A national emergency alert test will be conducted across the UK on Sunday, 7 September 2025, at approximately 3 PM BST.
Mobile phones and tablets connected to 4G and 5G networks will receive a test message, triggering a loud siren sound and vibration lasting up to 10 seconds.
The alert will clearly state it is a test and that no action is required.
Test Details: The test is a routine check of the UK's Emergency Alerts system to ensure it functions correctly during life-threatening emergencies.
It marks the second national test, following the first in 2023.
