Sask. Premier Scott Moe stands his ground amid federal firearm 'buyback' pressure

https://www.rebelnews.com/sask_premier_scott_moe_stands_his_ground_amid_federal_firearm_buyback_pressure

"No one will be out taking firearms in Saskatchewan that have been deemed illegal by the federal government," the premier stated firmly.

On Tuesday's live stream, Sheila Gunn Reid and Lise Merle discussed Scott Moe's opposition to the federal government enforcing its gun 'buyback' program in Saskatchewan.

Speaking on the Evan Bray Show one week ago, Moe reacted to the Liberal government's controversial gun 'buyback' project. The premier made it clear that federal agents will not be confiscating firearms from law-abiding owners in Saskatchewan.

"You won't have them taken in Saskatchewan because you would need a provincial licence to go out and gather up guns and that is currently an unfunded department, that licencing department in the province," Moe explained.

"No one will be out taking firearms in Saskatchewan that have been deemed illegal by the federal government," the premier continued.

"Nobody's licenced in the province, nor will they be in the foreseeable future to come and gather up in any mass way people's firearms," added Moe.

The program appears to have been a significant failure so far, with only 30 firearms seized from individual owners during a recent pilot project in Cape Breton, N.S.

The premier also said that he will ensure lawful gun owners who wish to return their firearms to the federal government receive sufficient compensation.

Lise applauded Moe for standing up to federal overreach from the Liberal government. "Scott Moe has done a really good job of building walls between the people of Saskatchewan and the overreach of Ontario," she said.

"And in this capacity, for private ownership, whether it be property or guns or whatever, Scott Moe is really, really on the ball," continued Lise.

"I wish that he would build more walls between Saskatchewan and Ottawa, especially as it pertains to our education sector and out natural resource sector. But in this case, he got it all right," she said.

WATCH: Canada Under Siege by Brookfield, Carney, and China

https://www.rebelnews.com/canada_under_siege_by_brookfield_carney_and_china

Brookfield has significant Canadian involvement, often benefiting from government ties, including over $3 billion in China-linked real estate and energy investments. Continue…

Brookfield's extensive and questionable investments, particularly those linked to China and its state-backed entities, have raised significant concerns regarding potential conflicts of interest for figures like Mark Carney.

The House of Commons voted yesterday to summon Brookfield's CEO and Carney's chief of staff to testify about these alleged conflicts, his ethics, and offshore wealth.

Recent revelations have highlighted Brookfield's deep involvement across Canada, often leveraging government relationships for its benefit. This includes over $3 billion in China-linked real estate and energy investments, some made after 2015.

Notably, a key Hong Kong investor involved in Brookfield's projects was part of China's political consultative conference, an entity the CIA identifies as being involved in Beijing's global United Front networks—a mechanism for the Chinese Communist Party to engage influential individuals.

Carney's travels to China to meet with senior Communist Party officials while the Bank of China aided Brookfield's real estate investments, amid China's severe real estate downturn, raises concerns that Brookfield's investments may have bailed out the Chinese government.

Moreover, Carney is alleged to have met with United Front-affiliated individuals on Canadian soil, specifically in areas where disinformation campaigns linked to the CCP targeted Conservative MP Kenny Chu during the 2019 and 2021 elections. These meetings, initially denied by Carney, further question his judgment and alignment with Canadian interests.

The central question remains whether Carney's actions prioritize the well-being of Canadians or the economic interests of Brookfield and its shareholders. This is particularly relevant when considering Canada's natural resources, such as Saskatchewan's uranium deposits, where Brookfield could profit at Canada's expense.

Increased scrutiny and a potential moratorium on business with Brookfield are warranted due to its questionable dealings. Carney's alleged actions—stifling Canadian energy while boosting American energy via Brookfield—suggest he prioritized corporate profit over national interest.

Taxpayers on the hook for $158 billion 'green jobs' experiment

https://www.rebelnews.com/taxpayers_on_the_hook_for_158_billion_green_jobs_experiment

The entire “green” workforce is estimated at around 68,000 jobs, a drop in the bucket in a country of 40 million people.

A new pair of studies from the Fraser Institute reveal that Canadian governments have poured at least $158 billion into so-called “low-carbon” initiatives since 2014 — yet those billions have produced, at most, 68,000 so-called clean-economy jobs.

The reports, The Fiscal Cost of Canada’s Low-Carbon Economy and Sizing Canada’s Clean Economy, expose what they call a decade-long spending spree by Ottawa and the four largest provinces (Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and B.C.) on “green transition” subsidies, tax credits, and incentives.

Billions Spent, Little to Show

Federal and provincial governments have combined for $143.6 billion in spending and tax credits between 2014-15 and 2024-25, rising to $158 billion after adjusting for inflation. Ottawa’s portion alone has exploded from $600 million in 2014–15 to more than $23 billion this year, a 38-fold increase driven by electric-vehicle subsidies, green infrastructure programs, and climate rebates.

The study notes that even these staggering totals are conservative estimates, excluding indirect costs such as bureaucratic staffing, regulatory burdens, and infrastructure financing tied to the “clean transition.”

A Tiny Slice of the Economy

Meanwhile, the companion report finds that despite the mountain of public spending, Canada’s “clean economy” still accounts for only 3 to 3.6 percent of national GDP and has grown no faster than the rest of the economy since 2014.

In 2023, all environmental and clean-tech industries combined produced $144.6 billion in output, most of which came from traditional sectors such as waste management, construction, and hydroelectric power, rather than flashy new renewable-energy startups.

The entire “green” workforce is estimated at around 68,000 jobs, a drop in the bucket in a country of 40 million people.

Policy Failure Dressed Up as Progress

The researchers conclude that massive subsidies haven’t delivered meaningful economic transformation.

“The clean-tech sector is not about to replace the industries that actually underpin Canada’s prosperity,” the report warns, urging governments to scale back taxpayer-funded intervention and focus instead on productivity and competitiveness.

Even after years of “climate action plans,” “roadmaps,” and “net-zero” rhetoric, the clean-economy share of GDP remains flat — proof, say the authors, that politicians have been buying headlines, not results.

After a decade of green spending blowouts, taxpayers are left with a $158 billion bill and little measurable return, a costly reminder that political virtue-signalling doesn’t make an economy grow, it just makes governments bigger.

Carney’s 'values' at work: Ottawa pays consultants to audit gender and climate in Chad

https://www.rebelnews.com/carney_s_values_at_work_ottawa_pays_consultants_to_audit_gender_and_climate_in_chad

While families here squeeze a few more kilometres out of bald tires, the government is busy giving contracts to insiders to audit gender metrics in the Sahel.

While Canadians juggle grocery bills, housing shortages, crime waves, and ER wait times, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s cabinet found $63,900 for a consultant to monitor gender-equality and climate projects in Chad.

The Project Monitor in Gender Equality and Climate Change Resilience gig was awarded Sept. 8, 2025 and finalized on Oct. 30, 2025, following a posting for applicants in May.

The contract goes to Canadian Leaders in International Consulting Inc. (CLIC)—run by Mazen Chouaib, the firm’s founder, President & CEO. The monitor will keep tabs on two NGO-run projects Ottawa funds in Chad aimed at “women’s resilience” and “agropastoral adaptation.” (Yes, more layers of oversight for the layers of aid.)

Who is Chouaib?

Chouaib previously served as Executive Director of the National Council on Canada-Arab Relations and has testified before House of Commons committees on Middle East files. In his bio for CLIC, he claims to have "deep insight and strong contextual and operational expertise in the Middle East North Africa region as a result of running missions for the Government of Canada."

In other words: long-time Ottawa foreign-policy insider, not a newbie to government money or microphones.

;;;Priorities, priorities;;;

So while families here squeeze a few more kilometres out of bald tires, the government is busy giving contracts to insiders to audit gender metrics in the Sahel. It’s classic “Green Reset” Canada: all virtue, no value—unless you’re a consultant.

Carney’s new budget earmarks millions for protection of LGBT communities

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/carneys-new-budget-earmarks-millions-for-protection-of-lgbt-communities/

Approximately $10.9 million of Canada's budget will go 'to support 2SLGBTQI+ communities' with $7.5 million over five years for 'Pride Security.'

Even though Canada is more than a trillion dollars in debt, Prime Minister Mark Carney boldly proclaimed that his Liberal government’s upcoming 2025 budget will include millions more in taxpayer money for “SLGBTQI+ communities” and “gender” equality and “pride” safety.

“To build Canada strong, we have to protect and empower each other. Budget 2025 will ensure organisations that address gender-based violence, protect 2SLGBTQI+ communities, and empower women in leadership roles, have the funding they need to continue their vital work,” Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms president John Carpay wrote in a X post on Wednesday. Canadian surrogacy group offers women up to $25k to carry babies for ‘LGBTQ+ couples’

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/canadian-surrogacy-group-offers-women-up-to-25k-to-carry-babies-for-lgbtq-couples/

A surrogacy agency is offering women reimbursements to carry babies for LGBT couples amid growing concerns over commodification, coercion, and exploitation of surrogates.

A Canadian surrogacy group is offering women up to $25,000 in “reimbursements” to carry babies for LGBT couples.

In an October Facebook ad, Canadian Fertility Consulting promised women up to $25,000 to be a surrogate for an LGBT couple, seemingly confirming concerns that surrogacy reduces human life to a consumer transaction.

“Become a surrogate and create a lasting impact on someone’s life,” the advertisement read. “You’ll receive up to $25,000 and the immense joy of helping couples who can’t conceive realize their dream of having a family.”

“Be A Surrogate For LGBTQ+ Couples,” a link to the group’s website under the ad read.

On its website, Canadian Fertility Consulting promised that surrogates “will never be out of pocket for any expense. Canadian surrogates receive an average of $25,000+ in reimbursement.”

In addition to facilitating surrogacy for heterosexual couples, the group works to obtain babies for “same-sex couples yearning to create a biological connection with their child” and “single parents ready to embrace parenthood solo.”

Earlier this month, LifeSite launched a new campaign to join with rights groups, the Vatican, and pro-life organizations to demand a global ban on surrogacy. LGBT surrogacy was pioneered in the U.S. in 1995 and has resulted in the growth of the practice in the UK, Canada, Australia and other Western nations.

The practice has also been condemned by the United Nations, which called for the global criminalization of surrogacy earlier this month. In its report, the UN warned that “coercive tactics such as financial incentives, threats of legal action, or the withdrawal of support to both the mother and baby” are often used to pressure surrogate mothers to abort their children.

Recently, many surrogacy groups have been exposed as nothing more than human trafficking rings. This January 2025 report from Reduxx revealed the truly horrific tale of how a convicted pedophile ran a “multinational surrogacy empire.”

Furthermore, surrogacy has allowed convicted pedophiles, under the socially acceptable label of LGBT couples, to acquire babies.

In July, Americans were outraged to learn that a gay couple crowdfunded their surrogacy journey to obtain a child despite one partner being a convicted child sex offender. While adoption by a registered predator is illegal, the man used a surrogacy loophole by fathering the child himself and having the baby carried by a surrogate.

Similarly, in August, LifeSiteNews reported that six-year-old twins were removed by child protective services from the home of a 74-year-old San Francisco man after police found the boys locked in a “human-size cage.” The elderly man had obtained the boys through surrogacy.

The Cowichan Tribes decision – Aboriginal Title and private land in British Columbia | Canadian Justice

https://breaking-news.ca/watch-the-cowichan-tribes-decision-aboriginal-title-and-private-land-in-british-columbia-canadian-justice/

In this episode of Canadian Justice, Christine Van Geyn interviews professor Dwight Newman and lawyer Tom Isaac about the recent decisions in Cowichan Tribes v Canada.

Cowichan Tribes is a British Columbia trial level court about Aboriginal title and private property. The case was brought by the Cowichan tribes against the governments of BC, Canada, and the city of Richmond. On August 7, 2025, the BC trial court issued a groundbreaking decision and found that the Cowichan had successfully proved that they hold Aboriginal title over land located in City of Richmond. The most groundbreaking aspect of the case was that it is the first Canadian court decision to invalidate fee simple titles solely based on claims of Aboriginal title, elevating the constitutional force of Aboriginal title over registered land interests.

This has unsettled the relationship between Aboriginal title and fee simple. All three governments have appealed.
