Chinese President Xi Jinping has remarked on his 'positive and pragmatic' call with President Trump on Friday mid-morning (US local), saying also that he urged the US administration to avoid restrictive trade measures.

Also of note is that he conveyed to Trump that he respects the wishes of companies as they pursue a finalized agreement on the sale of the US operations of ByteDance, as part of a broader deal rolling back some tariffs and export restrictions, Xinhua writes. But the Chinese side suggests no breakthrough.

Xi stipulated that the TikTok dispute should be resolved via 'market rules', according to state media - again, suggesting he's open to the US plan.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has indicated that negotiators recently reached a framework agreement on the popular social media app's ownership - however key questions remain even as talks appear to near toward a goal line.

Significantly, this is the first time the two have spoken directly since June, amid an ongoing standoff over trade restrictions centered on vital industries such as semiconductors and rare earths.

As for Trump's initial reaction, he quickly posted on Truth social that "progress" was made on trade, Fentanyl, TikTok, and bringing the Russia-Ukraine war to an end.

He went so far as to hail the call as "a very good" one and that "[I] appreciate the TikTok approval."

Weaponized Scoops: New Russiagate Documents Expose Media/Government Collusion

Recently declassified documents indicate that people close to former FBI Director James Comey and Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff were connected to leaks of classified information to prominent reporters designed to portray Donald Trump and his allies as being in league with Russia.

Written in 2017, the FBI documents expose how selected Washington reporters, including Ellen Nakashima of the Washington Post and Michael Schmidt of the New York Times, scored a series of Pulitzer Prize-winning scoops in 2017 by repeating false and inflammatory leaks during President Trump’s first term.  

Much of their reporting has been debunked – and shown to be part of a smear campaign by high-ranking officials to undermine Trump, but the identities of those leakers have remained hidden because of the government’s apparent unwillingness to expose its own and the refusal of reporters to identify the people who misled them and the nation.   

Although the heavily redacted recent disclosures do not specifically identify the suspected leakers, an RCI analysis of the documents strongly suggests that people close to Comey and Schiff, among others, were feeding the reporters information to advance the Russiagate hoax.  

The documents reveal a cascade of misdeeds and failures. These include the effort of government officials to create and leak misleading classified information to favored reporters and the failure of reporters to scrutinize the information they were given before rushing it into print; and the subsequent failure of federal investigators to hold anyone accountable for the breaches of security.  

The documents also detail the incestuous nature of media-government relationships inside the D.C. Beltway. In some cases, spouses and friends of government officials and reporters were used to spread damaging misinformation about Trump, making it difficult for federal investigators to follow the trail of illegal disclosures.

Ex-Biden Aide Jeff Zeints Drops Bombshells in Explosive Testimony on Biden’s Cognitive Decline and Confesses Hunter Was “Directly Involved” in Pardons

The Oversight Committee, chaired by James Comer, opened an investigation into the autopen scandal and subpoenaed several Biden aides for documents and testimony.

Ex-Biden aide Jeff Zeints dropped bombshells during his testimony to the Oversight Committee on Thursday.

Over the summer, the New York Times reported that former White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zeints actually approved pardons for Dr. Fauci and others on January 19:

At the Jan. 19 meeting, which took place in the Yellow Oval Room of the White House residence, Mr. Biden kept his aides until nearly 10 p.m. to talk through such decisions, according to people familiar with the matter.

The emails show that an aide to Mr. Siskel sent a draft summary of Mr. Biden’s decisions at that meeting to an assistant to Mr. Zients, copying Mr. Siskel, at 10:03 p.m. The assistant forwarded it to Mr. Reed and Mr. Zients, asking for their approval, and then sent a final version to Ms. Feldman — copying many meeting participants and aides — at 10:28 p.m.

Three minutes later, Mr. Zients hit “reply all” and wrote, “I approve the use of the autopen for the execution of all of the following pardons.”

According to The New York Post, Zeints testified on Thursday that he called for a post-debate cognitive test and said Joe Biden’s memory got worse in office.

Zeints also told congressional investigators that Hunter Biden was “directly involved” in pardons!

““Toward the end of the Biden administration, Hunter Biden was involved with the pardon discussions and attended a few meetings,” the source revealed of Zients’ comments, confirming prior reports about how much influence the first son exerted amid a firearms felony conviction and pleading guilty to tax evasion,” the New York Post reported.

An American cancer patient and Trump supporter was confronted by British police and told to apologise for her online posts or face an investigation.

Deborah Anderson, a mother of two, was visited at her home in June by an officer from Thames Valley Police. He told her someone had lodged a complaint about her social media posts. She told him she was an American citizen and a member of the Free Speech Union and he should be investigating burglaries and rapes, not hurty words on social media.

Chillingly, he told her he was there to get her to apologise to the person who was offended by her posts. If she refused, she’d be questioned down at the station.

What was Deborah’s supposed crime? The policeman didn’t tell her. Was it her passionate support of President Trump and the MAGA movement on her Facebook and X pages?

To make it worse, Deborah is in the midst of cancer treatment, including chemotherapy. She ought to be have been convalescing. Instead, she was harassed for her tweets.

The FSU took on her case and, as a result, the police have now dropped their investigation. But they still haven’t told Deborah which of her posts got her into trouble, claiming they’ve accidentally deleted the record of the complaint.

Thames Valley Police are responsible for guarding President Trump this week. What would he make of the fact that those same officers are visiting the homes of his supporters – including US citizens – and threatening them with arrest.

'Largest NEH Grant in History' Awarded to Jewish Org to Counter 'Pathology of Antisemitism,' Teach Talmud

The Trump administration, through the National Endowment for the Humanities, is giving the largest grant in the agency's history over $10 million to the Jewish-American neoconservative Tikvah Fund to counter "the pathology of anti-Semitism" and teach the Talmud.

The Tikvah Fund is an Israel First group dedicated to advancing "Jewish excellence" that is run by CEO Eric Cohen and famed neoconservative Elliott Abrams.

The group made headlines last month for contributing "nearly 400,000 shekels (around $110,000)" to translate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's book into Hebrew and not reporting it as a political donation, Haaretz reported last month.

"Even though the memoir was used in the Likud campaign and some of the revenues presumably went to Netanyahu as the author, the 400,000 shekels was not reported as a political donation," Haaretz noted.

The Tikvah Fund was founded in the 1990s. The roughly $15 million to $20 million it spends on annual operations are partly funded by donations and from returns on assets bequeathed by American Jewish businessman Zalman Bernstein.

The Tikvah Fund is among the funders of the Kohelet Policy Forum, a conservative Israeli think tank that provided the blueprint for the effort to weaken the judiciary, as declared by Justice Minister Yariv Levin on January 4, 2023.

Kohelet founder Moshe Koppel sits on Tikvah's board. The fund has bankrolled conservative projects for years, some of them involving close associates of Netanyahu. These include the Mida website, founded by Netanyahu confidant Ran Baratz, and the Misgav Institute for National Security and Zionist Strategy, which is chaired by the former head of the National Security Council, Meir Ben-Shabbat. Haaretz noted that Tikvah also hosts an annual conference in Tel Aviv.

"In its 60-year history, NEH had rarely given more than a few hundred thousand dollars to any single project," the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports. "On Monday, the NEH announced an even larger, $10.4 million grant for a nationwide 'Jewish Civilization Project' aimed at combating antisemitism."
