I did a lil research on the Insurrection Act.
Under 10 U.S.C. § 333(b), once the President makes the determination to exercise certain authorities under the Insurrection Act, he “shall notify Congress … as soon as practicable.”
It also requires subsequent notifications every 14 days during the period of exercising that authority.
My read on that is that Congress may be informed after troops are deployed. With our corrupt Congress, it may be unpractical to notify beforehand.
It's before the House Oversight Committee. It’s a closed-door deposition.
