NATO deals with another Russian drone incursion on eastern flank
September 15, 2025
A Russian drone crossed into Romanian airspace over the weekend, marking the second instance in less than a week that a NATO ally has accused Moscow of violating allied territory.
Romania’s defense ministry said the Russian drone flew for 50 minutes in its airspace on Saturday before circling back into neighboring Ukraine.
Two Romanian F-16 fighter jets scrambled to intercept the unmanned aircraft, but opted not to shoot it down over collateral damage concerns on the ground, the ministry said in a statement Sunday.
German Typhoon fighters deployed at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base also responded to the incident, the ministry said.
In March, U.S. soldiers from a brigade of the 101st Airborne Division arrived at the base, known colloquially as MK, for a rotational mission aimed at deterring Russia on the alliance’s eastern flank.
Romania has become a key player in NATO’s push to reinforce the alliance’s eastern flank and deter Russian aggression.
It is also an important node in the supply of weaponry to Ukraine. Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base is undergoing a $2.7 billion upgrade that will see it become NATO’s largest.
And a $280 million purchase of Patriot air defense systems from the U.S. that has received State Department approval is among numerous efforts by Romania to become a defense powerhouse.
The defense ministry said it “strongly condemns the irresponsible actions of the Russian Federation,” and added the Kremlin poses “a new challenge to regional security and stability in the Black Sea area.”
The incursion in Romania comes after a larger probing of NATO airspace in Poland last week. On Tuesday, numerous Russian drones crossed into Poland, prompting Warsaw to request emergency talks at NATO headquarters.
Allied aircraft shot down multiple Russian drones during the response, marking the first time in history that NATO had shot down a threat inside its own territory.
On Friday, NATO announced new measures to counter such threats. The mission, dubbed Eastern Sentry, involves more air defenses and other military capabilities along NATO’s eastern flank.

UK to deploy RAF jets to Poland after Russian drone incursion
September 15, 2025
The UK will deploy RAF jets to Poland in response to Russian drones violating the country’s airspace.
In an interview with Channel 4 News, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said Britain would provide “further air defence over Poland” following last week’s incident in which multiple Russian drones were shot down by Nato forces.
He said: “That is the right thing to do. The wrong thing to do would be to ignore this increased aggression from (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, from Russia.
“Because this wasn’t a one-off. You saw only a few weeks ago the bombing of the British Council in Kyiv, the attacking of the EU embassy, and the direct hits on the Council of Ministers in Kyiv itself.”
He added: “It’s absolutely clear that the Russians are ramping up the aggression. It’s very important that, with our Nato allies, we respond appropriately to that and that’s what we’re doing today.”
Typhoon jets from RAF Coningsby, in Lincolnshire, will join Nato’s “Eastern Sentry” mission, flying over Poland alongside aircraft from Denmark, France and Germany.
They will be supported by a Voyager air-to-air refuelling aircraft from RAF Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire.
Defence Secretary John Healey said: “The UK is fully committed to playing its part in Eastern Sentry, increasing our military presence on Nato’s eastern flank even further.”
The announcement comes after Russia’s ambassador in London, Andrei Kelin, was summoned by the Foreign Office on Monday over his country’s “unprecedented violation” of Nato airspace.
As well as last week’s incursion over Poland, Romania’s defence ministry said over the weekend that a Russian drone had entered its airspace and been intercepted by two F-16 fighter jets.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the incident over his country had brought Poland “the closest we have been to open conflict since World War Two”.
In response, the UK said it would join Nato efforts to bolster its eastern flank amid concerns Russia would attempt further incursions.
A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “Russia should understand that its continued aggression only strengthens the unity between Nato allies and our determination to stand with Ukraine, and any further incursions will again be met with force.”
Six RAF Typhoon jets had been based in Poland between April and July as part of Nato’s enhanced air policing mission, a task shared between members of the alliance.
During that deployment, the jets amassed almost 500 flying hours and 20 scrambles, operating alongside Swedish aircraft.

Dozens of Mossad women penetrated Iran during 12-Day War- exclusive
The Mossad is poised to intervene if Tehran seems to be trying to use its uranium to move again in the direction of a nuclear weapon.
Dozens of Mossad women penetrated Iran and were on the ground performing a variety of kinds of operations during Israel's attacks on Tehran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs in June, The Jerusalem Post has learned.
Critically, the Post has learned that Mossad Director David Barnea views the role of female Mossad agents during the Iran War as very substantial.
While the exact nature of what these women did is still classified, in 2024, a senior female Mossad agent known as "G," who has an Iranian background and special expertise in Iran and in recruiting foreign spies in hostile countries, was honored with lighting a torch at Israel's national Independence Day ceremony.

Israel moves Christian archaeological artifacts to safe location in Gaza, says IDF
September 15, 2025 5:35 pm
A trove of archaeological artifacts belonging to the Christian community in Gaza has been transferred to a secure location in the Strip, says Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities (COGAT) in the Territories.
The artifacts include rare mosaics and pottery.
Last week, Olivier Poquillon, director of the French Biblical and Archaeological School of Jerusalem (EBAF), told AFP that Israeli authorities ordered EBAF —
one of the oldest academic institutions in the region — to evacuate its archaeological storehouse located on the ground floor of a residential tower in Gaza City that was due to be targeted.
The Israeli army did not confirm the warning when asked by AFP, but several sources said France, UNESCO and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem played a key role in securing a brief reprieve that allowed most of the artifacts to be removed.
While COGAT’s statement does not specify which warehouse has been evacuated, it says the operation was carried out in coordination with its Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA) for Gaza, in cooperation with an unnamed international organization.
The transfer is described as “part of the efforts to allow the movement of residents and international organizations to the southern Gaza Strip for their protection.”
According to the statement, the content of multiple warehouses belonging to international organizations is in the process of being relocated to the south of the Strip, where Israel has been setting up areas that it describes as safe.
EBAF’s storage contained around 180 cubic meters of finds from Gaza’s five main archaeological sites, including the fourth-century Saint Hilarion Monastery, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

IDF Steps Up Deadly Gaza City Strikes As Rubio Arrives In Israel
September 15, 2025
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) destroyed at least 30 Gaza City homes and displaced thousands as U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Israel on Sunday to discuss the conflict, Palestinian officials said.
Israel has said it plans to seize the city, where about a million Palestinians have been sheltering, as part of its declared aim of eliminating the militant group Hamas, and has intensified attacks on what it has called the last bastion of the militant Palestinian group.
Hamas’ political leadership, which has engaged in on-and-off negotiations on a possible ceasefire and hostage release deal, was targeted by Israel in an airstrike in Doha on Tuesday in an attack that drew widespread condemnation.
Emergency Summit
Qatar will host an emergency Arab-Islamic summit on Monday to discuss the next moves. Rubio said Washington wanted to talk about how to free the 48 hostages still held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip and rebuild the coastal strip. Only 20 are believed to be alive.
“What’s happened has happened,” he said. “We’re gonna meet with them (the Israeli leadership). We’re gonna talk about what the future holds,” Rubio said before heading to Israel, where he will stay until Tuesday.
Once there, Rubio visited the Western Wall Jewish prayer site in Jerusalem. He was expected to hold talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Western Wall visit was “reaffirming America’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital,” according to a statement from the State Department.
In late 2017, during his first term as president, Donald Trump formally recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and subsequently moved the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv.
Philippe Lazzarini, commissioner-general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said in a post on X on Sunday that the agency had stopped services at the Beach camp clinic, which he said is the only health care available in the enclave north of Wadi Gaza.
Water and sanitation services are now at half capacity, Lazzarini said, adding that 10 UNRWA buildings have been struck in Gaza City in the past four days.
Abraham Accords At Risk
U.S. officials described Tuesday’s strike against Hamas members in Qatar, a close U.S. ally, as a unilateral escalation that did not serve U.S. or Israeli interests.
Rubio and U.S. President Trump both met Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani on Friday.
Netanyahu signed an agreement on Thursday to push ahead with a settlement expansion plan that would cut across West Bank land that the Palestinians seek for a state, a move the United Arab Emirates warned would undermine the U.S.-brokered Abraham Accords that normalised the UAE’s relations with Israel.
1/2
Aid agencies say an Israeli takeover of Gaza City would be catastrophic for a population already facing widespread malnutrition.
Two more Palestinians have died of malnutrition and starvation in Gaza in the past 24 hours, the territory’s health ministry said on Sunday, raising the death toll from such causes to at least 422 people, including 145 children.
Israel, which blocked all food from entering Gaza for 11 weeks earlier this year, has been allowing more aid into the enclave since late July to prevent further food shortages, though the U.N. says far more is needed.
Evacuation Order
Israel says it wants civilians to leave Gaza City before it sends more ground forces in. Tens of thousands of people are estimated to have left, but hundreds of thousands remain in the area. Hamas has urged people to stay.
Israeli army forces have been operating inside at least four eastern suburbs for weeks, turning most of at least three of them into wastelands. It is closing in on the centre and the western areas of the territory, where most of the displaced people are taking shelter.
Many of those people are reluctant to leave, saying there is not enough space or safety in the south, where Israel has told them to go to what it has designated as a humanitarian zone.
Some say they cannot afford to leave, while others say they were hoping the Arab leaders meeting on Monday in Qatar would pressure Israel to scrap its planned offensive.
“The bombardment intensified everywhere, and we took down the tents, more than twenty families, we do not know where to go,” said Musbah al-Kafarna, who is among the displaced in Gaza City.
Air Strikes Intensified
Israel said it had completed five waves of air strikes on Gaza City over the past week, targeting more than 500 sites, including Hamas reconnaissance and sniper sites, buildings containing tunnel openings and weapons depots.
Local officials, who do not distinguish between militant and civilian casualties, say at least 45 people were killed by Israeli fire across the enclave on Sunday, most of them in Gaza City.
Hamas said Israeli forces have destroyed at least 1,600 residential buildings and 13,000 tents since August 11.
Israel’s nearly two-year-long campaign against Hamas has killed more than 64,000 people in Gaza, according to local authorities.
It was prompted by the group’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, in which 1,200 people were killed and 251 others taken hostage, according to Israeli figures.

Scoop: Congressman wants to use drones to stop assassinations
September 15, 2025
A House Democrat is introducing legislation in response to the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk to have the federal government take steps towards using drones to stop similar incidents, Axios has learned.
Why it matters: The shooting, coming just a year after the attempted assassinations of President Trump, has left lawmakers scrambling for ways to keep high-profile political figures — including themselves — safe.
The Trump shootings led to a push for increased security for Secret Service protectees
But this latest shooting has sparked a broader conversation about and how to protect even those without a government title from political violence.
Driving the news: Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) told Axios in a statement that he plans to introduce a bill this week directing the Department of Homeland Security to study the feasibility of deploying drones to secure public events and prevent assassination attempts.
"Common sense dictates that drone technology should be harnessed to scan every elevated structure with a line of sight to a target," he said.
"If drones can enable the early detection and prevention of assassination attempts, why not use them? Better to have vigilant eyes in the sky than to remain blind to would-be assassins."
Between the lines: Torres has been prolific in introducing security-related legislation after recent high-profile shootings.
After the first Trump assassination attempt last July, Torres and Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) introduced a bill to provide equal Secret Service protection for all presidents and presidential candidates
The bill passed both chambers of Congress and was signed into law by then-President Biden.
Torres also proposed a bill that would have narrowed the Secret Service's mission to focus only on protecting political leaders, rather than also going after financial crimes.

US files to seize nearly $585k in crypto from man accused of selling drone navigation systems to Iran
Sept. 15, 2025
The U.S. government has filed to seize $584,741 in cryptocurrency from Mohammad Abedini, whom it accuses of managing a company that sells navigation systems to the Iranian regime, which it uses for military drones.
The systems were allegedly made specifically for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a U.S.-designated terror group.
Italian law enforcement detained Abedini, of Tehran, on Dec. 16, 2024, but released him in January, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, which said that the 39-year-old is believed to be in Iran.
He is charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization resulting in death and for a scheme to procure sensitive U.S. technology used in military drones.
“In January 2024, three U.S. service members were killed, and more than 40 others were injured, in a drone attack by IRGC-backed militants on a military base located in northern Jordan, known as Tower 22,” the U.S. government said.
Per court documents, an Iranian Shahed drone was recovered with a navigation system manufactured by Abedini’s company.

Did China just shoot down a UFO with a missile? Bright flash over Shandong deepens the mystery after authorities deny knowledge
Last Updated: 14 September, 2025 01:16 PM -7 GMT
A fireball-like luminous event was reported over eastern China on September 12, 2025.
Witnesses in Weifang and Rizhao, Shandong Province, observed a bright aerial object followed by a strong flash, with videos of the incident quickly spreading across Chinese social media platforms.
On September 13, however, the Emergency Management Bureau said that it had not received any information about an interception or shoot-down, and no official explanation of the object’s nature has yet been given, as reported by the outlet.
Social media buzz: UFO or missile test?
As reported by the Taiwanese-origin Chinese-language newspaper World Journal on September 14, multiple internet users in Shandong claimed to have witnessed a “UFO being shot down” in the night sky.
Residents said they heard “two loud bangs, resembling artillery shells,” followed by a luminous object falling after what seemed like an intercept. The reports described a strong flash and a noticeable tremor.
On X people also started commenting on it, some terming it as a Chinese weapon, “finally, weapons being used for the good.”
Some praised China: “If China is really testing planetary defense systems, that’s actually pretty amazing. The world needs more research into asteroid interception.”
What was it, then?
As per the World Journal, some netizens analyzed that the event was likely a missile intercept test.
“The first flying object was likely a simulated target missile, while the second was an interceptor missile,” one analysis read, adding that such tests are often conducted to verify terminal anti-missile technology.
“If it is confirmed to be a missile intercept test, and our terminal anti-missile technology has reached this level, it demonstrates that our air defense system is becoming increasingly sophisticated, providing greater protection against aerial threats and giving us peace of mind,” another user commented.
Others dismissed alien theories, suggesting, “Most UFOs are military test vehicles or civilian equipment. This Shandong incident is clearly more related to human defense activities.”

Camera trap in Chile detects strange lights blazing through the wilderness. Researchers are scrambling to explain them
September 12, 2025
On Jan. 21, at 12:22 a.m. local time, in the silence and darkness of Chile's Patagonia region, a camera trap used to monitor wildlife for a project run by the University of Magallanes (UMAG) captured, in 2 seconds, three photographs showing intense lights moving downward.
Everyone was baffled.
"On a camera located at the edge of a meadow, quite far from any public road and focused on a flat horizon, some lights appeared that we cannot explain," biologist Alejandro Kusch said in a UMAG podcast in August.
"Apparently, these lights, which are initially distant, approach and remain in front of the camera, dazzling it, in a movement that appears to be descending."
Kusch is one of the leaders of the Public Baseline project, which uses 65 camera traps distributed between continental Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, on the southern tip of Chile, to record terrestrial animals, particularly felines.
Since the project began in November 2023, at least 365,000 images and videos have been collected; however, only these three photographs show this phenomenon.
UMAG shared the images with a variety of organizations, from Chile's General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (SEFAA)to the La Serena UFO Museum, and to several people who analyze anomalous aerial phenomena.
Potential explanations ranged from an arachnid coming very close to the camera lens to that of a "plasmoid," a short-lived form of plasma rarely observed in nature that may be behind phenomena such as ball lightning.
However, all specialists agreed: for now, there is no conclusive explanation.
This sighting is unique because it was recorded within the framework of a scientific project, said Rodrigo Bravo, a researcher with the Environmental Studies Group (GEA) at UMAG and a member of the Public Baseline project.
That means there is no possibility of fraud or manipulation, as the camera traps operate under rigorous protocols and are equipped with an infrared system, motion sensor, and other features that would preclude people tampering with them, he argued.
"This is not the first time these phenomena have been described in the area, but it is the first time they have been recorded in this way," Bravo told Live Science.
Bad lights
The local Mapuche people traditionally speak of "bad lights," which they believe are spirits that appear in the fields.
This raises the possibility that the camera traps are finally capturing a phenomenon that has long been recognized in the region.
But even if these strange flashes are the "bad lights" the Mapuche speak of, what are they?
One possibility is that the lights are unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), possibly from a mysterious flying object. Some declassified Pentagon files on UAP show similar characteristics, Bravo added.
Generally poor-quality data means that most UAP sightings cannot be confirmed or explained, but common explanations include foreign spy drones and "airborne clutter" such as birds and weather balloons.
To address that possibility, UMAG sent photos and video to Freddy Alexis, who discusses UFOs and other unknown phenomena on his TV programs on UCVTV, the station of the Catholic University of Valparaíso.
Alexis wrote two reports on his findings, which included trajectory, spectrographic, and relief analyses of the photographs and videos. In the second report, he wrote that only a single "luminous stimulus" is visible, not two, and that the other "lights" are internal lens reflections.
1/2
According to Alexis, the primary light may be a plasmoid, or a bubble of incandescent ionized gas that is confined by Earth's local magnetic field, and that can remain stable for a few seconds.
The most familiar atmospheric example is ball lightning, usually associated with storms. But that is where his explanation hits a wall. "It was summer, with 48 degrees Fahrenheit [8 degrees Celsius], and there were no electrical storms," Alexis told Live Science.
"There were no atmospheric conditions for a storm, so it is very unlikely that ball lightning could have formed."
But more exotic plasmoids have been proposed under special conditions, such as transient, localized changes in Earth's magnetic field.
Still, Alexis noted that there may be other, poorly understood atmospheric plasmoids, similar to the "mysterious lights" of Hessdalen, Norway. Like the Magallanes phenomenon, these lights defy conventional explanations and could involve plasma structures that are still poorly understood.
In one of his reports, Alexis also calculated that, assuming this was a distant, flying object, it would have been moving at a speed of 590 mph (947 km/h), or roughly 0.7 times the speed of sound. Alexis suggested that the lights might not be a flying object, but some plasmoids can move at high speeds, he added.
A strange creature
In a separate report, technicians from La Serena UFO Museum suggested that a spider or moth may have inadvertently tripped the camera's sensor.
That's because in the first photo, what appears to be an insect or arachnid can be seen along one edge of the image. However, the insect does not appear in the subsequent photos.
While one possibility is that the insect triggered the camera, this would only explain why the photo was taken, not why a bright, blob-like light appears, said
Cristian Riffo, director of the La Serena UFO Museum, who was also consulted for the UMAG report.
Riffo noted that the camera traps are designed to minimize false positives caused by insects, lasers or other stimuli. He thinks the rapid sequence of photos, in which the light appears to move toward the camera, is baffling and hard to explain.
"It could be two different phenomena: one natural, which triggered the camera, and the other, a light phenomenon, which remains unexplained," Riffo told Live Science.
Museum researchers analyzed before and after photographs taken by the same camera, during the day and at night, in the presence of wildlife and under different atmospheric conditions, and reviewed the manufacturer's manuals to rule out technical failures.
So far, "they have not found an explanation," Riffo said.
For this reason, researchers from the La Serena UFO Museum are planning to carry out their own on-site fieldwork in the area to collect additional data and analyze other local parameters, such as the terrain, lighting conditions, and environmental factors.
Bravo added that the monitoring project in the area is scheduled to continue for up to 10 more years, and more camera traps are planned, raising hopes that this strange phenomenon may be captured again.
"The scientists involved are eager to know what this was. This is also science: it's about discovering what happens in nature," Bravo said.
Meanwhile, the mystery remains, and so scientists and those interested in anomalous aerial phenomena are working together to understand it.

Former Staff Member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence John Estridge Text Exchange
September 8, 2025
On the morning of September 8th, 2025, I came across a post on X/Twitter. I immediately saw the value of the information and proceeded to share it also.
Additionally, knowing that information like this is all too often scrubbed, and fast, I downloaded it.
Next, I noticed that the original post had the information removed. Because of my own experiences and research, I share the belief that the person in this exchange going by the name of “Sean Weaver”, is actually Jake Barber.
It is concerning to me how many factions are operating “behind the scenes” withholding pertinent information like this while actively colluding to “control the narrative”.
Below is the original text from the original post by Courtney Marchesani:
(The 13-page document is below in downloadable form)
“This is what congress should be investigating.
For the past year, friends and researchers have suggested I hold back on sharing this document, which was sent to me last year before Jake Barber’s NewsNation interview.
Which I have. I’ve sent it to my sister, another UFO researcher, and an attorney.
As you’ll see, a lot of this document can be found word-for-word in the Reddit post about the psionic program and Michael Herrera story posted by Joey.
In Age of Disclosure, Lue spoke about how he received a call. That the caller said something along the lines of
And I’m paraphrasing….
“we can end you and David.”
Here in this document, you’ll see one of “Sean Weaver’s” friends was taken out. Many IC people know about this document as it was being shared with whistleblowers to warn of the risks and corruption in congress.
Regardless of what you make of this text stream, it should be investigated by congress. Several people confirmed “Sean Weaver” is Jake Barber. I requested he contact me through a mutual friend to discuss this document.
I’ve seen a lot of bravery from friends in the UFO community. I’m doing my part.”
Courtney stated that a “Federal Whistleblower” asked her to remove it.
I wonder who that could be???
