The federal government has issued new guidance on the Trump administration’s $100,000 H-1B visa fee, outlining payment procedures, eligibility, and limited exemptions under a policy aimed at discouraging the replacement of U.S.-citizen workers with cheaper foreign labor and driving down wages for Americans.

The guidance, published by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Oct. 20, marks the first formal implementation document following Trump’s Sept. 19 proclamation establishing the one-time $100,000 fee for new H-1B visa applications.

Trump said in his proclamation that the measure is designed to curb “systemic abuse” of the high-skilled visa system and protect U.S. workers—especially in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.

The president alleged that many companies were exploiting existing rules by laying off their U.S.-citizen workforce and replacing them with cheaper H-1B workers. When announcing the changes, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that their aim was to encourage companies to hire American citizens.

The government of leftist Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney dropped tariffs on American and Chinese imports of steel and aluminum, Reuters reported on Monday — the latest in a string of measures favorable to American commerce in the country.

Carney’s Liberal Party won the general election in the country in April on a promise to aggressively confront President Donald Trump’s tariff policy, which the American leader intended to use to renegotiate the trade relationships America has built with its economic partners. Canada was largely exempt from Trump’s tariffs due to its participation in the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement, but that did not stop Carney from declaring that Canada would end its longstanding friendly ties to America and decisively force Trump to drop tariffs.

Pearson International Airport recently asked that Canada’s Secure Air Travel Regulations be amended to allow 'digital ID to be recognized,' paving the way for biometrics to be used.

Canadian airport officials asked the federal government to implement a digital ID for domestic travelers as an option in the name of “modernization.”

Currently, domestic travelers are only required to use physical identification for air travel, including a driver’s license, passport, or government-issued ID card.

However, Toronto’s Pearson International Airport recently recommended that Canada’s Secure Air Travel Regulations be amended to allow for “digital ID to be recognized.”

“To modernize and support enhanced passenger experience, we ask that the government endorse system-wide border and screening modernization including immediate regulatory changes,” Pearson representatives told Canada’s House of Commons finance committee in a recent submission.

Airport managers wrote that “Canada should proactively embrace both emerging and proven technologies that have the potential to enhance the passenger experience and improve operational efficiency and promote productivity across the sector.”

“Key initiatives should include accelerating the adoption of a common digital ID for both domestic and international travel.”

The Canadian Airports Council also told Parliament that a national digital ID program should start with airport travelers, including the introduction of “biometrics.” Continue…

An Auckland man’s death from drinking liquid meth camouflaged as Canadian beer, is highlighting Canada’s role in fueling a surge in meth use in New Zealand.

A young man died in agony after drinking an imported can of Canadian Honey Bear Beer that had been filled with methamphetamine.

Aiden Sagala, 21, was unknowingly gifted a case of liquid narcotics disguised as beer from his boss Himatjit ‘Jimmy’ Singh Kahlon on March 2, 2023.

After he got home from work, Sagala and his brother-in-law Billy Anelusi decided to crack open two of the cans.

Sagala knew something was wrong after his first sip of the beer, which reportedly tasted like ‘sea salt with chemicals,’ according to an CTV News investigative report.

Anelusi, who claimed his beer tasted normal, swapped drinks with Sagala and gave it a taste, immediately spitting it out without swallowing.

Anelusi did not feel any effects but Sagala quickly fell ill. He became aggressive, agitated and repeatedly screamed out ‘I want my mom, I’m dying,’ the outlet reported.

Sagala’s face turned blue and his sister performed CPR on him. She called 911 but it took paramedics an hour to arrive.

He was transported to a nearby hospital in Auckland, but became comatose and died five days later. The medical examiner determined he died of organ failure caused by a meth overdose.

Police determined the can of beer that Sagala had consumed contained no alcohol at all and was actually pure liquid methamphetamine, prompting a massive two-year investigation that has now resulted in a $200million drug bust.

The raid also unveiled buckets of crystal meth. Police believed the imported liquid meth was being crystalized in the facility and then prepped for sale Continue…
