YouTube Agrees to Pay President Trump $24.5 Million Settlement Over 2021 Suspension of His Account

YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle a 2021 lawsuit that President Trump brought against the company and its chief executive over its suspension of Trump’s account after that year’s riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to court papers.

The settlement makes YouTube, which is owned by Alphabet’s Google, the final Big Tech company to settle a trio of lawsuits Trump brought against social-media platforms in the months after he left the White House. Meta Platforms agreed in January to pay $25 million, most of it to a fund for Trump’s presidential library, and X agreed to pay $10 million, much of it going directly to Trump, The Wall Street Journal previously reported.

Google executives were eager to keep their settlement smaller than the one paid by rival Meta, according to people familiar with the matter. Trump’s share of the settlement—$22 million—will go to the nonprofit Trust for the National Mall, earmarked for the construction of a Mar-a-Lago-style ballroom Trump is building at the White House, according to the court documents. The White House has said the ballroom, expected to cost $200 million, would be funded by donations from Trump and “other patriot donors.”

A further $2.5 million will go to the other plaintiffs on the case, a group that includes the American Conservative Union and writer Naomi Wolf. The settlement doesn’t mention attorney fees.

Dutch Cargo Ship Attacked, Set Ablaze Off Yemen Coast

Reports from earlier today indicate a Netherlands-flagged cargo ship is on fire in the Gulf of Aden near Yemen, after being struck by an unidentified projectile launched by the Houthis.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations has cited that "a vessel reported seeing a splash and smoke in the distance" and it's as yet "unclear how severe the blaze was" - according to Bloomberg. The ship's Amsterdam-based operator stated Monday, "Earlier today its general cargo vessel Minervagracht that was on passage in the Gulf of Aden, in international waters, has come under attack of an unidentified explosive device, inflicting substantial damage to the ship."

"Security company Ambrey said the ship targeted on Monday was previously attacked on Sept. 23 when a French naval group reported an incident involving the Netherlands-flagged Minervagracht," Bloomberg says further. "It’s a relatively small cargo vessel built in 2011 which can hold about 700 containers."

Despite several rounds of attacks by Israeli jets in the past months, the Iran-aligned Houthis have remained undeterred in targeting any vessel deemed to have Israeli links, or bound for an Israeli port.

A Western warship is said to be heading to the scene of the distressed cargo ship to assess to the situation, and possibly commence with rescues.

The Amsterdam-based firm Spliethoff is the owner of the vessel. Additionally, the Joint Maritime Information Center, overseen by the US Navy, has said that the shipper had "no Israeli affiliations" - so this suggests the Houthis could be returning to a stance of willingness to attack any and all foreign vessels traversing the waters.

The Houthis have by and large respected the months-long US ceasefire declared by President Trump, but have said they have committed to continuing attacks on any Israeli-linked or Israel-bound vessel traversing the Red Sea.

As the US Navy stepped back from regional operations, Washington has pressured the Europeans to step up defense of the vital trade transit waters.

‘A disgrace’: MKs slam Netanyahu apology to Qatari PM on Doha strike

Ben-Gvir, Smotrich, Liberman, and Golan condemned Netanyahu for apologizing to Qatar over the Hamas strike, calling it weak and a “disgrace.”

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated, “The strike on senior Hamas officials, the masterminds of the October 7 massacre, in the enemy state of Qatar was an important, just, and profoundly moral strike.

“It is very good that it happened. Whoever sends monsters to burn babies, rape women, and abduct elderly women must know that there is no place in the world that is safe for them,” Ben-Gvir added.

“It is time to tell the world the truth: Qatar is a state that supports terror, funds terror, and incites terror. No amount of money will wash the terror from its hands.”

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said, “A groveling apology to a state that supports and funds terror is a disgrace.”His statement comes after he had laid out “redlines” to Netanyahu ahead of the meeting with Trump.

Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman commented, “It is unbelievable that Netanyahu apologized to Qatar, which, to this day, has not condemned the October 7 massacre, yet he has never apologized to the people of Israel for the fact that during his tenure, thousands of Israelis were murdered, raped, and abducted.”

"Netanyahu should not apologize to the citizens of Qatar, but to the citizens of Israel," Opposition leader Yair Lapid wrote in his own post to X/Twitter following Nentayahu's apology. "For October 7, for the political devastation, for the attempt to promote the draft evasion law during wartime, for the establishment of the most extreme and destructive government in the state's history."

The Democrats head Yair Golan also slammed Netanyahu for not apologizing for the events of October 7. “Netanyahu is weak and compromised. He was, and remains, a full collaborator with Hamas and Qatar,” he added.

“And for that he will never be forgiven – not this Yom Kippur and not in a hundred Yom Kippurs,” Golan also stated.During the call, Netanyahu told the Qatari prime minister, “I want you to know that Israel regrets that one of your citizens was killed in our strike,” the Prime Minister’s Office shared.

“I want to assure you that Israel was targeting Hamas, not Qataris.”

Netanyahu added, “I also want to assure you that Israel has no plan to violate your sovereignty again in the future, and I have made that commitment to the president.”

Zionists Call for 'Massive Investment' in Info War at JNS Conference

The Netanyahu-aligned Jewish News Syndicate issued a call for "massive investment" in the "information battlefield" at their "Visionary Leadership Assembly" in New York City on Sunday.

The conference was packed with Trump administration officials and headlined by Fox News host Mark Levin.

What stood out to me from watching the entire three-hour event is that the Israel/Jewish Lobby is planning to not only take over TikTok, CBS News and potentially CNN, but they'll likely be dumping billions of dollars into hasbara in the coming years.

They're counting on everyone going back to sleep once their wars are over and Israel is out of the headlines (and that may take some time, as they're actively planning for another war with Iran).

If the Lobby's opponents become complacent and social media censorship creeps back, it's possible they'll stem the tide. That said, the Lobby is in a bind right now and it's also possible, perhaps even probable, that current trends will not only continue but get even worse for them.

Below are highlights from the event:

Jewish News Syndicate CEO Alex Traiman, after not-so-tacitly threatening that Israel has nukes to serve as a "deterrent," calls for wealthy Zionists to make a "massive investment into the information battlefield."

"This is an arena we can and must win."

"We must take all of our technological expertise and all of our available resources to develop methods to launch and win a significant counter-information campaign."

"The Jewish story is a long one—we can, and will, win back public opinion."

Martin Marks, the official White House liaison to the Jewish community, tells JNS conference that there's "a commitment" in the White House "behind the scenes" to "combating anti-Semitism, to standing with Israel, and to standing with the Jewish people."

Marks says Pres. Trump is not only "one of the greatest friends of Israel that has been in the White House" but also "one of the greatest friends of the Jewish people since Darius the Great."

Jewish students were able to "sue" universities under Title VI thanks to Trump's executive order on anti-Semitism, Marks boasts while standing in front of an Israeli flag.

Trump Forced the Gaza Peace Plan on Netanyahu. But a Lot Could Still Go Wrong

A forced apology in the first act, a 20-point plan very light on specifics - and the hovering feeling that Netanyahu will get yet another chance to prolong the Gaza war

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday finally unveiled his much-anticipated 20-point plan to end the Gaza war, punctuated by a rambling joint appearance with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that attempted to demonstrate this is now officially the president's purview.

For the past two years, senior U.S. officials in both the Biden and Trump administrations have long privately lamented - though public candor has recently increased - that Netanyahu has disproportionately dictated the terms of the U.S.-Israel relationship and the Gaza war. This also affected the more ambitious American efforts to advance Middle East peace.

With Trump flanked by a subservient and compliant Netanyahu, ever eager to get on Trump's good side, the U.S. president made clear that Netanyahu's runway for running circles around the White House is rapidly shrinking.

This started with a phone call between Trump, Netanyahu and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, where the Israeli prime minister was forced to apologize hat-in-hand like a student in trouble at the principal's office.

The act in itself served as humiliating enough for Netanyahu amongst his far-right allies in Israel, with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich unfavorably comparing him to Neville Chamberlain appeasing Nazi Germany.

Despite the blow to Netanyahu's domestic standing, his forced apology further represents how much of an own-goal the strikes on Hamas leadership proved to be. His vow to not strike Qatar in the future, yet again at the behest of Trump, only guarantees Hamas leadership continued security despite all his recent bluster of hunting them down no matter where they may be.

Madagascar's President Andry Rajoelina dissolves government following deadly youth-led protests

Madagascan President Andry Rajoelina says he is dissolving the government following youth-led protests over water and power cuts in which the United Nations says at least 22 people have been killed and more than 100 injured.

On Monday, protesters gathered at a university where they waved placards and sang the national anthem before attempting to march towards the city centre, footage from 2424.MG news channel showed.

Many in the crowd called for the resignation of President Andry Rajoelina, Prime Minister Christian Ntsay and his government.

Inspired by the so-called "gen-Z" protests in Kenya and Nepal, the three days of demonstrations are the largest the Indian Ocean island has seen in years, and the most serious challenge Mr Rajoelina has faced since his re-election in 2023.

The protesters have adapted a flag used in Nepal, where protesters forced the prime minister to resign this month, and have also used similar online organisation tactics as protests in Kenya last year, which culminated in the government scrapping proposed tax legislation.

"We acknowledge and apologise if members of the government have not carried out the tasks assigned to them," Mr Rajoelina said in a speech on state broadcaster Televiziona Malagasy (TVM).

"I understand the anger, the sadness, and the difficulties caused by power cuts and water supply problems. I heard the call, I felt the suffering, I understood the impact on daily life," Mr Rajoelina said.

The president said he wanted to create space for dialogue with young people, and promised measures to support businesses affected by looting.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said the casualties included protesters and bystanders killed by members of the security forces, but also others killed in subsequent widespread violence and looting by individuals and gangs not associated with the protesters.

Madagascar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the casualty figures reported by the UN, saying the data did not come from competent national authorities "and are based on rumours or misinformation."

Mr Rajoelina first came to power in a 2009 coup. He stepped down in 2014 but became president again after winning the 2018 election.

He secured a third term in a December 2023 poll his challengers said was marred by irregularities.

Queensland's former top bureaucrat Mike Kaiser paid almost $400,000 in 'termination benefits'

Queensland's former top bureaucrat has been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in termination benefits after he was replaced by the LNP when the party came to office.

Mike Kaiser served as the director-general of the Department of Premier and Cabinet for roughly 10 months under former premier Steven Miles.

New figures released in the department's annual report reveal Mr Kaiser was paid "termination benefits" of $397,000 in the 2024-25 financial year.

The LNP was highly critical of Mr Kaiser's appointment to Queensland's top public service job ahead of last October's state election.

Before he was made boss of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Mr Kaiser headed up other state government departments.

He also previously briefly represented the electorate of Woodridge as a Labor MP in the early 2000s and was Labor's state secretary in the 1990s.

He has since been appointed secretary of the federal government's Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

His former role of director-general of the Department of Premier and Cabinet has been permanently filled by Damien Walker.

Mr Walker earned a total salary of $440,000 from his appointment on December 23 last year through to June 30 this year.

“I Think We’re Headed to a Shutdown” – Vance SLAMS Schumer, Democrats For Trying to Hold Americans Hostage to Fund Healthcare for Illegal Aliens

Chuck Schumer says he tried to guilt-trip President Trump in the Oval Office, bringing up a child with cancer while demanding Trump back his spending plan that funds illegal alien healthcare and trans surgeries for kids.

"I told him how I met a mother who was crying because her daughter has cancer…and what they have done, she's gonna watch her suffer and maybe die. And he seemed to understand the magnitude of this crisis."

ILLEGAL ALIENS on healthcare is NOT bipartisan, Chuck!

You should be ASHAMED for trying to pin a child suffering cancer on Republicans!

Israeli agent Rabbi Pesach Wolicki, who gave Charlie Kirk hasbara coaching "basically daily" for six months up to the night before his death, insists he was not Kirk's "Mossad handler."

He says he just "worked with Charlie" to "formulate positions" he'd "be comfortable with."

"[Kirk] believed in the open marketplace of ideas, which is why he annoyed people like you and me by platforming Tucker Carlson and whoever else," he tells Ari Hoffman.

"For Charlie, the idea that you're supposed to silence any opinion was anathema, but that came from a place of truth-seeking. Do I think he went too far with it? Well, yes."
