They fix stock movements just as they fix the price of gold. An honest market powers creativity and innovation. They're out to destroy that, and to do it they need to control the markets precisely, and so we got electronic trading. That was supposed to "level the playing field" between big and small traders. It changed the game giving far more precise control to those who built or bothered to understand the etrading platform and associated systems.
