My question about God (or the lack thereof which society presented me with) was, from the very beginning: Well if God isn't real, then why has there never been a successful civilization of any scale? Well, yes, certainly enough not only is there a God, but that the matter most certainly deserves the significance which ancestors gave to it in their daily lives.

I can understand and appreciate why the destructive capabilities of our weapons have made many question the existence of God, but I would implore them to keep digging on that point, because it's really just highlighting an important way which we were wrong in the past (and therefore represents an unprecedented opportunity to learn).
