Trump Unveils Another $825M Arms Sale To Ukraine, While Talking Peace
At a moment peace negotiations look to be going nowhere, and as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has declared it's 'obvious' Putin and Zelensky aren't going to meet, the Trump administration has authorized another $825 million arms deal for Ukraine.
Crucially, this package will include long-range missiles and supporting equipment, ostensibly to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, though the Kremlin is going to interpret this as another act of US escalation, given the long-range capability.
The US State Department announced on Thursday that it had formally notified Congress about the sale, denoting 3,350 extended-range attack munition (ERAM) missiles are part of it. Additionally an equal number of GPS navigation units and other parts are included.
Funding for the purchase will come not only from US foreign military assistance but also from NATO partners Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, according to the announcement - which is according to Trump's desire of getting Europe to shoulder more of the burden.
"This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a partner country that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe," the State Dept. said.
Meanwhile Ukraine's Zelensky has announced that a complete framework of "security guarantees" for Kiev in case of a ceasefire or peace deal is going to be ready as early as next week - but its contents will surely not be to Moscow's liking, and so will be dead on arrival.
The European powers have been pushing for this to be as robust as possible, including Western troops to enforce the terms, and even air power - or a 'European defense shield'.

US says it’s denying visas to Palestinian officials for UN General Assembly next month
In unprecedented step, Rubio says PA and PLO officials to be barred from visiting UN headquarters in NYC over their ‘efforts to secure the unilateral recognition of a conjectural Palestinian state’
The US State Department announced Friday that Secretary of State Marco Rubio was denying and revoking visas from Palestinian officials ahead of next month’s United Nations General Assembly.
The unprecedented step came a month after the State Department first announced that it would pursue the policy, which it now appeared to be implementing.
The US announcement did not name which individuals would be barred and if Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was among them, though the New York Post cited an internal US State Department memo recommending that the visa ban be applied to him.
Explaining the seemingly unprecedented move, the State Department announcement said, “It is in our national security interests to hold the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority accountable for not complying with their commitments, and for undermining the prospects for peace.”
Abbas’s office expressed its “deep regret and astonishment” at the US decision, which it said “stands in clear contradiction to international law and the UN Headquarters Agreement, particularly since the State of Palestine is an observer member of the United Nations.”

Israeli strike on Yemen said to kill Houthi prime minister, other top officials
IDF confirms Iran-backed group’s defense minister, chief of staff were targeted in separate attack Thursday on Sanaa apartment, while they and others gathered to watch leader’s TV speech
The prime minister of the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen was reportedly killed during Israel’s airstrikes on Thursday in the capital city of Sanaa.
Yemen’s Al-Jumhuriya channel and the Aden Al-Ghad newspaper reported that Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi was killed in an Israeli attack on an apartment, with the latter reporting that several of his companions were killed as well.
There was no immediate confirmation by Israel.
It appeared from the reports to have been a separate strike from the one on Thursday that was said to have targeted 10 senior Houthi ministers as they gathered in a location outside of the capital to hear a speech by the group’s leader, Abdul Malik al-Houthi.
The IDF on Friday confirmed that the Houthi defense minister and chief of staff were targeted in that attack. As of Friday afternoon, it was still awaiting confirmation of the results.

Satellites key for next Israeli rounds with Iran, Houthis
As the Jewish state has attained a new level of power, quality, and volume in satellite use, the Defense Ministry said that Israel has also radically altered how it uses them.
Israel has had and has a wide range of capabilities for combating close and distant threats. That said, unquestionably one of the most critical of these abilities, especially against Iran and the Houthis, is its satellite fleet.
The core piece of the Israeli-made satellite fleet for national security and intelligence collection purposes is the Ofek-class satellite system. In keeping with this, there are also older Eros-class satellites with exceptional surveillance capabilities.
The most recent addition to this satellite fleet is the Dror 1 satellite, which provides communication capabilities. All three of the above satellites were manufactured by the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
Israel also collaborates with certain foreign countries to enhance its satellite capabilities. Recently, for instance, Elbit Systems provided camera technologies on a joint Italian-NATO satellite.
On July 1, the Defense Ministry announced that Israeli satellites took photos of tens of millions of sq.km. in Iran, leading up to and during the June war.

Australian Move Against Iran Raises Intel Doubts
Australia’s diplomatic attack on Iran may have further eroded confidence in the country’s spy agency and the Albanese government, Mick Hall reports.
The expulsion of Iran’s ambassador to Australia over accusations his country directed anti-Semitic recent attacks in Sydney and Melbourne may yet backfire on intelligence agencies behind the move.
The expulsion of Ahmad Sadeghi and three other officials followed a briefing from the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) on Aug. 26, which Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese concluded had presented credible evidence of Iran’s involvement.
According to some analysts however, a significant proportion of the public are not convinced and the diplomatic attack on Iran may have further eroded confidence in the spy agency and their government, which uncritically accepted its conclusions.
“These were extraordinary and dangerous acts of aggression orchestrated by a foreign nation on Australian soil,” Albanese told media on Tuesday. “They were attempts to undermine social cohesion and sow discord in our community.”
Albanese did not explain what Iran would have to gain from such activities.

Israel Intelligence Agency Shin Bet Confirms Netanyahu Funded Hamas, ‘Enabled’ October 7 False Flag
Israeli domestic intelligence agency Shin Bet has confirmed Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s long-serving prime minister, secretly funded Hamas for years—and enabled the deadly October 7 false flag to further his expansionist ambitions in the region.
According to the Jerusalem Post: “…policies carried out under Netanyahu that the agency flagged as problematic and as contributions to Hamas’s decision to invade were his facilitation of Qatari funding to Hamas and his opposition to proposed assassination operations of top Hamas leaders at the time.”
Netanyahu’s support for Hamas can be seen as a calculated strategy to justify broader territorial ambitions. By secretly funding and enabling the group, he ensured that Hamas would carry out attacks, creating a pretext of “security threats” that could be used to legitimize full-scale military operations and occupation.
Netanyahu oversaw massive transfers to Gaza—$30 million a month in 2014 alone—while claiming the money was “humanitarian.” At the same time, Hamas continued launching rockets at Israeli civilians.
Warnings from Shin Bet in 2019 and IDF intelligence in 2020 that these funds were directly fuelling terrorism were ignored.
A 2023 New York Times exposé revealed Mossad officials met Qatari leaders weeks before the October 7 attack, negotiating funds that propped up Hamas. Former Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman tweeted:
“For years, Netanyahu nurtured Hamas, and today, we are all paying the price.”
In effect, by propping up the enemy, Netanyahu manufactured the chaos and violence needed to rally domestic and international support for invading Gaza and consolidating control over Palestinian territories.
Even IDF soldiers report suspicious stand-down orders that cleared the way for Hamas’ invasion. Sgt. Shalom Sheetrit told the Knesset:
“There are no patrols at the fence until nine in the morning…sure enough, exactly an hour later, sirens.”

An authentic Hamas battle plan, obtained over a year prior, was ignored—raising the possibility of a deliberate internal enablement.
