Edward Hyde, Lord Cornbury (1661-1723), was a cousin of Queen Anne of Great Britain, who appointed him Governor of the Province of New York and New Jersey from 1702 to 1708. The corrupt Cornbury, generally detested in the colonies, was reputedly the worst British governor in America. Regardless of the identity of the person in this curious portrait (who appears to have a “five-o’clock shadow”), the claims against Cornbury represent an historically early discussion of gender cross-dressing.

This woman’s mother is the CEO of ROC Nation - she was a big NYC drug dealer for most of her life and was busted in a federal investigation and then was a fed informant for over 20 years.
