D5 Digs! D5 Coalition

Need Help, looks like a growing hydra to Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion!

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is toxic to communities and ultimately

lead to loss of social cohesiveness due to the Paradox of Diverse Communities.

Massive tool to Divide US!

Comprised of 18 infrastructure organizations, the D5 Coalition was a five year effort organized in 2010 to create a strategic agenda and help philanthropy become more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. It has become a growing collaboration of foundations large and small, individual donors, regional and national associations, and organizations that focus on diverse communities.

The Paradox of Diverse Communities

The more diverse or integrated a neighborhood is, the less socially cohesive it becomes, while the more homogenous or segregated it is, the more socially cohesive. As they write,

“The model suggests that when people form relationships with similar and nearby others, the contexts that offer opportunities to develop a respect for diversity are different from the contexts that foster a sense of community.”
