Israeli Knesset Advances Bill To Execute Palestinian Prisoners Who Killed Jews

In yet another development which will certainly complicate current Trump administration efforts to find peace in Gaza, the National Security Committee in the Israeli Knesset is advancing a bill to impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners detained for killing Israelis.

Killings which are deemed motivated by "racism or hostility to the public" or aimed at harming the "State of Israel" or seeking to thwart the "revival of the Jewish people" would be a capital offensive, according to the legislation. Interestingly, the wording highlights Jewish citizens of Israel are the priority - and not for example Christian, Muslim, or Druze citizens.

It has unleashed immediate controversy both within and outside of Israel. For starters, some Israeli officials as well as families of Oct.7 victims fear that this puts the remaining hostages in Gaza at immediate risk. Notably, the bill does not apply the opposite direction - that is, it would not apply to Israelis who kill Palestinians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s coordinator for negotiations on the captives, Gal Hirsch, has gone on record as vehemently opposing the bill.

"It’s not for nothing that we are asking not to hold this discussion. I completely disagree with your assessment of the situation, Minister [Itamar] Ben Gvir," he said in a communication protesting the initiative. "Especially when we are engaged in a combined military and diplomatic effort to bring back the hostages, this discussion does not help us."

An initial Sunday Knesset committee vote was 4-1 in favor, while more of rounds of votes needed for the bill to become law, according to protocol.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has been leading the charge, resisting calls to postpone the vote due to the precariousness of the hostage situation.

The Israeli bill was denounced by the Palestinian Commission for Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society as an "unprecedented savagery," warning that it would entrench what they described as "systematic crimes" against detainees through legislation.

Increasingly, there have been shootings and terroristic attacks by Palestinians in places like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, related to ongoing events in Gaza and the West Bank.

This extension of a protective wing by the country’s largest and most established union for creative professionals came on the very day last week that Antoinette Lattouf was compensated in court by the ABC, Australia’s national broadcaster, for unlawful dismissal.

MEAA’s statement follows the issuing of months of statements of support from around the world for Mary Kostakidis, whose reporting on Middle East conflicts has been challenged by the Zionist Federation of Australia under the Racial Discrimination Act. Both parties are expected to appear in the Federal Court early next year.

Sports journalist Peter Lalor was sacked earlier this year by radio SEN for social media posts about the Gaza genocide. Lattouf too had been dismissed for her social media post (of a Human Rights Watch report about starvation as a weapon of war); and not for anything either had said on air at their networks.

According to the United Nations, the number of Palestinian journalists killed by Israel since the start of the war stood at 242 by Aug. 11.

Ben-Gvir greenlights first specialized prison for illegal immigrants

Israel begins building first prison for undocumented migrants after policy shift reclassifies them as security detainees; move follows rise in arrests and deadly attack by illegal entrants, with new facilities planned in Negev and central Israel

Groundwork has begun for the construction of a new prison that will, for the first time, be designated exclusively for detaining people in the country illegally, officials confirmed this week.

The decision was finalized last week during a presentation of new plans by the Israel Prison Service (IPS). Commissioner Kobi Yaakobi submitted the proposal to National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who approved it immediately

The facility is expected to become operational in the near future. Its main purpose, officials said, is to classify all undocumented migrants as security detainees rather than criminal offenders, as has been the practice until now.

Israeli police have been giving growing attention to the issue. Earlier this month, two Palestinian attackers who entered Israel illegally carried out a shooting at Jerusalem’s Ramot junction, killing six people.

According to data obtained by Ynet and its sister publication Yedioth Ahronoth, police have inspected 665,605 vehicles since the start of the year in efforts to locate undocumented migrants. Of those caught, 542 were jailed.

A geographic breakdown shows 194,538 inspections in the northern district, 122,492 along the coast, 32,862 in the south, 446,313 in Jerusalem and 861,855 in the Jerusalem periphery. The police tactical division conducted an additional 12,220 inspections, while the homeland security division carried out 4,832.

Accusing President Donald Trump of having dementia and calling for the 25th Amendment to be invoked, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) upped his war of words with Trump on Tuesday over Trump ordering federal agents and a small number of National Guard troops deployed to Chicago to help fight rampant crime and illegal immigration in the city, and to protect ICE agents and facilities.

Polish president says he ‘talks’ to the dead

Karol Nawrocki claims he often discusses history and politics with the spirit of Jozef Pilsudski, a marshal known for his anti-Russian views

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has said he has been holding regular conversations with the ghost of Jozef Pilsudski, the de facto leader of the Second Polish Republic between 1926 and 1935. He claimed their discussions center on politics and current events.

Pilsudski, who fought against Soviet Russia during the 1919-1921 conflict, was known for his anti-Russian and anti-Soviet views. He promoted the doctrine of Prometheism, which sought to weaken Russia by supporting nationalist movements within its borders.

Speaking to Radio Zet, Nawrocki claimed that he talks to Piłsudski “practically every day,” discussing the 1920 Polish-Soviet war, the current international situation amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the work of parliament.

In the past, Nawrocki has faced controversy over his stance on Soviet history. Before assuming the presidency, he headed Poland’s Institute of National Remembrance, which oversaw the removal of Soviet-era monuments.

Russian authorities have placed Nawrocki on a wanted list, accusing him of criminal responsibility for destroying memorials to Red Army soldiers who died liberating Poland during World War II.

His comments come as Warsaw has hardened its rhetoric against Moscow. At the same time, an increasing number of entries in the Glossary were outdated. We also saw a number of entries intentionally misrepresented and misused. Moreover, our experts have continued to develop more comprehensive resources and innovative ways to provide information about antisemitism, extremism and hate."

DC Police Sergeant ARRESTED After Crashing Into Federal Agents’ Car — Found With Machine Gun and Arsenal of Unregistered Firearms

A Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) sergeant is facing serious charges involving assault on a federal officer and being in possession of several weapons, including a machine gun.

Sergeant Montez Clark, 27, is on administrative leave as MPD's Internal Affairs Bureau investigates an incident that happened on Sept. 29. According to the police report 7News obtained, officers stopped a vehicle with an "equipment violation" around 8:55 p.m. on Monday. The report did not clarify what occurred during the encounter, but that three people were arrested as a result.

The three people were Clark, Sakou Yates, 25, and Russell Campbell, 23, police said. The charges Clark faces include "assault on federal police officer, fleeing law enforcement and leaving after colliding."

In addition, Clark, Yates and Campbell are also facing these charges:
