The stories are the healing. The truth is the light in the darkness. The pattern of abuse is being covered up by those who want to continue the abuse. The victims' voices are what our broken society needs. The amends made by those who were complicit are what got us here. Allow redemptive stories by those who volunteer for accountability, and venerate the stories of those brave enough to come forward.

Don't join in with the cowardly masses who subconsciously stand behind what they perceive to be strength and adopt the narratives of the abusers to minimize or reframe the experience of the victims.

Taking advantage of asymmetry is predatory. It creates victims. Uneven age. Uneven power. Uneven status. Uneven wealth. Uneven resources. The playbook is known. Don't ignore it. The next generation of children does not have to suffer in the same cycle.

Narrative framing becomes easier with this partial release, these were mostly already in the public domain. There is plenty to go on, but what is the story?

To me the story is that centralized power is a lever that can be captured. We've allowed the deceivers and the manipulators the tools to gain credibility without earning it - from doctors wearing lab coats to executives wearing suits to boob jobs to makeup. We've allowed all but character and principle to define what we choose in our leaders. As such, there is a lack of integrity, and plenty of capturability. Principles over personalities while our government and media circuses are the opposite.

Why are we not hearing the truth? It's more than simple avoidance of accountability. There are those who would like to see the truth in the open, but fear that we will not allow it. Should we blame them? Do they correctly identify that there are misinformation and disinformation campaigns that can subvert their attempts to come clean faster than they can explain their stories? Stories which would show the gap between the pedestal they/we have put them on, and the reality of their flawed humanity?

How would we provide the conditions where telling the truth is not as scary? We make fun of our sick. We are so sick ourselves, that we seek weakness in others for short term status fixes. Look at how the victims are being described, vs how the perpetrators are being described. An alleged victim. Of a procurer and a financier.

We need a sit down. Eyes on the camera - not on some personality getting their big break story. We need good questions. Real talking. Real people. Not a production. We need brave people who are ready to speak out. We need our heroes to volunteer for social suppuku - by telling the truth. And we need to thank them when they do. And help them make amends. For some, that should be the requirement….

And for the victims. The truth is difficult for them too. The tendency is to reach for the salacious, but that doesn't understand the psychology. Empathy is mandatory for this mission. For those who care, it is not time to relive the trauma or the details in interviews with the victims - that's a job for lawyers and deep dives. It is time for the bulk of us to identify the patterns. To help society understand how the psychopath and the sociopath uses heirarchy and biology and status symbols to identify and victimize the young, the naive, the weak, and the powerless.

Our world right now particularly venerates the narcissist and sides with him or her against the victim. The truth can set us free. But we need to step up our thinking. We need to move away from the abstracted, low resolution, basic first order thinking that is intentionally crafted to keep us from thinking. We cannot be effective if we are in the vague, on the surface, misdirected, and communicating poorly.

Nothing works but eyes on, face to face honest, clear speaking and clear thinking truthtellers who have done the work to understand where they've been, what happened, and where they are today. It's time to hear it - make it safe. Make it safe for the people who know and would speak out. Don't join in the chorus of those who mindlessly parrot the victimblaming.

There will be those who will never let go of their popularity to be honest about what they have done. And there are those that, quite honestly, aren't of much value to anyone else on earth except if they were to do so, who must be dealt with accordingly - with justice and accountability. But there are also the redeemed. Those who broke the cycle, flipped, were coerced and not complicit, or too young to know better. Allow for change in the gray areas, while holding fast at the extremes. Allow honest efforts to make amends, to turn life around. The more we paint with a broad brush, the less of these first hand accounts we will hear, from both sides.
