Ukraine operation will continue – top Russian general

Kiev’s forces are retreating and being forced to “plug holes” in their front line, Valery Gerasimov has said

Russian forces will push their advantage and continue their offensive against Ukrainian troops, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov has said.

Russia’s Joint Group of Forces is pushing its “non-stop offensive” on almost all sections of the front line, he said at a Russian Defense Ministry briefing on Saturday.

“An analysis of the state of Ukrainian troops shows that in the spring and summer, the enemy concentrated all its efforts on slowing down our offensive, while suffering heavy losses,” he said.

“As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to transfer the most combat-ready units from one crisis direction to another to ‘plug holes’.

Today, the strategic initiative is entirely with the Russian troops,” he added.

The offensive is accompanied by regular “massive” strikes on Ukrainian arms manufacturing facilities, Gerasimov added. “During the spring-summer period, such strikes were carried out against 76 important facilities,” he said.

Targeted massive fire strikes continue exclusively against military facilities and military-industrial complex facilities in Ukraine.

Gerasimov also stressed that the advances on the battlefield would not have been possible without “the timely supply” of “high-precision weapons, missiles, ammunition, weapons and military equipment,” by Russian industry.

(Russia has silently been preparing for this war since 2022, they knew where this was going and how Europe was siding with Nazis. They accelerated the armaments since late 2023, early 2024. The rhetoric was very clear. Thank God it didn’t happen under Bidan.)

Germany ‘already in conflict’ with Russia – Merz

The chancellor has suggested that Moscow could attack the EU, a notion which the Kremlin dismisses as “nonsense”

Germany is “already in a conflict” with Russia, Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said. He claimed that Moscow is “destabilizing” Germany through cyber attacks and disinformation, and suggested that Russia could attack the EU to reclaim former Soviet territories – which the Kremlin has dismissed as “nonsense.”

In an interview with French broadcaster LCI on Friday, Merz saidhe agrees with French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent description of Russian President Vladimir Putin as “an ogre who always wants to eat more.”

“That’s how I see Putin. He destabilizes large parts of our country. He is interfering everywhere, particularly on social media,” Merz said, claiming that German intelligence regularly reports Russian cyber attacks and efforts to sway public opinion, without providing any evidence.

“So we are already in a conflict with Russia,” he said, adding that Moscow’s campaign targets the entire EU with the aim of “destabilizing our democracies.”

Commenting on Merz’s remarks, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said they are “a case for psychiatrists.”

“Germany has been supplying the neo-Nazi Kiev regime with weapons, including heavy military equipment, for three years, and now they are worried about social networks,” she told TASS on Saturday. She added that “millions of people are suffering” because of Western interference in Ukrainian affairs, which triggered the Maidan coup and led to Kiev’s failure to implement the Minsk accords – both precursors to the current hostilities.

Since the Ukraine conflict escalated in 2022, Western officials have claimed that Russia could target EU states next. Earlier this year, Brussels launched a frenzied militarization campaign, while European NATO members agreed to boost defense spending to 5% of GDP, both citing the presumed “Russian threat.” Merz has been one of the loudest advocates of the moves, recently urging Berlin to turn the German army into the “strongest conventional army in Europe.”

Moscow has rejected the claims that it poses a threat, accusing the West of stoking Russophobia to justify military buildups and distract from domestic problems. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently warned that growing Russophobia and militarization in Germany and the wider EU signal a slide into a “Fourth Reich,” and accused Western governments of seeking dominance, expansion, and interference under the guise of democracy.

Man kills mother after ChatGPT influence – media

Formertech executivereportedly spoke with chatbot before killing his 83-year-old mother and taking his own life

A former Yahoo executive who killed his elderly mother and then himself was reportedly influenced by ChatGPT,which fueled his conspiracy theories, the WSJ reported earlier this week.

Stein-Erik Soelberg, 56, and his 83-year-old mother, Suzanne Eberson Adams, were found dead inAdams’ house in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, on August 5.

“Erik, you’re not crazy,” the chatbot reportedly said after Soelberg claimed his mother and her friend tried to poison him by putting psychedelic drugs in his car’s air vents.Adding that “if it was done by your mother and her friend, that elevates the complexity and betrayal.”

The New York Post reported that Soelberg posted videos of his ChatGPT conversations on Instagram and YouTube in the months before the murder.

The outlet also noted that Soelberg went through a tumultuous 2018 divorce marked by alcoholism, public meltdowns, and suicide attempts. His ex-wife obtained a restraining order banning him from drinking before visiting their children.

“We will be together in another life and another place, and we’ll find a way to realign, because you’re gonna be my best friend again forever,” Soelberg reportedly said in one of his final messages to the chatbot, which he named “Bobby”.

“With you to the last breath and beyond,”ChatGPT replied.

An OpenAI spokeswoman told the WSJ that the company was “deeply saddened”by the tragedy and had contacted Greenwich police.OpenAI also pledged new safeguardsto keep distressed users grounded in reality, including updates to reduce overly agreeable responses, or “sycophancy,” and improve how ChatGPT handles sensitive conversations.

Soelberg’s case is not an isolated incident of people turning to AI for emotional support. Earlier this week, a California couple filed a lawsuit against OpenAI over the death of their teenage son, alleging that ChatGPT encouraged the 16-year-old to commit suicide.

Moscow blasts Iranian media over false Israel war claims

A recent report alleged that Moscow gave West Jerusalem intel on Iran’s air defenses, which the Foreign Ministry in Tehran later dismissed

The RussianForeign Ministry hascondemned the “outrageous” claims in Iranian media that Moscow was an unreliable partner in Iran’s conflict with Israelandpassed intelligence on the country’s air defenses to West Jerusalem. In a statement on Friday, it said the reports weredriven by “hostile forces” seeking to strain Russian-Iranian ties.(Iran is paranoid now)

Israel attacked Iran in June, claiming the country was close to building a nuclear weapon – an allegation it has repeated for decades despite Iran’s insistence that its nuclear program is peaceful. The IAEA and US intelligence found no evidence of weaponization, yet Washington joined the strikes, which caused major damage to Iran’s nuclear sites and killed dozens, including scientists and military personnel.

While Russia condemned the attacks as a “gross violation of international law,”some Iranian media outlets claimed that Moscow “failed to provide adequate support during the conflict with Israel.”

“In essence, these claims assert that Russia is allegedly not a ‘reliable partner’ for Iran,” the ministry said. It pointed to the “most egregious and outrageous”report citing Mohammad Sadr, a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, who “baselessly alleged” in an interview on August 24 that Russia gave Israel coordinates of Iran’s air defenses.

“This statement, so flagrant in its absurdity, compelled even the Iranian Foreign Ministry to respond,” Moscow said, citing spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, who told reporters this week thatSadr’s claims “are not based on any evidence”and “do not reflect Iran’s official position.”

Moscow called the reports “concerning,”saying their frequency “suggests a coordinated disinformation campaign” by forces hostile to both Russia and Iran. Sadr’s interview was quickly picked up by BBC Arabic, which framed it as a sign of growing distrust – which Moscow rejected.

The ministry reiterated that it views the bombings of Iran as “unprovoked,” saying Russia continues to support Tehran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy.

Russia and Iran, both under Western sanctions, have a long history of cooperation. Earlier this year, they signed a comprehensive strategic partnership to deepen ties in security, peaceful nuclear energy, and resistance to sanctions. Moscow has long advocated for a diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear issue and played a key role in its civilian program, notably at the Bushehr plant, where Rosatom revived stalled construction in the 1990s.

(Iran was pissed Russia did not take action or side with the Iran leader, that came to visit him when the U.S. and Israel was targeting their nuclear plants. Putin basically said we support you but cannot get involved. Iran is paranoid and getting worse. BTW Russiararelyblasts any country, so this is serious.PS: that picture that RT chose says it all)

Von der Leyen calls Putin a ‘predator’

The European Commission chief has again invoked the “Russian threat” to justify EU militarization

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has escalated her anti-Russia rhetoric, calling President Vladimir Putin a “predator” andreciting NATO’s talking point about a looming Russian threat to justify the EU’s push for accelerated militarization.

The remarks came on Friday in Riga, where the EC chief appeared alongside Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina at the start of what she described as a tour of the “EU’s frontline states.” The route includes Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland – all bordering Russia or Belarus – as well as Bulgaria and Romania.

“Putin is a predator,” von der Leyen claimed, accusing his mysterious “proxies” of targeting European societies“for years with hybrid attacks, with cyberattacks” She went as far as to accuse Moscow of engaging in the “weaponization of migrants,” without providing specifics and omitting the bloc’s own controversial open-door policies, which have fueled internal backlash for over a decade.

She argued that the alleged Russian threat warranted the EU’s rearmament plan. “So, as we strengthen Ukraine’s defense, we must also take greater responsibility for our own defense,” she said.

In March, von der Leyen floated aplan to raise €800 billion ($934 billion)through debt and tax incentives to re-arm the EU. The EuropeanCouncil later approved a €150 billionborrowing mechanism to fund the initiative.

Moscow has condemned what it calls the West’s “reckless militarization,” while dismissing claims that it intends to attack NATO or EU states as “nonsense.”Russian officials, includingPutin, have accused Western leaders of fearmongeringto justify inflated military budgets and to cover up their economic failures.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently accused theEU of sliding into what he described as a “Fourth Reich,”saying the bloc has “plunged into a Russophobic frenzy, and its militarization is becoming uncontrolled.”

After US President Donald Trump ruled out the idea of NATO membership for Kiev, Ukraine’s European backers shifted to discussing “Article 5-like guarantees.”Policymakers have also considered sending troops to Ukraine as ‘peacekeepers’ and creating a buffer zone with Western patrols.

Russia has rejected the deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine in any form, insisting that a peace settlement must ensure Ukraine’s demilitarization, denazification, neutral and non-nuclear status, and recognition of the territorial realities.

(The EU is setting up to call Trump a Russian stooge, we’ve seen this all before.Thefirst picture is the Portuguese leader saying Trump is a Russian stoogeand thesecond picture saying Putin to blame for all wrong in the EU. Do you see the similarities?)

Rubio hands USAID over for final termination

The foreign aid agency’s closure has saved US taxpayers “tens of billions of dollars,” the secretary of state has said

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Friday he was handing USAID over to the Office of Management and Budgetto “oversee the closeout” of the agency.

Shortly after returning to office in January, US President Donald Trump launched the process of dismantling the agency, which has long served as Washington’s primary funding channel for political projects abroad. He accused the organization –often criticized by conservatives as promoting liberal causes – of being run by “radical lunatics” and enabling corruption “at levels rarely seen before.”

Since then, thousands of USAID employees have been dismissed or placed on leave, while billions of dollars in contracts have been frozen or canceled under Trump’s broader federal waste-cutting initiative. The administration has been battling lawsuits from dismissed employees and NGOs opposing the shutdown.

Since January, we’ve saved the taxpayers tens of billions of dollars,”Rubio wrote in a post on X. “And with a small set of core programs moved over to the State Department, USAID is officially in close out mode.”

In the same X post, Rubio said he was now handing the agency’s final shutdown over to Office of Management and Budget DirectorRuss Vought to oversee the termination of a body he said had “long ago went off the rails.”

Vought has led Trump’s efforts to claw back funds that clash with the president’s agenda, including allocations to USAID.

USAID’s activities have long drawn criticism from some foreign leaders. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico voiced concerns over what he described as potential “gross interference” in his country’s politics. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban urged eliminating “these foreign networks” that interfere in domestic politics.

This week, formerUSAID chief Samantha Power admitted in a call with Russian pranksters that the agency had invested tens of millions of dollars in Moldova to support pro-EU President Maia Sandu. The money, she said, was drawn from USAID’s Ukraine funds, of which a share was earmarked for Moldova.

US spent ‘tens of millions’ in Moldova – former USAID chief

Samantha Power has admitted that Washington financially backed the pro-Western presidential election winner

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) invested tens of millions of dollars in Moldova to support pro-EU President Maia Sandu, former USAID chief Samantha Power has admitted in a call with Russian pranksters.

Speaking to the notorious duo Vovan and Lexus, who apparently pretended to be Western officials, Power recalled that under her leadership, USAID made “unprecedented investments” in Moldova and “massively” expanded its presence in the country.

She recalled that in the USAID supplementals designated for Ukraine, there was always “tens of millions of dollars” earmarked for Moldova and noted that these funds “went much more further in Moldova than in Ukraine” given the country’s small size.

However, she bemoaned the fact that US President Donald Trump has halted all spending on the countrysince coming into office and dismantled USAID. Trump had previously said the agency was run by “radical lunatics” and officially dissolved it last month, with the remnants being absorbed into the State Department.

Power added that the halt in funding to Moldova was particularly concerning ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country, noting that Sandu had only narrowly managed to retain her post in the last election. Powerdescribed Sandu as a “democratic bright spot,” recalling that she had graduated from the Kennedy School of Harvard University.

Power suggested that with Trump going to the sidelines on Moldova, it was now up to Europe and people like French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to step in and play a more “important” role.

Power’s comments come asSandu’s government has faced mounting accusations of eroding democracy by banning opposition partiesand cracking down on Eurosceptic politicians and journalists. Earlier this month, Moldovan authorities also sentenced Gagauzia Governor Evgenia Gutsul, who advocated for closer ties with Russia, to seven years in prison.

Russia has slammed Sandu and her government as blatantly Russophobic for targeting politiciansand media that favor better relations with Moscow. Russian officials have also condemned Gutsul’s arrest as evidence the EU was forging a “liberal dictatorship” in Moldova.

Russian comedians Vladimir Kuznetsov and Aleksey Stolyarov, known by their nicknames Vovan and Lexus, are famous for deceiving high-profile public figures into making awkward remarks during conversations they believed would remain private. Over the years, dozens have fallen for their trickery, including former US President George W. Bush, the late US statesman Henry Kissinger, former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, former British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and many others.

Trump promises trilateral meeting with Putin and Zelensky

The US president had previously insisted that his Russian counterpart first meet the Ukrainian leader one-on-one

US President Donald Trump has stated that he believes a trilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky will happen.

Following his recent summit with Putin in Alaska, Trump pushed for a one-on-one between the Russian president and Zelensky ahead of any trilateral gathering. The Kremlin has not ruled outa bilateral meeting, but stressed it should serve as the final stage of talks once tangible progress has been made in the peace process.

In an interview with the Daily Caller on Friday,Trump was asked whether a trilateral meeting is still planned.

“A tri would happen. A bi, I don’t know about, but a tri will happen,” the US president said. “But, you know, sometimes people aren’t ready for it.”

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, while Russia is still interested in direct talks with Ukraine, preparation for such a meeting is not “very active.”

“All our positions have been communicated,” and Ukraine has submitted its own provisions, he said on Friday. “Further discussion is necessary.”

Moscow has already agreed to “show some flexibility” on a number of points that Putin and Trump discussed in Alaska, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told NBC News last week.

The US president later presented his proposals at a follow-up meeting with the Ukrainian leader and his European NATO backers, but “Zelensky said no to everything,” Lavrov said.

The reaction of Kiev’s Western sponsors at the talks “indicates that they don’t want peace,” the top diplomat said.

European NATO leaders have increasingly pushed for “security guarantees”for Ukraine in the form of Western “peacekeepers” or “reassurance forces” – something Moscow has stressed it would never accept, warning of potential uncontrolled escalation.

Moscow has condemned the EU’s recent militarization and longstanding military support for Ukraine. It has consistently described the Ukraine conflict as a proxy war waged by the West and maintained that any settlement must address Russia’s security concerns and the root causes of the crisis, including NATO’s continued eastward expansion.

Kremlin updates on possible Putin-Zelensky meeting

Moscow maintains both “interest and readiness” to continue peace negotiations, Dmitry Peskov has said

Russian President Vladimir Putin has not ruled out meeting Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky but it should serve as the final stage of meaningful diplomacy beforehand, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

US President Donald Trump urged the two leaders to meet face-to-face, following his summit with Putin earlier this month in Alaska.

In a press briefing on Friday, Peskov stressed that the Russian president remains open to bilateral talks with Zelensky.

“He does not rule out the possibility of holding such a meeting, but believes that any summit meeting should be well preparedso that it can finalize the work that must first be carried out at an expert level,” he said.

Preparation for such a meeting is not “very active,” he added, noting that Moscow maintains “interest and readiness for negotiations.”

Peskov also stressed the need for ongoing peace talks, following Putin’s meeting with Trump in Alaska, to stay confidential.

In the interests of the settlement, it is now important to work in a discrete fashion.

“We are deliberately not disclosing all the details of the conversation between the two presidents, which took place in Alaska,” where “the topic of Ukrainian settlement was discussed in depth,” he added.

Trump has reportedly grown increasingly frustrated with both Ukraine and the EU in recent weeks for making unrealistic demands, The Atlantic reported on Thursday, citing US officials. He has previously urged Zelensky to “show some flexibility,” to advance the peace process.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said last week that Moscow has agreed to be flexible on several issues discussed by Trump and Putin in Alaska.

Ukraine security guarantees only after peace deal – Moscow

Western proposals only serve to destabilize the region, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said

Security guarantees for Ukrainemust be the result of a settlement of the conflict with Russia, not a precondition for negotiations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

Kiev has demanded security guarantees from its Western backers as a prerequisite to a peace deal.Moscow has not ruled out guarantees in principle, but opposes efforts to design them without Russia’s participation.

At a press briefing on Friday, Zakharova saidany guarantees must be based on an “understanding that takes into account the security interests of Russia.” She added that a settlementmust ensure Ukraine’s demilitarization, denazification, neutral and non-nuclear status, and recognition of the territorial realities.

“It is necessary to understand that providing security guarantees is not a condition, but a result of a peaceful settlementbased on eliminating the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine, which, in turn, will guarantee the security of our country,” she said.

Zakharova criticized the Western proposals put forward so far, warning they would only “lead to destabilization.”

“The options proposed by the Collective West are one-sided, built with the obvious expectation of containing Russia… they increase the risk of NATO being drawn into an armed conflict with our country,” she said, adding that they would “secure Kiev’s role as a strategic provocateur on Russia’s borders.”

Kiev earlier pushed for NATO membership as a security guarantee, but US President Donald Trump has ruled this out. Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky and his European backers have also called for “Article 5-like guarantees” obligating the US-led military bloc to act if Ukraine is attacked. European policymakers have also considered sending troops to Ukraine as peacekeepers and creating a buffer zone with Western patrols.Moscow has rejected the deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine, whether as peacekeepers or otherwise.

Moscow and Kiev have held three rounds of talks in the past three months, leading to major prisoner swaps. While a breakthrough has not been reached, US envoy Steve Witkoff said this week that Washington hopes to settle the conflict by the end of 2025, citing a “peace proposal on the table” and ongoing contact with Russian and Ukrainian officials.

Vance accuses Politico of ‘foreign influence operation’ against Witkoff

The German-owned outlet published a hit piece based on anonymous and truncated quotes

US Vice President J.D. Vance has accused Politico ofrunning a “foreign influence operation” against special envoy Steve Witkoff, blasting the outlet’s reporting as “journalistic malpractice” for relying on anonymous officialswhile excluding on-the-record statements from senior figures who defended him.

The article, published on Friday by Politico correspondentFelicia Schwartzwith the headline “‘His inexperience shines through’: Steve Witkoff struggles to manage Russia as Trump peace envoy,” cited 13 anonymousAmerican and foreign officials who claimed that Witkoff lacks diplomatic skills and has caused confusion in ongoing negotiations with Moscow.

“This story from Politico is journalistic malpractice. But it’s more than that: it’s a foreign influence operationmeant to hurt the administration and one of our most effective members,” Vance wrote on X.

The only people Politico mentioned by name were those actually defending Witkoff.. Vance said Schwartz omitted his own full statement as well as quotes from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former White House adviser Jared Kushner, and British diplomat Jonathan Powell.

“The person who wrote this garbage… They have an agenda to blow up the president’s efforts to make peace, and theysaw her as a useful vessel to launder garbage into the conversation, truth be damned,” Vance added.

Powell, the UK’s former chief negotiator in Northern Ireland, was quoted briefly as saying Witkoff “opened doors no one else could.”However, in his full remarks,he dismissed the “snobbery in diplomacy”and explained at length whyWitkoff is “exactly the kind” of independent negotiatorwho succeeds where others fail.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also accused Politico of deliberately cherry-picking quotes to fit a narrative. Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair went further, calling the article “a foreign influence operationrun through a German-controlled online media outlet.”

Witkoff has led the Trump administration’s back-channel talks with Russia and held multiple meetings with President Vladimir Putin and other top officials as part of Washington’s efforts to negotiate an end to the Ukraine conflict.

Politico also claimed, citing another anonymous “person familiar,” that the Russians in touch with Witkoff are “frustrated”by his supposed “inability to properly convey Putin’s messages and red lines to Trump.”

Russian officials, however, have spoken warmly of him, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously saying “we are always glad to see Mr. Witkoff in Moscow,” and calling the meetings “important, meaningful, and very useful.”

It’s the end of the road for Zelensky and the Neo-Nazi state

29 Aug, 2025 09:06

Kiev restricts mass gatherings after anti-government protests

Zelensky’s attempt to strip the independence of anti-graft bodies triggered mass demonstrations last month

The Ukrainian authorities have introduced a requirement that all mass gatherings receive prior approval from the military, according to local media and an official. The move comes weeks after Vladimir Zelensky faced widespread protests over his attempt to curtail the independence of anti-corruption agencies.

The restriction, attributed to security concerns, was reported this week based on a leaked instruction from Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko to senior officials. The document outlined a general regulation for mass gatherings under martial lawand stated that in Kiev, organizers must obtain permission directly from the General Staff.

On Friday, Nikolay Kalashnik, the head of the Kiev Region administration, confirmed the policyin comments about a recent event – a small concert that he said sparked complaints from residentsand had not been approved by the military. (Are you fucking kidding me? Kyiv steals citizens off the street for military service and they actually care what residents want.Bullshit)

Last month, the Ukrainian parliament passed legislation placing the prosecutor general in charge of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), both previously independent watchdogs. The change was widely seen at home and abroad as an attempt by Zelensky to shield his allies from investigation.

Kiev’s explanation thatthe reform was needed to root out alleged Russian influence within the agencies failed to convince critics. The decision triggered mass protests reminiscent of anti-government demonstrations prior to the 2022 escalation of the conflict with Russia and prompted Western officials to cut some funding, reportedly warning of a full freeze in aid. The government reversed course under pressure.

The controversy coincided with a declinein Zelensky’s approval ratings and renewed Western interest in potential successors. Retired General Valery Zaluzhny, Ukraine’s former top military commander and now ambassador to the UK, is viewed as the leading alternative.

Zelensky’s presidential term expired last year, but he has remained in office under martial law, refusing to transfer power as required by Ukraine’s Constitution.

Young Ukrainians rushing to leave the country – border official

The exodus comes after Kiev lifted its wartime travel ban on men under 23 earlier this month

Young men are leaving Ukraine in large numbers after Kiev lifted its travel ban on males aged 18 to 22, a border official announced on Thursday.

Earlier this month, Ukraine’s VladimirZelensky ordered authorities to allow men in the age group to leave, marking a significant shift in the application of martial law. Males aged 18 to 60 were barred from travelling abroad beginning in February 2022. Only women, children, and men either below conscription age or formally removed from the military register had been permitted to leave, with limited exceptions.

State Border Guard Service spokesman Andrey Demchenko said that young people had already begun departing after the travel ban was lifted.Large numbers were reportedly heading toward the borders with Poland and Hungary, causing traffic jams that have been widely publicized on social media. He confirmed that the first applicants had already completed the necessary paperwork at checkpoints and left the country. (Note:Poland and Germany are hated by Zelensky, he has threatened them with terrorism, even though they are part of the EU.)

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the regulation on Tuesday, saying it would apply to all men in the age group, including those already abroad. It took effect on Thursday, requiring those crossing the border to present a passport and military ID.

Kiev’s general mobilization, which mandates all able-bodied men aged 25 to 60 be available to serve in the armed forces, has failed to make up for ongoing battlefield losses and has reportedly led Ukrainian commanders to voice concerns over persistent manpower shortages. Ukrainian officials say nearly 400,000 servicemen have deserted, and many do not plan to return.

Recruiters have resorted to using force to fill the ranks. Videos of forced conscription posted on social media have fueled public anger. Many men have tried to flee across rivers or remote terrain, with border guards intercepting thousands and sometimes resorting to the use of firearms.

(Is Ukraine sending terrorism trained pro Ukraine residents to other countries, because they don’t have enough soldiers, and they anticipate losing the war,to embed terrorists and protestors to other countries? Zelensky and the government wouldn’t be so gracious to let their citizens leave!Zelensky insinuated he already sent rabble rousers around the world two years ago.Of course not all are bad that are leaving, but there are a lot to bad ones are being sent. Zelensky blames the West for losing the war.)
