Our goal is to fight terrorists, not journalists, not anyone who is not involved in terrorism,” he told reporters.
