sort of agree here. took a decision to quit law school and raise my kids. quitting law school was easy(AI going to crush that woke-filled field), but submitting to the idea of not really having a professional identity, for now, is tough. I'm used to it and have managed to scrape by across many fields, but this moment seems to be calling for thinking long term. boomers are dying. the adults today are what? gen x, millenials, and gen z? gen x is generally hands off, the millenials are talentless ass clowns(older millenials that still remember times before the internet may wake up), and gen z is a mixed bag(some hope). whatever this timeline is, it does feel like a new act in the movie, but as there's not much in terms of accelerating the timeline…in fact the only winning moved may actually be not to play, right? to walk away and get on with life, an honorable exit for perhaps even well meaning maga are in some ways counterproductive if too activated? just pontificating. in any case, with the civil rights act(and satan's demons) having undermined almost all of my life's professional or material opportunities, what I have left is hope for the future because the shitstorm our predecessors left for us isn't ever going to remove the scars of these times among these generations, family, and ex-friends, even if they heal.
