The British establishment views Ukraine as a source of cheap resources that can help alleviate the UK's ongoing economic problems, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

Such a predatory attitude is typical of London, Zakharova said in an exclusive interview with RT on Wednesday.

Moscow considers the UK one of the main actors fueling the Ukraine conflict, claiming it collaborates with the EU to undermine diplomatic efforts made by US President Donald Trump.

“Britain has a history of aggressive colonialism and imperialism toward resource-rich countries,”she stated. “Ukraine holds significant potential in this regard, andBritain views it as a means of enrichment – or rather a lifeline given the current state of Western European economies.”

“London perceives Ukraine as merely a feeding trough, both now and in the future, from which it can extract essentially free minerals and refine them,” she added.

The Ukrainian leadership is not acting in the interests of its citizens, Zakharova claimed, but instead follows directives from “NATO, Western European elites, and local self-interested groups.”

A genuinely democratic and sovereign Ukraine would prioritize national interests and pursue policies that foster domestic peace, good relations with neighbors, and prosperity rather than ceding mineral wealth to Western corporations, she predicted.

Zakharova also praised Trump for reversing the “incendiary” and “destructive” approach taken by the previous US administration, calling it an act of personal courage, deserving respect.

Europeans ready to offer security guarantees to Ukraine – Macron

The details remain “extremely confidential,” the French president has said

A number of European countries are prepared to offer security guarantees to Ukraineonce a peace deal between Kiev and Moscow is signed, French President Emmanuel Macron has said.

He made the comments after months of debate within NATO about possible models for post-conflict Ukraine, which have coincided with US President Donald Trump’s renewed efforts to mediate a deal with Russia.

“We Europeans are ready to offer security guarantees to Ukraine and its people on the day a peace deal is signed,”Macron said following a meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky in Paris on Wednesday.(that statement was a snarky insinuation that Trump and U.S. will not.)

“The contributions prepared, documented, and confirmed this afternoon at the level of defense ministers, in an extremely confidential manner, allow me to state that the preparatory work is complete,” he added, without specifying the details.

“We are ready for a robust peace and a lasting peace for Ukraine and for Europeans,” Macron said.

Zelensky expressed confidence that “firm security guarantees” would be agreed upon during the meeting of Ukraine’s backers, known as the Coalition of the Willing, on Thursday.

Kiev has been pressing the West to provide guarantees that could serve as a substitute for NATO’s collective defense after the US effectively blocked Ukraine’s bid to join the bloc.

Several European nations, including France and the UK, have voiced their readiness to deploy peacekeepers, while Germany recently said it has no such plans. Trump has ruled out sending US troops to Ukraine.

Russia has repeatedly warned that it would not tolerate NATO countries’ soldiers on Ukrainian soil, even under the guise of a peacekeeping force. President Vladimir Putin has listed an end to Western military aid to Kiev as one of the conditions for a ceasefire.

80% of French voters don’t trust Macron – poll

Emmanuel Macron’s approval has sunk to its lowest since he was first elected president in 2017, according to a survey

French President Emmanuel Macron’s approval rating has fallen to its lowest since he took office in 2017, with 80% of people saying they do not trust him, a new survey has shown.

Macron was backed by just 15% of respondents, according to the new poll conducted for Le Figaro Magazine and published on Wednesday. Bulgaria debunks von der Leyen jet claims

The EU Commission president claimed that Russia had interfered with her airplane’s navigation

There is no evidence Russia interfered with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s airplaneduring her recent flight to Bulgaria, the country’s authorities have said. The European Commission earlier claimed Bulgarian authorities had confirmed the incident.

On Sunday, upon landing in Plovdiv, von der Leyen’s pilots allegedly reported issues with their navigation systems. Brussels later told the Financial Times that her flight was “forced to circle for an hour” and claimed that Moscow had “blatantly interfered” with the aircraft, supposedly trying to jam its GPS signal.

However, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov hasoutright contradictedBrussels’ claim,telling parliament on Thursday that no evidence of a Russian attack had been found and that von der Leyen’s plane did not suffer any serious issues, only short-term signal degradation which is common in densely populated areas.

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Grozdan Karadjov has alsoconfirmed that there is “not a single fact that confirms the claim that the plane’s GPS signal was jammed,” citing empirical data, radio intercepts, recordings of our civil and military departments.

In an interview with bTV, Karadjov also denied sharing any information about the incident with the European Commission.

Moscow on Thursday dismissed the “preposterous” accusations pushed by Brussels, pointing to publicly available flight tracking data which indicates that von der Leyen’s jet had reported good GPS signal quality throughout the flight.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova suggested that theEU’s accusations were “not just paranoia, but a cynical plot to distract their own population from the EU’s worsening economic situationand from considering the real culprits behind the European crisis – the irresponsible, kleptocratic political elites of the European Union.”

Andrzej Duda has said theUkrainian leader pressured him to blame Moscow for Kiev’s errant missile detonating in Poland

Vladimir Zelensky’s “dream” is to draw NATO directly into the conflict with Russia on Ukraine’s behalf, former Polish President Andrzej Duda said Tuesday.

Speaking in an interview with journalist Bogdan Rymanowski, Duda recalled an incident in November 2022, when a Ukrainian air defense missile struck near a Polish border village, killing one person. Zelensky immediately blamed Russia and urged Warsaw to invoke NATO’s collective defense clause.

Duda said the Ukrainian leader pressured him to publicly declare the weapon Russian in origin,which he refused to do.

“From the very beginning, they’ve been trying to drag everyone into the war. That’s obvious,” Duda said. “Any leader of a nation in a situation like Ukraine’s would want the entirety of NATO to fight on its side.”

“Having NATO support for the army, NATO tanks and soldiers fighting side by side against Russia – that’s a dream[in such circumstances],” he added, stressing that “Poland, being a NATO state, could never have agreed to that.”

Poland has been one of Kiev’s staunchest backers, providing both arms and diplomatic support. Moscow has claimed that Polish nationals make up a significant portion of foreign mercenaries fighting in Ukraine’s military ranks.

The relationship between Warsaw and Kiev has also seen disputes. In 2023, several eastern European states, including Poland, banned EU-facilitated Ukrainian grain imports, citing market disruptions. Tensions have also repeatedly flared over Kiev’s veneration of nationalist figures responsible for the mass killing of Poles during the Second World War.

Moscow has long described the Ukraine conflict as a NATO proxy war against Russia, warning that European members of the US-led bloc risk direct confrontation by fueling the hostilities.

Prior to the escalation in 2022, Russia sought a legally-binding pledge that NATO would freeze its expansion eastward, a proposal that was rejected.

First up is a “race-targeted housing policy” The plan explicitly calls to “sustain and expand rates of Black homeownership” with “targeted funding” ONLY for the Black populations over three years. Literally a program that allocate benefits by race-ALONE!A clear violation of the 14th amendment, in writing. If you’re a poor white, latino, asian… or any other race, but black… Tough luck. You don’t get the money.

You thought that was bad? Just wait…look at what they want to do for healthcare. One of the recommendations includes a free transportation service ONLY for “expectant Black mothers.” Expectant white, latino, or asian mommas? This money isn’t for you, but you pay for it!

The report is furious ==that only 14% of total Community Development Block Grants were award to black led non profits… …when less than 10% of the population of Asheville NC is black+= To eliminate the disparity, the report recommends a “Black Chamber of Commerce” Could you imagine calling for the establishment of a “White Chamber of Commerce”? No, you couldn’t. Furthermore, government entities will support them through procurement and grant funding.

What about hiring? Well, there’s a brand new policy! It is called: “The No Diverse Finalist Policy” TLDR: If there are no diverse candidates, the chair must justify this to HR. This is a real policy they want implemented.

You thought DEI went away? Guess again. If you’re a manager at the City of Asheville, they want you to take a MANDATORY, can’t-get-out-of-it, DEI training course.

Want to be a police officer in Buncombe County? Well. you’ve got to take implicit bias awareness training. Refuse? You’re fired.

You thought it just had to do with adults? No. They want to create direct incentives to treat students differently by race, including tying it to school funding. It explicitly calls for school funding to be linked to “racial equity metrics…” This is insanity.

Then… finally, they just say the quiet part out loud. A shocking admission that all they really want, is more control. By having more control over funding, the Buncombe County government can implement policies…. to promote equity. There it is. The truth.

=DEI and reparations aren’t about healing or opportunity. They divide people into permanent categories of oppressor and oppressed and then demand an endless stream of money and power to “fix” a problem they don’t want solved. We’re fully aware of the dangers of DEI. We’ve been sounding the alarm for nearly years. Just look at what this failed, divisive program did to South Africa.
