President Trump [Oval Office]: We're going to find out who is going after our federal agents.
President Trump: Portland is on fire. Portland has been on fire for years; not so much saving it. We have to save something else, because I think that's all insurrection. I really think that's, really, criminal insurrection.
Reporter: The Insurrection Act? Under what conditions or terms would you-
President Trump: Well I'd do it if it was necessary. So far it hasn't been necessary. But we have an Insurrection Act for a reason. If I had to enact it, I'd do that. If people were being killed, and courts were holding us up, or governors or mayors were holding us up, sure, I'd do that.
President Trump: There's a a huge problem in Portland. I'll tell you what the problem is. Crime. And there's a huge problem in Chicago. It's called crime. And we want to put out the crime, and they want to inflame the crime. And why they want to, I don't know. But it could be that Pritzker is scared for his life.
Angus Lee [attorney for Nick Sortor; press conference]: This morning, at eleven o'clock, we filed a discovery demand on the prosecutor's office, asking for all sorts of information about the communications between the Portland Police Department and Antifa, a domestic terror organization. We are going to get to the bottom, one way or another, of what is going on, and the relationship between the Portland Police Department and Antifa. There is a lot going on.
Angus Lee: Right now, when you go to those protests at the ICE facility, the people from Antifa are having communications with members of law enforcement. I can guarantee you, if you look, you will find it. And what they are saying to each other, about what the police will allow Antifa to do, needs to be uncovered. Because, make no mistake, you will find that the Portland Police are specifically telling Antifa they can do things that Nick [Sortor] can't do, that you can't do, that I can't do; they are allowing Antifa to control the streets.
