Netanyahu Touts Regime Change Across The Middle East In UN Speech, Thanks America

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his Friday speech before the UN General Assembly spent a lot of time hailing and thanking President Trump and the US for bombing Iran's nuclear facilities last June. But at the same time he lashed out at the leaders of France, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, and other countries for "unconditionally" recognizing a Palestinian state.

He declared that Israel is intent of finishing the job regardless, saying "Victory over Hamas will make peace possible with nations throughout the Arab and Muslim world." He continued, "Our victory would lead to a dramatic extension and expansion of the historic Abraham Accords, which President Trump brokered between Arab leaders and myself five years ago."

But that's not quite accurate, as the raging Gaza war and especially the Israeli strike on Doha which targeted Hamas negotiators have actually eroded regional trust in the Abraham Accords. Saudi Arabia has definitely put its normalization path on pause.

"I want to thank President Trump for his bold and decisive action," the Israeli leader told the assembly. "President Trump and I promised to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. And we delivered on that promise."

Palestinian officials who were present, along with many other officials, actually walked out near the start of Netanyahu's speech.

Interestingly, Netanyahu's speech and visual prop and map he held up at one point seemed a review of all the regime changes in the Middle East. "We removed an existential threat to Iran, to Israel, rather, and a mortal threat to the civilized world. We lifted a dark cloud that could have claimed millions and millions of lives. But, ladies and gentlemen, we must remain vigilant," he said.

Syria was also overthrown, and Lebanon's Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah assassinated last year. Recall too that Netanyahu was key in arguing that the Bush administration must invade Iraq and overthrow Saddam Hussein.

"We must not allow Iran to rebuild its military nuclear capacities. Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium. These stockpiles must be eliminated," we added, saying that Trump more than any other leader understood this "common threat". This suggests Israel could be gearing up for more military action against the Islamic Republic.

"They [the leaders] did so after the horrors committed by Hamas on Oct. 7," Netanyahu said. "Horrors praised on that day by nearly 90% of the Palestinian population.

"Let me say that again. Nearly 90% of Palestinians supported the attack on Oct. 7. It's not supported only. They celebrated it. They danced on the rooftops. They threw candies. That's both in Gaza and in Judea, Samaria – the West Bank, as you call it."

He went on: "And it's just the way they celebrated another horror. 9/11 they danced on the rooftops. They cheered. They threw candy."

‘Hybrid Attack’: European Airports Again Shut By Second Night of Mystery Drones

Half a dozen European airports have been shuttered this week over the appearance of mystery drones, with the Danish government calling it a “hybrid attack” — the usual signal implying Moscow involvement — while also acknowledging they have no evidence Russia is involved.

Four airports — two of them with military airbases which include the home of Denmark’s whole inventory of F-16 fighters — were shut down for hours at a time on Wednesday night by the simultaneous appearance of mystery drones in their airspace, representatives of the Danish government said in a press conference on Thursday morning. It is the second time European airports have been “attacked” in this way this way this week, with major airports in Denmark and Norway also shut down by drone sightings on Monday.

The Danish government is coming under heavy criticism from opposition parties given Wednesday night’s incident came so soon after the last, and yet the country was still not in a position to adequately track, intercept, or shoot down the drones when they arrived. The Ministry of Defence has said they could have shot down the drones that approached its military bases if it wanted to, but they made the determination that it would be safer for civilians not to suddenly start engaging in anti-air warfare in built up areas.

Nevertheless the national police chief in his comments on Thursday morning underlined just how little the government knows about what happened and why. Top cop Thorkild Fogde said there was no “smoking gun” at the scene that revealed the perpetrator, but said the fact that drones appeared simultaneously at military and civilian facilities betrayed a “pattern” pointing to a “hybrid” warfare style “attack”.

The officer said: “We are not yet able to identify who is behind this, we are also not able to say exactly where the drones came from and whether they were launched in or outside Denmark, and we are also not able to say exactly where they disappeared to.”

Denmark’s Justice Minister also called it a hybrid attack, a phrase generally used in Europe exclusively in relation to the Russian Federation and its campaign of sub-military, but acknowledged that with no evidence whatsoever to hand, they were keeping all options open for the investigation. They said: “The goal of these kinds of hybrid attacks is to create fear, create division and make us afraid”.

The nation’s defence minister also used that language, and said it had the hallmarks of being a professional and “systemic” operation. He said the incidents in recent days are not simply the world of a member of the public flying a toy-store drone. Russia, for what it is worth, has denied involvement.

Disgraced Sydney business tycoon Ron Brierley unfit for trial, lawyers say

Disgraced business tycoon Ron Brierley is unfit to plead or be tried on charges of possessing child abuse material due to deteriorating cognitive function, a Sydney court has been told.

The 88-year-old was charged in March with three counts of the offence, about three years after an appeals court overturned a previous jail term for similar offending because of his ill-health and conditions in custody.

Brierley was handed that sentence after he was stopped at Sydney Airport in 2019 and eventually pleaded guilty.

When authorities examined his devices, they found child abuse material, and Brierley initially said he had downloaded it for recreation because it "looked interesting".

They found more material on other devices in his Point Piper home, ultimately determining there were more than 46,000 images, with significant duplication.

A judge rejected his suggestion that he thought the material was legal.

About six months after the more recent charges were laid, Brierley's lawyers today made an unopposed application in Waverley Local Court to have the case either permanently stayed or diverted under mental health legislation.

"The evidence suggests clearly that Mr Brierley is not fit to enter a plea," his counsel Phillip Boulten SC told the magistrate.

Mr Boulten said Brierley was also "not really fit" to give instructions about making the mental health-related application.

'There would not be proper justice if this case continued'

The court heard the evidence "all points one way", with three doctors unanimously determining Brierley is unfit to be tried due to a moderate form of vascular dementia.

Obama Foundation sent millions to Tides network tied to far-left groups

Tides, which is also heavily funded by Dem donor George Soros, has been flagged by the House Ways and Means Committee for sponsoring groups like the Adalah Justice Project, Samidoun, and the People’s Forum.

The Obama Foundation has funneled millions of dollars to a progressive grant-making network now under congressional scrutiny for backing anti-Israel groups linked to campus protests, according to newly released tax filings.

Federal records show that in 2022 and 2023, the foundation directed $2 million to the Tides Foundation, money earmarked to “support local organizations that are working to reduce violence in communities.” But Tides, which is also heavily funded by Democratic donor George Soros, has been flagged by the House Ways and Means Committee for sponsoring groups like the Adalah Justice Project, Samidoun, an the People’s Forum—all of which have supported pro-Palestinian encampments at Ivy League schools following the October 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel.

Tides has faced its own legal troubles. Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation sued the group in California last year, accusing it of mismanaging more than $33 million. That case is still pending, according to the New York Post.

The Obama Foundation’s filings also show it sent more than $3 million during the same period to GoFundMe.org for undisclosed programs described as helping “grassroots leaders to empower girls through education.”

Meanwhile, costs continue to climb for the foundation’s flagship project, the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago’s Jackson Park. Construction of the 19-acre complex began in 2021 and is now slated to open in 2026, with expenses surpassing $615 million—well over its original $500 million budget.

The foundation has also drawn attention for its internal spending. In 2022, it reported just $129,000 in outside donations but spent more than $27 million on salaries. Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s longtime adviser and the foundation’s CEO, was paid more than $750,000 in 2023.

The presidential center, still rising from Chicago’s South Side, will feature a museum, athletic facilities, and gardens.
