If you listen to the Sumerian story of Enki, the ANUNAKI combined their DNA into the MALE chromosome to create a breeding population of humans, as the humans before "Adam and Eve" were hybrids that could not reproduce without having a female ANUNAKI surrogate.
The Anunaki females were becoming weary from birthing human babies that the Anunaki decided to splice their DNA into the human race. "Adam and Eve" were the first humans that had the ability to procreate on their own. (Their names were not Adam and Eve in the book of Enki though).
