The problem is, that the kicked a hornets nest. The only thing that I am afraid of is that there will be retaliatory strikes against them, and things will escalate and get out of hand nationwide. The USA could wind up looking like Somalia if the feds don't get off their asses and start arresting them instead of letting it slide. Those in the MSM are directly responsible for stoking the fire. Smith Mundt needs to be reinstated, and journalists who don't report the truth and facts, but spew propaganda and lies instead, need to be punished.

Trump has a chance to do something positive here, or he can continue to sit on his hands. The choice is his. He's called out the MSM as the enemy of the people (which they are), but has done nothing further with them. The MSM is the key. Shut down their propaganda machine, and society starts to change.

The press has a responsibility that is different IMO from an individual's free speech. They have the responsibility to report TRUTH. Therefore, intentionally reporting lies or spewing propaganda should be not allowed by the press in a professional sense. The presses job is holding our government accountable. By the same token, they also need to be held accountable. If they intentionally lie (not accidentally mis-report something), they should be criminally liable.

The media is causing most of the division in this country. Political violence is' terrorism by the very definition, and supporting or sponsoring terrorism needs to be punished harshly.

Another thing that would help slow this, is pass a law that says news programs cannot be rated. Fighting for ratings causes sensationalizing everything. Make the do the job that they were actually supposed to do without the BS.

Opinion shows should be on separate networks, and not allowed to be intermixed with news. Some simple rules changes would put a damper in the propaganda machine that we currently are up against.
