One thing that's always bothered me about open hedonism is that sexual matters have always been something which I absolutely do NOT want subjected to the machinery of society, because it's SO much better when people actually develop on their own, at their own pace, and learn their own "styles". I just have little respect for people who do want it to be part of every day life for everyone, because things which get that treatment become rote and bland, they don't get better. Some things are important to handle that way, like institutionalizing the permissive use of violence, but doing that to the relationship between lovers just destroys a huge part of what makes life worth living. I REALLY can't stand those who abuse others in this regard either, because it's only when that sort of behaviour becomes commonplace when society would ever consider to intervene between lovers.
