Food manufacturers would hate this because now their packages risk spoiling faster and thus causing loss of profit.

You want something more aggressive than that. something that can contaminate plastic on its own in the wild and spread spontaneously. Compare it to how meat or wet wood gets contaminated by fungus/bacteria.

I'm saying we need to play the game the deep state plays and develop our own fungus/bacteria. With modern gene sequencing, artificial selection in labs and AI we could make this fungus.

 

Question is only: what would happen if the entire world suddenly no longer could rely on plastic shielding the food?
