They've killed very few civilians, and Ukrainian propagandists are perpetually beclowning themselves trying to pretend that the usual single-digit handful of injured civilians that accompany the latest attack using hundreds of standoff weapons fired into city centers (producing secondary explosions visible from outer space as military targets hidden among civilian infrastructure are destroyed with surgical precision) somehow constitute gEnOCiDe rather than some of the most well-controlled warfighting in the history of the business.

Demonstrating the financial reach that underscores what national-security experts have told The Bureau — that Chinese networks exert significant influence over the cartels by controlling both money laundering and chemical precursor supply — Zhang was tied to "approximately 150 companies and approximately 170 bank accounts," according to U.S. investigations.

Zhang, known also as "Brother Wang" and "Pancho," is charged in the Northern District of Georgia with a series of narcotics and financial crimes, including conspiracy to import cocaine and fentanyl, conspiracy to distribute narcotics, and money-laundering conspiracies and monetary transactions affecting interstate and foreign commerce. The government's 30-page detention motion, filed on July 11, 2025, lays out his alleged command role in a transnational network spanning Mexico, the United States, and China — a filing that came just weeks before Mexico extradited 26 cartel prisoners on August 12.

In the early hours of July 11, Zhang reportedly evaded National Guard members stationed outside his residence and slipped through a tunnel connecting his home in the Lomas de Padierna neighborhood to a neighboring property. According to reporting, three outsiders helped him flee — a maneuver quickly compared to El Chapo's 2015 escape from the Altiplano prison.

There Will Be No Peace In Ukraine Until Washington Admits To Itself It Has Lost The War

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told NBC’s Kristen Welker of Meet the Press that no meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently in the works. The Russian diplomat indicated his government is not interested in such a meeting until a “presidential agenda” was agreed upon that included certain Russian demands, including an agreement Ukraine will not seek membership in NATO and will discuss ceding some territory to Russia.

“When President Trump brought … those issues to the meeting in Washington, it was very clear to everybody that there are several principles which Washington believes must be accepted, including no NATO membership, including the discussion of territorial issues, and Zelenskyy said no to everything,” said Lavrov.

Trump has positioned himself as an arbitrator, a peacemaker between two warring governments. And therein lies the problem. As Daniel McAdams pointed out several months ago in an interview with this writer, Washington can’t be an arbitrator in this conflict because it is a party to the conflict. “It’s like having a boxing match and the referee starts punching somebody,” quipped McAdams.

Indeed, I said the same thing just days after the war started. It has been clear from the beginning to anyone being honest with himself this war was never between Ukraine and Russia. It was a war between Washington and Russia, fought by Ukrainians on their land but funded and directed by Washington. It began in 2014 when Washington overthrew the democratically elected Ukrainian government and installed a Washington puppet, who immediately tried to take away Russia’s naval base at Sevastopol.

The Trump administration is weighing a proposal for the postwar reconstruction of Gaza that would put the Strip under US control for a decade and pay roughly a quarter of its population to relocate, many of them permanently, according to a Sunday report.

Anonymous sources familiar with the process told The Washington Post that key aspects of the proposal were designed “to make real” US President Donald Trump’s expressed hope to turn Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

The plan would place the enclave under a US-run trusteeship for roughly 10 years, “until a reformed and deradicalized Palestinian Polity is ready to step in its shoes,” reported the Post, citing a 38-page presentation for the so-called GREAT Trust proposal — short for Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation.

During that 10-year period, the war-torn enclave would be rebuilt into a profitable tourism and tech manufacturing hub on the dime of public and private investors, who would fund “mega-construction projects” including electric vehicle plants, data centers, beach resorts and high-rise apartment complexes.

Meanwhile, Palestinians would be encouraged to relocate outside the Strip. Those who choose to leave Gaza — either temporarily or permanently — would receive “a $5,000 cash payment and subsidies to cover four years of rent elsewhere, as well as a year of food,” according to the report.

The plan assessed that around a quarter of Gaza’s more than two million residents would choose to relocate outside the territory during reconstruction. Of those, some 75 percent — numbering 375,000 people — would choose to permanently leave the enclave, the document said.

The plan is based on financial models developed by a DC-based team from the Boston Consulting Group — which also worked with the main American contractor on the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

The consultants predicted a fourfold return on investments, which would total some $100 billion over the 10-year reconstruction period. They also suggested in the presentation that additional costs could be cut by encouraging more Gazans to emigrate and soliciting more international aid contributions.

Once Gaza “is demilitarized and deradicalized, the Trust will transfer authorities to an independent Palestinian Polity,” which would eventually “join the Abraham Accords” — the normalization agreements brokered by Trump in his first term between Israel and several Arab states — the document said.

The White House and State Department declined to comment to the Post, while BCG said the work on the trust plan had not been expressly approved and that two senior partners behind the modeling were subsequently fired.

A person familiar with the planning told the newspaper that the document was completed in April “with only minimal change since then.” He further stressed that the plan is not “prescriptive, but is exploring what is possible.” Some aspects of the proposal were first reported by the Financial Times in July.

The report comes after Trump’s White House huddle on Wednesday with officials — including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, former British prime minister Tony Blair and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner — to discuss how to end the Gaza war and future steps.

Iran Identified Israeli Drone Operators Who Took Part In 12-Day War

An Iranian media video report published on August 31 revealed that the Islamic Republic was able to identify three Israeli drone operators who took part in the 12-day war last June based on open source intelligence.

The war broke out on June 13, when Israel launched a surprise attack against Iran’s nuclear program. The fighting ended when a ceasefire was suddenly announced on June 24, just two days after the U.S. joined Israel by attacking three key nuclear sites in the Islamic Republic.

Air defenses in western Iran and around the capital, Tehran, took a blow during the war, with some systems even getting targeted by cells of the Mossad spy agency. Still, the Islamic Republic managed to shoot down multiple Israeli drones, including larger models like the Elbit Hermes 900 and IAI Eitan.

The Iranian report identified three of the drone operators who took part in the war as Ofir Tessler, Eden Veter and Ofir Isler.

According to the report, the operators were identified via their profiles on LinkedIn, a professional social network. All three mention on their profiles current or previous involvement with IAI (Israeli Aerospace Industries), Israeli Air Force (IAF) or private Israeli industries related to the drone business.

The report is surprising considering the amount of effort the IAF and the rest of the Israeli Defense Forces make to conceal the identity of service members in sensitive posts.

While the IDF acknowledged that its drones were armed a few years ago, it keeps such capabilities and operations under tight wraps.

The report came just a day after The New York Times revealed that Israel was able to track and target senior Iranian political officials, military commanders and nuclear scientists during the war by hacking the phones of their bodyguards and drivers. It is very likely that it was published in response, as it reveals similar, although not as catastrophic, flows in Israeli security measures.
