NY Times Makes Reportedly False Claim About Israel's Founder, Refuses To Offer Retraction

The claim reinforces the Times' hatred of Israeli settlements and Israel's annexation of territories captured in 1967

The New York Times, caught repeating a reportedly false claim from 1987 that Israel's founding prime minister David Ben Gurion wanted Israel to give up land it had conquered in the 1967 Six-Day War, has refused to correct the error even though the 1987 claim was debunked three months ago.

As historian Martin Kramer pointed out on Saturday, in last Monday’s edition of the Times, the false claim occurred on page A1 in an article by Max Fisher titled, “Israel, Riding Nationalist Tide, Puts Identity First. It Isn’t Alone.”

Linda Tripp to make first public appearance in 18 years at whistleblowers conference

Monday is National Whistleblowers Day — a date formally adopted by the U.S. Senate in late June by unanimous resolution which recognizes the very first whistleblowers law enacted by the Continental Congress on July 30, 1778. The day will be marked on Capitol Hill by the National Whistleblowers Center, a nonprofit legal advocacy organization founded in 1998 which works on behalf of those willing to reveal what they know.

“Linda Tripp, a former U.S. civil servant who blew the whistle on a sitting president, speaks this year at the National Whistleblower Day celebration. This is the first public address Tripp will be making since 2000,” the group noted in a statement, adding a reminder of past events.
