Putin ready to host Zelensky in Moscow

Such a meeting, however, must have a meaningful agenda, the Russian president has said

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated his readiness to host Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky in Moscow. Holding meetings for the sake of meetings is a “path to nowhere,” however, and such talks must be meaningful, he stressed.

The Russian president was speaking to gathered media on Wednesday at the Diaoyutai Residence in Beijing, China, marking the end of a 4-day visit -his longest trip abroad since 2012 - to China, that included the SCO summit, bilateral talks and a military parade on Tiananmen Square.

“It’s a path to nowhere, to just meet, let’s put it carefully, the de-facto head of the [Ukrainian] administration. It’s possible, I’ve never refused to, if such ameeting is well-prepared and would lead to some potential positive results,” Putin stated, in response to a question on whether he planned to meet Zelensky.

US President Donald Trump asked the Russian president to hold such a meeting during their summit in Alaska last month, Putin added. “If Zelensky is ready, he can come to Moscow, and such a meeting will take place,” he said.

At the same time, Putin reiterated concerns about the legitimacy of the Ukrainian leader and whether meeting him would actually be “meaningful.”

Zelensky’s presidential term has long run out, and no legal mechanism to extendit exists in Ukraine, he said. In an interview with the Indonesian newspaper Kompas released on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister SergeyLavrov confirmed that Moscow’s top priority remains settling the crisis via peaceful means, adding that it is taking concrete steps to achieve that goal.

Lavrov recalled that Moscow initiated the resumption of direct Russia-Ukraine talks this spring, resulting in three rounds of direct negotiations in Istanbul, Türkiye. He noted that the sides reached “certain progress,” including prisoner exchanges and the repatriation of the bodies of dead soldiers.

Putin is right, Ukraine and the EU know and have pushed the sham, because Zelensky is not legally the President, so later Ukraine and the EU can denounce the plan when and if Putin signs a treaty. And they'll be right back at war.

Lavrov demands international recognition of Russia’s new regions

Kiev should commit to bloc neutrality and acknowledge the new territorial reality, the foreign minister has said

Ukraine must recognize its territorial losses, guarantee the rights of the Russian-speaking population, and agree to a security arrangement that poses no threat to Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

In an interview with the Indonesian newspaper Kompas released on Wednesday, Lavrov signaled that Russia is open to talks with Ukraine, but noted that a “durable peace” is only possible if Moscow’s territorial gains — including Crimea, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson Region and Zaporozhye Region — are“recognized and formalized in an international legal manner.”

The regions overwhelminglyvotedto join Russia in public referendums in 2014 and 2022.

Lavrov furtherasserted that peace hinges on “eradicating the underlying cause” of the conflict, whichstems from NATO’s expansion and “attemptsto drag Ukraine into this aggressive military bloc.”

“Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned, and nuclear-free status must be ensured. These conditions were spelled out in Ukraine’s 1990 Declaration of Independence, and Russia and the international community used them to recognize Ukrainian statehood,” the foreign minister said.

Another cornerstone of a potential settlement is Kiev’s promise to ensure human rights. At present, Kiev “is exterminating everything connected with Russia, Russians, and Russian-speaking people, including the Russian language, culture, traditions, canonical Orthodoxy, and Russian-language media,” he said.

He added thatUkraine “is the only country where the use of the language spoken by a significant portion of the population has been outlawed.”

Since the Western-backed coup in Kiev in 2014,Ukraine has taken steps to sever centuries-old cultural tieswith its larger neighbor through legislation outlawing statues and symbolism associated with the country’s past and by phasing out the Russian language in all spheres of life.

Kiev is also cracking down on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), the largest Christian denomination in the country, which it accuses of maintaining links to Moscow, despite the church declaring a break with Russia in 2022.

Ukraine has also rejected any territorial concessions to Russia and continues to pursue its aspiration of joining NATO.

(I still think that Trump and Putin discussed the need to eliminate all the 12 rogue CIA bases in Ukraine, and other crimes against humanity. That is the delay, the US and Russia need to clean up the territory.)

Trump claims he’s not concerned by Russia-China partnership

The US president made the remark in reference to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s four-day visit to Beijing

US President Donald Trump has said he is not worried about China-Russia ties, insisting that America has the world’s “strongest” military.

He made the comment on Tuesday in response to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, where Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, who called him his “old friend.”

Moscow and Beijing have described each other as strategic partners and have pledged to deepen cooperation “without limits.”

In an interview with The Scott Jennings Radio Show, Trump was asked if he was concerned “about an axis forming against the United States with China and Russia.” The president responded“I am not concerned at all,” adding “We have the strongest military in the world, by far. They would never use their military on us. Believe me.”

The remarks came just ahead of a military parade in Beijing marking China's World War II victory over Japan. Putin attended the celebrations alongside North Korea’s Kim Jong-un and other leaders.

Speaking about the conflict in Ukraine, Trump said he was “very disappointed” in Putin and added without elaborating thathis administration was preparing actions “to help people live.”

Trump met Putin in Alaska last month in an effort to mediate a ceasefire in Ukraine. No breakthroughs were reached, but both sides called the talks positive. Trump has since urged direct talks between Putin and Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said last week that Putin “does not rule out the possibility of holding such a meeting,” but stressed it should be carefully prepared.

On Wednesday, Trump posted on Truth Social during the parade that Xi, Putin, and Kim were “conspiring” against Washington. He congratulated Xi, honored Americans who died in China’s “quest for Victory and Glory,” and wrote: “Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, as you conspire against the United States.”

Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said he hoped Trump had made the comments in jest. He stressed that “nobody is plotting any conspiracies” and added that everyone understood the role played by the United States, the Trump administration and the president personally in international affairs.

(I think the communications via media, are either negotiations or plans for further work together for US and Russia, it doesn’t seem like it now, but it’s possible. I might be wrong, but we've found out many in the past seemed like that.)

European NATO states have ‘no political will’ – US envoy

Allies are looking for American leadership on Ukraine matters, Matthew Whitaker has said

European NATO members are indecisive when it comes to the Ukraine conflict, US envoy to the bloc Matthew Whitaker has said. The diplomat made the remarks while speaking at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia on Tuesday.

“I think it’s very naive to believe that the United States can decree that the fighting stop and that somehow Russia or Ukraine – either side – will stop the fighting,”Whitaker said.

He criticized NATO for its “lack of political will” and reluctance to take any major steps without American involvement. The United States has contributed just over half of the military aid which has been sent to Ukraine, he noted.

“The elephant in the room is that there’s no political will among our allies to do what it takes to stop this war, all the NATO allies,” Whitaker added.“Europe could put troops in. But nobody’s willing to do that.”(Whittaker is completely wrong to send NATO or EU states in, first they have no authority and no legal way to put in troops, plus they never planned on doing anything. Their Mantra they have, "is down to the last Ukrainian")

Whitaker’s statements come after European Commission President Ursulavon der Leyen said the bloc has “pretty precise plans” for a multinational force to deploy into Ukraine after the conflict is settled.

The remarks were, however, rebukedby German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who said theEU has no “jurisdiction or competence” on the matter. (Ukraine is not a NATO member and not part of the EU, it’s just stupid threats. NATO is only required to protect other NATO members)

Russia has repeatedly stated that it would not tolerate any Western troops on Ukrainian soil, even if they are sent as peacekeepers.

(Whittaker sounds like he's not educated, saying the EU and NATO wouldn’t put any troops in. No one should have ever put Troops in, they literally can't, and they shouldn't have started this war against Russia. Matt seems like he's gone off the deep end.)

Search for Titanic was US Navy covert op – CNN

The 1985 expedition to the sunken ocean liner was a front for testing a new deep-sea imaging system, the head of the mission has said

The 1985 discovery of the sunken RMS Titanic by American researchers was in fact part of a broader, covert US Navy mission aimed at testing a newly-developed deep-sea imaging system, the expedition’s head, Bob Ballard, has told CNN.

In an article published on Monday, the media outlet quoted the researcher as sayinghow after an unsuccessful initial attempt to locate the resting placeof the ocean liner in the 1970s,he turned to the military for fundingto develop a remotely operated underwater vehicle that could transmit live footage to a ship above.

Eventually, the US Navy agreed to provide financial support for Ballard’s deep-sea imaging system, dubbed the Argo. He revealed that the “Titanic [search] was coverfor a top-secret military operationI was doing as a naval intelligence officer.” He clarified that hisdefense sector backers “didn’t want the Soviets to know” about those activities.

According to CNN,military officials intended to deploy the system to examine two sunken US nuclear submarines, the USS Thresher and the USS Scorpion, with a view to using it later for “broader Cold War intelligence-gathering purposes.”

Ballard assisted the US Navyin the examination of the said two vessels, with the time spent on the search for the Titanic serving as a “cover story for the Navy’s secret mission,” the publication said.

The Titanic, which was one of the largest passenger liners of its time, sank on April 15, 1912 off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada after hitting an iceberg during its maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York City. Of the estimated 2,224 passengers and crew aboard the liner, more than 1,500 people perished, making the incident one of the deadliest of its kind in modern history

Belgium announces sanctions against Israel

Brussels will blacklist two “extremist ministers” and boycott settler goods

Belgium will recognize Palestinian statehoodand impose sanctions on Israel over its war in Gaza, the country’s Foreign Ministry has announced.

The Western European country, which hosts the headquarters of both the EU and NATO, unveiled the measures on Tuesday as pressure grows on Israel to reach a ceasefire with Hamas and allow more humanitarian aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave.

In light of the “humanitarian tragedy in Gaza,”Belgium has decided to “increase pressure on the Israeli government and Hamas terrorists,” Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot wrote on X. “This is not about punishing the Israeli people, but about ensuring that their government respects international and humanitarian law and takes action to change the situation on the ground,” he added. (*see notes below)

The sanctions include a ban on imports of products from Jewish settlements in the West Bank and restrictions on consular assistance for Belgian nationals living in settlements considered illegal under international law.

Brussels will also review procurement involving Israeli companies and blacklist “two extremist Israeli ministers, several violent settlers, and Hamas leaders,” Prevot said. He added that Belgium would push for the suspension of the EU’s trade agreement with Israel.

Several countries, including France, plan to recognize Palestine at the UN General Assembly later this month, drawing strong criticism from Israel.

Last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused France and Australia of failing to tackle anti-Semitism, arguing that recognition of Palestine would only embolden Hamas.

Israel has rejected UN warnings of famine in Gaza, where more than 63,500 people have been killed since October 2023, according to local health authorities. West Jerusalem has pledged to allow the delivery of aid, but not through distribution points it claims are controlled by Hamas.

(Are sanctions useful or are they a platform for virtue signaling. Does it harm the sanctioned, if not, stop doing this tit for tat, diplomacy, and recognize the two sides are at fault.)

*Notes:

What Belgium and all other virtue signaling countries are ignoring, while they point out Israel only, is that the Palestinian adults and children, have been trained from birth to be terrorists against Israel. This is not a theory, it’s been proven by many foundations, authors, investigators, etc. The Christian Palestinians, if they exist, and Christian sects living in Palestine are not terrorists==.

Journalist Yoni Ben Menachem, in a recent article entitled “The Phenomenon of Palestinian Teen Terrorists,”2 lists the causes that serve as the pretext for this recent resurgence of teenage terror. These include social network incitement through “Tik Tok,” “Instagram” and other platforms that permit graphic video footage, accentuating Israeli military actions against armed terrorist groups in Palestinian towns, including the demolitions of illegal houses.Such videos deliberately and artfully glorify those terrorists as role models for Palestinian teenagers.

https://jcpa.org/article/palestinian-teenage-terror-inherently-illegal-but-does-anyone-care/

There are many reports such as this from many Foundations, Think Tanks, Military, etc., the children and adults are terrorized and then can become terrorists, under Hamas. I'm not and won't take sides on Israel and Palestine, buy there are lessons on both sides.
